I've heard you can kill it and then come back right after, and have it so you can soft reset, see it's nature and all that without watching cutscenes. Try it and see if it works.

There's a forced cutscene and battle immediately after you capture it. However, you get the option to add it to your party, so you can check its stats in that battle (you can figure out the nature by seeing which stats are above/below the maximum/minimum neutral stats).

Follow up question, I understand you can change natures now? Or was it abilities? Can you do that with legendaries?

It's abilities, and only if the Pokémon has two non-hidden abilities (i.e. it doesn't work for legendaries).

This is my preferred IV calculator, and it even supports Gen 6!

If a Pokemon has two regular abilities you can switch between them by using an item that costs
200 BP
at the
Battle Frontier-type area
post game.
So if a legendary has two possible abilities, yeah, you could switch between them.
It doesn't do Hidden Abilities, though.

Is it a one time use item? If so that sucks big time considering all the battles you have to do to get one.

Do IVs affect soccer ball powerups in super training? My perfect attack IV Heracross has a green soccer ball logo and does massive damage with limited EV training. I've also seem faster balls and multi-balls.

Goddamnit.

I didn't realise that haxorus's best moves are locked behind the move tutor in BW. :(

Ah well, I'll still make use of what I have.

I was thinking about swapping out my Charizard for Gengar, but I'm worried if it's a mistake to have two ghost-types on my team. Mega Charizard has been endlessly frustrating because his ability powers up physical moves and all my good moves are special.

Also is there anywhere besides random passerby battles where you even get to use six pokemon? I don't understand the point of building a team of six if I'm always going to have to use three.

Same problem here. Every time I want to train a Pokemon, it turns out it has a hidden nature or move tutor only moves. BLEH

Actually, you know what, with there being the fairy type now I probably should think of alternatives anyway so haxorus doesn't get completely walled by fairies.

I predict more than a few dragons will run poison jab. Which is covered by mawile anyway, so that's one that they have to worry about.

I need a good Pokemon-catching Pokemon. Parasect still good? Anyone have him in their friend safari?
I recommend Gallade. Mean Look, Thunder Wave/Hypnosis, False Swipe, and then some other move to do a bit more damage if needed. It's served me well in the past.
Aw, crap, I forgot all about this.

Isn't there a Move Tutor in XY? I had hoped that this guy would teach everything...
None very interesting. Just the normal Draco Meteor guy, and the guy to teach starters their version of Draco Meteor. And the move rememberer. But I think that's pretty much it...

Gengar >>>> Charizard. Do it.

I'm actually wearing my Gengar shirt today :D

Randomly caught a 31 Atk, Def, Sp Def... Vivillon

Or event-only moves, or moves that you could only get in a previous generation.

I can't believe I'm saying this but the unbroken transfers are slowly ruining this game for me.

No it looks like it will be 3rd game material for the 5th gen in a row -_-

I really wish they'd start keeping all the third-game features instead of stripping them out and putting them back in every. single. time.

There are random move tutors that teach specific moves, but not one that teaches one Pokemon numerous moves. GOTTA SAVE SOMETHING FOR POKEMON Z ONLY $40 NOW WITH MORE HATS

Damn it, that really sucks...

I think that, Lumiose City's camera + glitch, and the bad 3D framerate are my only complaints for the game...

Where would I go to know what my style is?
I'm not sure how to check that but an easy way to max it out is to buy 99 Premier balls in the Pokeball boutique at Lumiose.

Buy them one by one and not all at once.

Edit: Also activate Bargain Power level 3 before buying!

My thought about move tutor or event exclusive stuff is either make them egg moves after a few gens or just illegal (some of them might be a bit broken for general gameplay). But I'm sure "no to paid DLC" will be buy another game for some new egg moves, including a few of those like Pay Day Skitty...

Oh yeah this was the Gen V bad words list. Maybe a few more are added in Gen VI...

So what happens if I name my gen 3 trainer one of those things? When you think like that, Pokebank becomes a lot less simple than you previously thought...

Where would I go to know what my style is?
I heard that if the shushi place does not kick you out then you have enough to get the egg hatching power.

If in doubt you can always use bargain level 3 and buy premier balls one at a time (and then sell them all back for the same cost) too boost style..

Thanks! So anyone have a mean look Ralts they are willing to part with?

Got an Infiltrator Noibat with this iv spread: 31/XX/31/31/31/31... Can't wait to try him out.

I need this so bad... Any chance u can get another one (or is it an annoying process?) and I can trade u something? haven't had time to breed myself :< school/work sucks lol.

Wonder Traded 10 Heracrosses. My results:

Ponyta
Skorupi (my first German Pokemon!)
Pidgey
Ducklett
Honedge
Hawlucha
Spinda
Staravia
Drifloom
Trapinch

At least the Staravia is new.

I run Poison Jab on my Haxorus. Quite funny when people think to counter it with Fairies, especially if I've got one or two Dragon Dances under my belt.
