Mega Garchomp is roughly equivalent to 4 mega evolutions so that's good enough.

You've been stopping apocalypse for like 3-4 games now. I don't think crazy is a no go for pokemon.

Also he can make the actual rival interaction interesting. The set up for the protagonists in RS and DPP does a great job in finding character in what are very blandly written characters in the game.

Metal Coats have always been fairly rare, I think it was only FR/LG and HG/SS that offered some way to get multiples without having to hunt certain steel types.

Make sure your thief isn't holding anything. On average I think it was taking me about 15 Magneton per metal coat.

How do you know if you get the metal coat? Ive never used thief before.

I've got Klefki (Prankster), Larvesta (Flame Body), Goomy (Gooey), Inkay (Contrary), & Fletchling (Gale Wings). I don't think I have 5 IVs for any of them other than the one I use for myself sadly.
