Breloom is one of my favorite ingame G3 Pokemon, and I still had to laugh at it getting rocked

I've gotten into using Ninetails as my fire special revenge killer. Self boosting with drought, huge Fire Blast it can use right off the bat and 1 turn Solar Beams to counter Bulky Waters. If all else fails, drop a Will-o-Wisp to screw over the guy for your next pokemon.

The problem is that the motto belongs to the anime, and their goal in the anime ≠ their goal in R/G/B/Y.

Yep. He sets up the notion that their anime and game teams are totally different and then goes and takes the motto from the anime and applies it to the game.

It's mostly luck what will transfer. Without destiny knot it's "up to" 3 that will go from either parent, while the rest are randomized. With destiny knot, it's a guaranteed 5 that pass.

So what would be the best strategy to go forward trying to get rid of the crappy SpA IV?

Not worry about it until you're breeding for a perfect Sp.Atk IV. Take you're child pokemon with The bad Sp.Atk IV and good other IVs and breed it with something with a good Sp.Atk IV. Then wait until the kids have a good combo.

IIRC, post-platinum every legendary has something that will reset it if you kill it. Some just require you to walk out of the room,. others require you to beat the elite 4 again.

God dang if wish sylvan doesn't have a ton of staying power. Specials can't touch her and WIsh+Protect next turn gives her a huge recovery. She can also Wish to heal the pokemon that switches in next turn. Super great utility pokemon with great dragon killing power.
