Well I had a really good night's sleep. Completely uninterrupted by howling gales or torrential rain or thunder. Massively dissapointing.

It is a bit rainy though.

Flash floods in South Wales, lots of buses on diversion.....but not really that bad.

Although elsewhere
@LondonFire: Up to 40K people without power in S E England according to @UKPowerNetworks - please keep a close eye on candles to prevent fires #storm

I'm supposed to fly Helsinki-Amsterdam today, at least earlier KLM already cancelled. Mild annoyance but safety first, let's see if I get home.

We live in a end-of-terrace house in the South East and the wind is really battering us. Sounds awful.

We have two hutches in our garden with two rabbits and two guinea pigs too. I had to go out there and make sure they were all right. They're all wrapped up in hutch covers and bedding and seemed fine!

Second time I've tried to write this post as our power keeps going off for minutes at a time. So that's an obvious effect from the storm.

We had some amazingly strong gusts through the night. But looking out of the window this morning I can't see any obvious damage. We are lucky though that our high garden fence lay along the path of the wind rather than perpendicular to it.

Lots of reports on the local news of trees down in our area blocking roads. But the kids are off school this week anyway so we've no plans to travel. Storm is apparently heading to London now, so stay safe CockneyGAF,

Edit: West Dorset, not far from Bridport.

That sounds cosy tell them to expect a visit from a local tramp.

Southeast England over here, just north of Brighton. Power hasn't gone out, nothing seems damaged except for a few corn plants. It doesn't even look that wet on the pavement even though I heard it piss down all night.

Kept waking up because of the wind though, was crazy.

I survived the storm and all I got was this lousy tshirt that blew off someone else's washing line.

Basingstoke resident.
It's morning. My house is still where it was when I went to sleep, so it's a good start. I have an afternoon/evening shift at work, so we'll see what things are like then. But looking out my window, it doesn't seem any worse than winds I've encountered before in the past year.

In Buckinghamshire here. Not much apart from a few trees that seem to have fallen or split in half and the metropolitan line is delayed, it was cancelled earlier due to obstructions on the track.

Just seen via local travel news on Twitter that fallen trees have blocked the road from our village (Broadwindsor) into town (Bridport). I imagine that'll take a few hours to get sorted.

Well that wind is hitting the netherlands now we got a code orange. Pretty hard winds at the moment around 100 to 120 km per hour.

Still no Naz on Sky News..... FUCK

Now that I'm up (was told not to go into work via the automated emergency response service they set up lol lol), I hope this shall be rectified immediately. I mean are sky that dumb that they don't wheel her out for a 6 hour live marathon update of the storm. Viewing figures would be cray
in my house
.

Stop the sirens. The first five times was passable at 6 in the morning. It's now half eight. Surely, they can't all be emergencies.
