So for my own amusement, I've been thinking about putting together a kind of all-stars team. One 'mon from each generation, and I was trying to pick six dual types without any crossover. So far I've come up with
1 - Kabutops (rock/water)
2 - Skarmory (steel/flying)
3 - Mawile (steel/fairy)
4 - Gallade (psychic/fighting)
5 - Hydreigon (dark/dragon)
6 - Trevenant (ghost/grass)
It's not really a competitive team, mostly just for in-game stuff so it doesn't have to be held to the highest standard. I've never had much to do with natures/IVs/EVs etc, so this might be a good way to learn.
I've doubled up on steel which I wanted to avoid and I don't have a fire or electric type, but either way I went the last one was the hardest. I'm also not a huge Gallade fan, but I've never used him and I wanted some kind of psychic. I could replace Mawile and Gallade with Gardevoir for the psychic/fairy, but then I don't know what to replace the empty spot with. Something from gen IV. Gliscor? Still doubled on flying but at least it's ground.
Anyway, am I missing any obvious weaknesses, or anything I haven't thought of?
Also it's five thirty AM and I've been playing pokemon all night instead of sleeping, so I hope that makes sense.
EDIT: Playing with the wonderful failure type calculator, seems Kabutops/Skarmory/Gardevoir/Gliscor/Hydreigon/Trevenant has a wider range of coverage. Still light against ghost/steel, but everything else is covered alright.

After you see it the first time, you can track it on your Pokedex. In the old ones it'd move every time you changed routes, so you want to go back and forth between two until you end up in the same one. Repel + lead pokemon the same level.
Can't tell you if there's any new tricks for this gen, though. That's how it used to work.

Did some nice Wonder Trades on the toilet this morning.
That's why I keep the Super Training tab open so I can easily track how many eggs I have left to hatch.

That was it. Now I'm hatching Marvel Scale Dratinis only.
I love mine , I find it more bulky than people tend to describe it and a tiny bit faster than expected. For the time being I'm running sludge bomb, thunderbolt, dragon pulse and hydro pump, smogon suggested scald, but I have will-o-wisp on Delphox so I don't see the need as long as I'm still playing the main game.

Is there a way to increase ambush encounters in caves specifically? Been wanting a Ferroseed and Noibat.
Oddly enough I seem to get bush ambushed all the effing time in the same route as the fist cave with Noibat, but never in the caves -.-
And yes I love Dragalge too, about time a poison type was something to be scared of.

This is my set but replace Hydro Pump with Surf. I don't like to fool around with low accuracy moves.
I just learned right now that Flareon has Flare Blitz now. IM GOING TO ROAST THE FREAK OUT OF THOSE HEART RIBBON ORGANIC BOWTIES.

I didn't enjoy Pokemon Black / White all that much. I skipped B/W 2 altogether. I've enjoyed past Pokemons, though. Should I get this?

Playing White and White 2 made me think that I had outgrown Pokemon. I didn't even touch the post game and I dislike quite a few of the Pokemon. Getting Y made me realize I still love Pokemon.

Those are fighting words! Gen V is one of the best gens in my opinion. It was a fresh breath of air for the series. And there are some amazing Pokémon designs from Unova, such as Ferrothorn, Scrafty, and Crustle.
But to each his/her own. =P

My team were awesome and best of all I did it without using any Mega evolution.
I'm also saving megas for post-game. My team for the campaign is pure gen VI, which unfortunately didn't get any megas.

There was a time when I thought that IVs and Natures were a big deal. If you are not planning to participate in regular competitive battles with other players then these things matter little.

I couldn't find anything on serebii / bulbapedia but I'm hoping that the patron saint of fairies can learn Moonblast.
Fun fact: to combat Steel-types, Togekiss can actually learn Heat Wave via move tutor in BW, which is 5 base power higher than Flamethrower.
EDIT: Are there any stones / items / whatever that extend the usage of Trick Room?
Can you actually check for low IV's on the game? I was thinking about making some slow pokes for Trick Room on the long run.
