Trying to find a Zubat with it's hidden ability is turning me crazy. Should I look only to catch females? Trace isn't giving much help...
Yeah, should try to get females. I'm also probably planning to give away some brave bird/defog infiltrator zubats in a few days, so if you can't find one, I could give you one.

Damn weeds trying to do bad things to my berry trees. I've pulled weeds twice now!

Love the berry field though. Way more convenient than anything previous.

I feel like the HG/SS "grow berries in your bag" item was really great, but this is the next best thing. I have so many Leppa berries that I'll never have to worry about running out of PP in a cave again.

How do you infect your Pokemon with Pokerus? I spotted it on my Ledyba and I shoved it in my PC. I asked before but I don't think I got a response.

Stupid question that has probably already been answered, but I couldn't find anything by searching (either in this thread or elsewhere);

Is there anyway to get older Pokemon from the other games in X/Y other than the friend Safari? It seems monumentally absurd to me to have the past number of games get enormous post games that have gigantic areas to explore with all the older pokemon, or ways to find them in the areas you've been etc. etc. and then have...no way to do so in this game.

Pokerus is spread to adjacent pokemon in your party after a battle. I don't remember if there's a chance of it or not.

IVs are a thing that make a pokemon unique and, for the most part, are random values. There are ways to get certain Pokemon with high IVs so they're particularly strong though. Primarily through the Friend Safari and breeding methods.

can anyone explain to me the point of IV ?
i thought its was random values

IV's control maximum stats. In order to be at their maximum potential pokemon need perfect IV's.A pokemon's IV's can't be changed but you can use breeding to get pokemon with better IVs.

Man a substitue Gliscor hard walled me, and while I did manage to sneak an Ice Punch kill,

It came down to his Starraptor to Greninja Toxiced and 8 HP.

Starraptor had quickattack. If only if was Double edge, Ice beam would've secured my kill.

Maybe I should teach Garchomp Dual Chomp instead considering Outrage is less viable for a SD set.

No problem. I appreciate it none the less.

I wouldn't have been able to do the project at all without your dittos, so you have my thanks.

Next up is Bulletproof Chespin breeding, which I will dread. (nabbed my Bulletproof originator from a GTS trade for one of said dittos)

Battle with the Pokerus Pokemon and the Pokemon you want infected in your party.

The Poke Bank will come out in December, I believe, which will allow Pokemon to be transferred from the DS games.

Thanks for the Dratini. It will be of great use! I hope the Mawhile I sent you is ok. It should have 4 maxed IVs, but might have 0 in Sp. Def :/

Yeah it has 4 maxed IVs, and I got lucky apparently, cause the SpDef isn't 0! Haha sweet. :) Thanks again!

There are already 100s of them in the main game.
For example
X and y: 450 ish pokemon, all available during normal gameplay before the elite 4
black and white:150ish new ones pre-elite 4, a large number of old ones after.

Lucky. I had to catch one from Friend Safari. So Ditto and Quilladin don't like each other. Going to be so slow.

I finally got to Victory Road. I've been rotating team members this whole playthrough, but to speed things up, I'm sticking to my Elite Four team for the remainder of the main game.

What would be a good build for Azumarill? Ive been looking around on Smogon and it seems this one is pretty good:

Adamant, huge power
Iv: 31/31/31/XX/31/31
Ev: 252 atk, 128 hp, 128 spd
Belly Drum
Play Rough
Superpower
Aqua Jet

Does this look ok?

Shiny Kecleon...why must you look so lame? Curses Metroidvania!

yaaaaaaaaaaaay

That's actually a good idea.

Ivysaur evolution

Venusaur Evolution (A B C)

Mega Venusaur!

Sadly, the camera washes out the colors too much. It's a very nice, solid lime green in person!

That shiny Honedge.. HNNNNNG! So jealous! Thanks for the trade :D
Thanks man. It was totally worth the trouble to breed!

Glad I could help. =]

Has anyone here found a successful offensive Trevenant build? I'm definitely using 252 HP IVs, but I don't know if I should add some more bulk instead of throwing it all on ATK. I'm going to be using Rest with Harvest and a Lum Berry for recovery, as well as Horn Leech, so I think the bulk might be a better option. Thoughts?

Hey Skull, PM'd you a question about your Honeges!

Bulba Club is best club. That actually looks pretty cool. I'm glad Pokemon is 3D now. I love sprites and all, but dat 3D!

Thank you for taking the time to take these pictures for me, I appreciate it. =)

Of course! By the way, what's your Friend Code? You can PM it or anything.

So, I've been giving away hidden ability Dratinis to people on my passerby list, wonder trades... Anyone. Then, all of a sudden, a Japanese guy whose name I cannot type sends me a trade offer. Sure, someone else to send Dratinis.

Then, the guy shows me his Blastoise with the megastone. I think "sure, why not". And. He. Trades. It.

There was a connection error shortly afterwards, so I what I've been thinking about cloning might be possible after all: send trade offer, game saves, trade pokémon, don't exit the trade screen, turn off the console and you might keep your original pokémon. Has anyone tried this?

Since everyone was doing teams earlier and I can't talk tech/R&D enough:

Ferrothorn (Echidna) @ Rocky Helmet
Relaxed/252 HP + 48 Def + 208 SpD/Iron Barbs

Spikes/Stealth Rock
Leech Seed
Power Whip
Thunder Wave/Gyro Ball/Toxic

Replaces Roserade who replaced Venusaur. Hazards, status and general annoyance. Don't know if I want to have Gyro Ball for the Fairy menace or if I prefer having solid status setups.

Jolteon (Alastor) @ ???
Timid/252 SpA + 252 Speed + 4 HP/Volt Absorb

Substitute/Signal Beam
Baton Pass
Thunderbolt
Hidden Power (Fighting)/Hidden Power (Ice)

My favorite electric type and one of my favorite Pokemon evur™. This was my original lead mon, but after a critique from a friend, I'm beginning to think otherwise between increase in speed creeping and Jolt's lowish health/tanking ability. I'll never not have a team with a Jolteon on it though... This leads to the majority of my confusion when designing/optimizing my teams currently.

The slashed moves are ones that require me to invest a stupid amount of time into putting together an Eevee from Black 2 with Move Tutor'd moves or going full crazy on IV stuff.

Gardevoir (Artemis) @ ???
Modest or Timid/252 SpA + 252 Speed + 4 Def/Trace

Calm Mind
Psychic/Psyshock
Moonblast
Focus Miss

I feel like Gardevoir is really good now with the Fairy additional typing and Moonblast, but I really don't know what kind of set to do with her. Support set sounds fun but I wouldn't know how to build one with her and I always like to blast things out of the skies.

Blaziken (Agni or Ifrit) @ Blazikenite
Adamant or Jolly/252 ATK + 252 Speed + 4 HP/Speed Boost

Protect
Flare Blitz
High Jump Kick
Swords Dance/Baton Pass

The second absolute favorite on my team. I love Mega Blaziken so fucking much just from a visual design angle that it has been confirmed to be on every team I attempt to create for the foreseeable future. This set is pretty bog standard but it gets those results. Baton Pass is in its re-learnable moves (fuck yeah Gen 6 breeding mechanics) and is used to troll by passing Speed Boosts to Gardevoir if I encounter something raw physical offense can't crack and also to make her more monstrous as a potential sweeper on a read switch in.

Greninja (Trickster) @ Life Orb
Hasty or Timid/252 Sp.A + 252 Speed + 4 ATK/Protean

Surf/Hydro Pump
Ice Beam
U-Turn
Dark Pulse/Hidden Power Fire

Perhaps my favorite starter final form since Blaziken and Blastoise before that. Dark Pulse is filler until I get lucky and acquire a HP Fire Protean Froakie, Surf/Hydro is accuracy vs power (and also because a dedicated Surfer is nice with all the post game stuff I haven't done yet) and the other two are obvious.

Garchomp (Beowulf) @ ???
Jolly/252 ATK + 252 Speed + 4 HP/Sand Veil

Fire Fang
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Swords Dance/Stealth Rock

Rounding out the team is Chomp. He was the latest game addition and one done as an almost afterthought, but damn if he doesn't get those results.

I still somehow feel like this team isn't good enough though. Dunno if that's the eternal scientist in me or just pessimism in my ability. :P

Comments? Critiques would be most appreciated.

I think I have like half a box full of failed HP fire Eevees that got HP ice...

I am so late, but are any of them Timid? Female?

Of course! By the way, what's your Friend Code? You can PM it or anything.

I'll PM you it!

Does anyone know Flareon's full movelist?
Is Flare Blitz the only change?

No idea, but for in-game, you can use Flame Charge to get some speed then use Flare Blitz with Flareon's high 130 Attack. It can also learn Superpower and Return.

Flareon switches in on almost any Fairy free now.
It's usable.

In fact, it'll be amazing!

IT'S FLAREON'S TIME

A question for the pros:

My son and I are both playing through this game and enjoying it a lot. I've dabbled with Pokemon in the past but never done a full playthrough. For him, it's still a bit tough and frustrating at times, so since I'm further along in the game than he is I traded him a bunch of my unused Pokemon to make things easier. This morning he popped the game cartridge out by accident, and it turns out he hadn't saved following our trade and lost the Pokemon I gave him. He was a little upset about it. I don't have them in my save file any longer, so I assume these guys are gone for good?

And further to that, is there anything to prevent me from trading him some of my team, then reloading my old save file prior to the trade so that we both have the same Pokemon? And then further still, could we not trade and reset yet again, so that one or both of us could actually have duplicates of the exact same Pokemon (eg, two or more Charmeleons or what have you)?

I'm not saying I plan to do this but if it's possible it seems like a weird exploit.

That's basically what I intended it for when I was breeding them. Belly Drum can be kind of risky though, so I was going to try it out and possibly switch to Choice Band (replacing Belly Drum with Waterfall, likely).
