I have a problem guys. My new shiny Honedge has less than 6 DEF IVs. [v_v] Should I change my previous strategy of 252 HP and 252 ATK to something that boosts his DEF? Should I just move on?

I'm not going to be heading to national tourneys or anything, but I will be going to a few Pokémon get togethers and possibly some local tournaments. I'm leaning towards just continuing on with the offense oriented build I was already planning...

Any advice?

Reposting for when people are actually awake.

I've given her 252 HP EVs already, but I'm not sure if I should continue with max ATK like I had planned. Should I split the last half between ATK and DEF?

I wonder if I should try to get 5 stats on Carbink...
HP/Def/Sp.Def are a must, Speed wouldn't hurt, and then maybe Attack...

Am I that masochistic...

Theory battling. Just build teams and battle already haha. It's different on paper, but application, skill, and luck are still a part of it.

Also,I have a couple of three IV dittos I can part with for the right price. Perfect IV Charmander? Pls!

oh did I mention Play Rough OHKOs
OHKOs what, Malamar? Then don't play Malamar against Azumarill. Bring out Malamar against Pokemon it can beat with its bulk, Contrary Superpower/Contrary Sticky Web, and Chesto-Rest/Rest-Sleep Talk abuse.

A note about Bellyjet Azumarill: He -does- have to forgo half his HP before he can start sweeping. If he out-speeds his opponent that means his 50% HP (under ideal circumstances) takes the blow to follow.

Been playing against some randoms using Ambipom on my team, really love using it. Outside of Beat Up being useless in a 3v3 match, I'm surprised how hard it can hit.

Does Focus Sash work when you use moves like Belly Drum? I'd put all EVs into Attack and Speed then just sweep with Aqua Jet and other moves. A STAB or SE on Azumarill after Belly Drum will probably knock it out if it doesn't have a Focus Sash.

Focus Sash only works if what would've been a OHKO strikes the victim at max HP. It's why I'm putting it on my suicide lead Protean Greninja, so if nothing else he can set up some Spikes to either deal residual damage or force a switch into a Defog or Rapid Spin user for two free turns (three if I can spin-block with Aegislash).

Ahaha, made someone online ragequit. Can't say I blame them, had a +3/+1 Dragonite out.
What's the +3/+1 shorthand mean?

Speaking of rage-quitting, that Substitute/Thunder Wave/Swagger/Foul Play set for Prankster Klefki looks intriguing. Would require 0 IVs in HP and Attack for maximum potency, I believe (to maximize number of Substitutes and power difference in Foul Play, which is calculated relative to the target only).

Had +3 attack and +1 speed, thanks to weakness policy and dragon dance.

And that is a Klefki I would not want to play against.

I really want to create that Klefki and see if I can get the all-legendary-using kids online to rage-quit. But I don't understand breeding for IVs well enough to make a Klefki with 0 Attack IVs and 0 HP IVs.

I can vouch for this set up on Klefki. I played against a random last night that had it and he obliterated me.

I haven't seen one used this way firsthand, but its reputation is already formidable. Can you give us a blow-by-blow of how the battle with the Klefki played out?
