Wow, I caught 5 Togepi from the FS and all of them had three or more 31 IVs. I don't think I've ever caught a Pokemon with more than two before this. Weird.

Anything from the Undiscovered egg group always has 3. It mostly seems to be that way for legendaries to ease in soft resetting, but babies get the perk too (maybe because they're such a pain to breed).

Anyone happen to know what the "6V" means in the GTS? I've seen a couple of Ditto named that...
The HABCDS V system is used by the Japanese as a shorthand to refer to IV spreads:

H = HP
A = Attack
B = Defense (block)
C = Special Attack (contact)
D = Special Defense (defense)
S = Speed

Using an uppercase letter indicates that that stat has a 31 IV. For example, an HBD Wobbuffet would have an IV of 31 in HP, Defense, and Special Defense. That is:

HBD = (31/xx/31/xx/31/xx)

Using lowercase rather than uppercase would indicate IVs of 30. For example:

HAcdS = (31/31/xx/30/30/31)

6V specifically refers to a HABCDS - one with all 31s. 6Vメタモン (Ditto with all 31s) is pretty commonly sought after, for obvious reasons.

Well with Z I basically mean the third version(s) which can be anything at this point. This is the video.

It's an interesting idea, but of course, it's all speculation.
Just watched it, everything I thought about to kick the theory was already in the comments

- The nations in war with Kalos don't have to be in this generation. For all we know Unova is one of them (this includes the backpacker's dialogue, might be a new gen)
- That the guide might be talking about Hoenn in an RSE remake

Really it's not like I disagree, I just really doubt the possibility of new Pokemon being patched in.

That's pretty cool, I guess I should have figured that Japan had a different naming system.

So about this guy:

Carbink-X-and-Y.jpg

Some surprising potential.

Carbink [Sturdy – Hidden Ability] @ Light Clay
EV spread: 252 HP (base 50) / 132 Defense (base 150) / 126 Sp. Defense (base 150)
Nature: Impish (+ Def, - Sp. Attack)

- Stealth Rock
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Explosion

A suicide lead: Set up rocks, set up Reflect and Light Screen (each lasting eight turns due to Light Clay), then go out with a bang as soon as the situation looks grim. Putting 132 EVs into base 150 Defense and 126 EVs into base 150 Sp. Defense should result in around 400+ Defense on an Impish Carbink (+ Def, - Sp. Attack) and mid-300s Sp. Defense. Health tops out at 304 with perfect IV and full 252 EV investment. Reflect and Light Screen would increase your longevity further.

Thoughts?

Woah, congrats!

Also, what is that top poke ball?

It's a Premier Ball that my Talonflame lives in. You get one for every ten Pokeballs you buy.

That's really cool! And a very low egg # at that.
I know, right? I've had some crazy shiny luck in this game. I've played at least one game from every generation and never found this many on a single cartridge before.

Does it have Hidden Power Fire?

It's actually HP Dark, of all things :P

I did some quick Rare Candying and took some pictures of shiny Frogadier and Greninja if anyone's interested:

Togepi is considered a baby Pokémon all baby Pokémon have at least three 31 IVs

Oh I see. Lol I guess that's the silver lining in all of this. Well, I'm going to be busy for most of today anyway, so I might as well buy some Rare Candies and spin around the tower for a bit.

Is there any way to inspect a pokemon on the GTS? Like there are notes claiming that a poke is 6iv but what's to stop them from lying?
Nope. I traded away a Scizor for a Ditto that the person said had max IVs, and got a rubbish one in return. I wish there was a way to see stats and Natures of the Pokémon you're receiving.

no way you're gonna have 3 turns to set up Stealth Rock, Reflect, AND Light Screen

FYI: 31/31/31/31/31/31 Ditto are basically impossible to get right now. Even quad-flawless is very rare. Don't expect even a chance to get hex-flawless until Pokébank opens up.

I wouldn't bank on it, but it's certainly possible. Many opposing teams take a turn to set up entry hazards themselves, which is a free turn for Carbink to do the same. Sturdy prevents a OHKO on the following turn, and most Pokemon would need to 2HKO it with those defenses, anyways. That's enough time to get Stealth Rock and a screen in. Or just an eight-turn screen for your sweeper of choice, I.E. Huge Power Mega Mawile.

Just a fun idea. :)

I still don't get the point of Sushi High Rollers.
I lose like $200,000 even after Prize Money Power Level 3 and Amulet coin, and the EXP's about the same as Restaurant Le Wow.

It only applies to things you can catch. So babies you breed don't get this, just Togepi.

I went with 252 Def/HP and 4 Sp.Def.
I use Moonblast instead of Expolsion as well.

My main use is for it to eat hits while I set up Reflect, since most of my team is free to physical attacks.

It's hard to set up Stealth Rocks a lot of the time, but if their lead isn't a super powerhouse, I would probably try to go with that first.
I never want it to be a suicider since it can take a lot of hits anyways and a lot of my team are bulky in general, especially to special attacks.

It's a reference or joke about how there are fancy over-priced restaurants that offer nothing more than "status symbols" compared to other places.

That's what I took it as. Only "Famous People" can go there and the food isn't that good.

Anyone know the answer to this?

Also, where can I start the Looker missions?

He's in the alley that connects South or North Boulevard with Rouge Plaza.
Right across from Sushi High Rollers.

But you should've gotten a Holocast from him to start.
You only get that if you've become the Champion, get to Kiloude, did 1 match at Battle Maison, and then battle your rival in Kiloude.

This sounds awesome. I don't have a single fairy in my team and now I want this guy. If you guys are breeding them and have spares, hit me a pm.

Ah, Ok. I haven't battled my rival in Kiloude yet

Damn these Goomy

*hatches egg* Goomy has 31/31/x/31/31/x - so close!

*hatches another egg* Goomy has 31/x/x/31/31/31 - oh come on!

peopele sometimes like to skip the reading part. or just like to troll. I wanted to trade a haunter for a no nickname haunter and received a haunter called nickname. Now i hope somebody at the wondertrade enjoys a gengar called nickname.

Do you happen to have any rejects that you don't mind parting with? I'm on the lookout for a Modest Sap Sipper Goomy.

I know, but there's also wild Riolu and Smoochum out there that can help jumpstart you if you're breeding for a Lucario or Jynx - they're just a huge pain because you have to evolve them first so it's a nice bonus to already start with 3 IVs.

Gah! I wish I had thought of this.

When I was breeding Carbink I had an "invincible wall" strategy in mind, where I spam double team, substitutes, and toxic. I had him bred with max def, SpD, and a def boosting nature + a negative speed boost nature.

On top of that I gave him leftovers. The idea was that he just walls the living crap out of everything he fights.

Actually, that said, I have a different strategy in mind now using trick room...
