Any 3DS owners in here as well?

Question, I really enjoyed P4G; absolutely loved it. Should I check out Shin Megami Tensei IV? Same kinda thing? Or maybe Fire Emblem Awakening?

SMT4 is very different, much more focused on the battle system and gameplay and less on the story/characters. Anyone can enjoy Fire Emblem though and it contains social link-esque elements, I highly recommend it.

If you loved the demon fusion in P4G go with SMTIV

If you loved the waifus in P4G go with FE

I looked at SMT IV afterwards. Seeing a lot of the differences, I just bought P3P instead for my next Persona fix.

Another month, and still no word on Terraria

It's never coming.

Isn't SMTIV first person based with exploration?
IIRC, it is, and that's a huge no-no for me. So while I liked getting demons and fusing them... I will NOT be playing SMTIV. Ever.

New thread smell yay!

Whoa nice busy month.

Has there been any footage of SpiderMan yet?

And the PS4 drops in two weeks.

Oh boy...

SMT IV >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FE

Just my humble opinion. :)
Atlus fanboy alert

VASTLY different from P4G though. Be prepared for a challenge.

Nope, like Lem already said, dungeon crawling is all third person. Battles are first person but are lightning fast.

Everyone should play it.

Just out in the fields trying to get acquainted with the battle system. I would often run out of the EP? so that I could use her heal spell that I had on her. Money doesn't seem abundant so buying a bunch of potions seems out of the question. No heal point nearby. You can get kind of stuck. But I just started the game so maybe I am missing something?
Have Joshua as your healer too. Here's a list of orbment combinations.
http://legendofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/Arts

I think you replenish all hp and ep for that character once you level. Inns also replenish them. Use Estelle's attack buff on yourself or Joshua for that extra power.

I have $15 in my PSN wallet and I'm torn between Spelunky and PJ Monsters. I already have monsters on the PS3 but I think I would play it a lot lot more on the Vita. On the other hand, I hear great things about Spelunky but $15 seems a bit steep. Or is the something else I I should wait for? Whens fez coming out?

Simultaneous release with Second Son would be awesome.

Vita has so few exclusives (or retail games in general) that bundling it with some PS4 game isn't going to do the platform any favours. It's something a western third party does to a cheap outsourced handheld spinoff because they don't believe in its selling potential otherwise. That's of course besides the fact that we would know of inFamous Vita if it were scheduled to come out early next year.

Edit: Why did Sony ever let go of the MH franchise anyway... I miss it... At least until I get my hands on a 3DS.

Awesome dodging on the MH vid BTW. I approve of your skills.

Circa 2003: Why did Sony ever let go of the Resident Evil franchise?

Then who is developing inFamous Vita?

high impact games

sanzaru games

some no name studio

Bend? Their last game was released in 2011. They have enough time to make an Infamous for the Vita and move on to a PS4 project. Their new game would be at early stages, Infamous would be finished and Sony is holding it back until next year.

Bend is working on a PS4 game. It shouldn't take them 3 years to make a Vita game, so this game should have already been announced by now.

505 will release Terrarria ports on toasters, microwaves, ovens, stoves, ouya, and potatoes before the vita version is released

Spelunky is cross-buy, if that helps inform your decision.

Question for retro-loving Vitabros: PS1 games played on Vita don't have any lag like on the PS3 do they? The lag is due to the PS3's processing combined with some TVs' lag, so I assume it's not an issue on Vita.

Uploading images from vita to pc is so damn fast, no need for even content manager assistant (on vita).

anyway, WRC4:

^ this is in free camera mode. You'd think will all those options to rotate the camera, they'd have a way to take nice quality screens, or at least a button to hide the camera controls for system screenshots...

Having a lot of fun with the actual game though.

I must be missing something, there's even a photographer reticule in the middle :S

maybe if I finish the race first, one sec - nope, ah well, hope this dumbness doesn't leak into other parts of the game - other than the guy still reading out the directions after you pause the game.

There's no proof that it's PS4 only, they were still hiring Vita people a while ago. We really have no idea what exactly Bend is making right now. If they're working on a Vita and PS4 game at the same time both games may not be ready for an announcement right now.

SMT IV was my first non-persona SMT game, and I loved it. It is different from persona in that there are no social links, and you recruit demons by negotiating with them rather than getting Personas. Lots of the demons are the same, as are the names of the skills etc, so if you've played P4 it won't be hard to pick up. The first dungeon is a bit brutal, but it gets easier as it goes on. People complained about the story being sparse, but I found it really engaging. Personally, I highly recommend the game - right now it's my Game of the year, and I doubt that will be changing!

Fire Emblem is completely different, as it's a strategy RPG. I haven't completed it, but it's enjoyable. Personally, I recommend SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked as a SRPG for 3ds, but that might be just me.

I loved this idea in theory, I hated it in execution. Certain answers seem to work most (or all) the time but a lot of it is just pure luck. SMT:IV is fun but half of the time I spend on it is reloading the game incessantly.
Save scum the game! P4G is brutal, legitimate difficulty..

I would love these games but the Hardware (3DS/3DS XL) annoys the hell out of me

So yeeeaaah. Putty Squad (once supposed to be a Vita launch title in PAL regions), is now on track for a November 29 release. It's still getting a physical retail release.

61ldsJ-nVNL.jpg

Also coming to basically every other system (except Wii U, that one was cancelled), but only the Vita version will have extra levels released for it as free DLC. System 3's way of saying sorry for the massive delay I guess, and the fact that it was originally going to be a Vita exclusive game. The original Super Nintendo version of Putty Squad is also going to included as a free download.

(I still doubt this game will ever actually come out though).

Add it to the list with Bit Trip Runner 2, Zone of Enders HD collection, and a few others.

There's a demo of Runner2 out for the public so I'm sure it's coming out eventually, as will Terraria. ZoE HD was probably cancelled after it bombed on PS3, not to mention the performance issues.

Good decision of them not making this Vita exclusive.

I'm sure they'll continue their Japan-only baseball games.

I totally forgot about that series. Then again it's not my fault they relegated themselves to a MGS and PES factory.

Kinda interesting to see how the major JP devs treat the Vita

SE - pending FFX success
Capcom - giving scraps
Scamco - ?
TK - musou musou musou musou
Atlus - cozy with the 3DS
SEGA - lol

Yeah, I'm aware, I was just being negative because I can. It is kind of ridiculous that no release window has been specified and no further details (other than cross-play, apparently) have been supplied lately. Same with Runner 2 -- if it wasn't for dallow, we'd have no idea that a demo on GS kiosks even existed.

Speaking of AWOL games, what happened to Luftrausers, I wonder?

As for ZoE HD, they apparently patched all issues out of it on PS3.

I don't expect any more Konami support on the Vita.

Oh well, at least it got a better MGS3 than the 3DS.

Hahaha, like that was hard to do.
More importantly, we got MGS2 HD.

You're not looking in the right places:

Surprised that PS blog or any of the media outlets haven't announced that. Wonder if it will be cross-buy too, or if it's going to pull a Dragon's Crown...

TK should be something like...
musou... sub-par action game port, even worse action game port, obsolete fighting game port, musou...

Aren't those One Piece musou games published by Namco? Those are on Vita, just not in NA/EU.
What about the Dragonball game? Who is publishing that? That's Namco, isn't it?

Scamco, SEGA, and Tecmo Koei are Vita's biggest supporters. The only one that localizes their Vita games are TK though.

demon negotiations are worst part of any SMT/persona game

So many PSP games I missed buying that thing late in the game. Have a feeling I'm going to get PSN cards for Christmas and I'll fill up my memory card with RPGs.

I want to replay Crisis Core but my PSP is broken! :(

I want to play it period.
Add it to the list of things that could make Vita amazing but will never happen:
(1) Crisis Core on PSN
(2) Mega Man Powered Up on PSN
(3) Crash games work on Vita
...

The list goes on and on. I have no idea how they don't have people working on and fixing this stuff. There's money waiting to be thrown at them for fixing it!!!

Surprised that PS blog or any of the media outlets haven't announced that. Wonder if it will be cross-buy too, or if it's going to pull a Dragon's Crown...
Non-Sony retail games have absolutely nothing to gain from being cross buy. Get over it, people. It's not the standard.

Nobody said it was the standard. I wondered if it was possible based of cross-play.
And you're absolutely wrong. At least in terms of "non-Sony retail games having absolutely nothing to gain". There is absolutely something to gain.

Did I buy Terraria on PS3? Nope.
Will I buy Terraria on Vita if it's not cross-buy? Maybe.
Will I buy Terraria on Vita if it cross-buy? A lot more likely.

An even better example is Cloudberry Kingdom.
Would I have bought it in the PLAY promo if they'd said for sure it was going to be cross-buy? Hell yes. Without a doubt... I would've gotten +1 game toward my discount and got it for a discounted pre-order price. Would that be worth having the PS3 version sitting on my console unplayed for 6 months? Absolutely.
Chance I buy Cloudberry Kingdom for $10 without cross-buy when it eventually does release on Vita? 0%

There's a sense of value that a consumer gets from buying a game and having it be cross-buy, even if they NEVER end up playing the game on the alternate platform. ESPECIALLY IF IT'S CROSS SAVE. It gives people options; options which make them feel more comfortable purchasing your software. At least if I put myself in the customer's shoes, it does.

As JStein0222 below points out, I've done that too. I've spent $10-$20 more on a PS3 version to get both, just because I wanted the possibility of playing on either. Hell, I would've bought the PS3 version of Dragon's Crown for $60 if it were cross-buy -- but it wasn't, so they got a $40 sale from me and I'll never bother with the console version now.

Preach, brother.

Plus if a game is, say $60 on PS3 and $40 on Vita, but the PS3 version comes with the Vita version (think PlayStation All Stars) I'm much more inclined to spend the extra $20, buy the PS3 version and end up with both! Whereas if the game in question did not work that way, I may just buy the Vita version because of the price reduction.
There are arguments that can be made that cross-buy can lead to a higher profit. But, I see where the other jawn is coming from

^ yep

I wouldn't have bought Sly Cooper on Vita if I didn't get the PS3 version too, as a backup (hearing about loading times and graphics mainly - was happy with the graphics, not the loading times). Even though I probably won't touch it on PS3. Lots of gamers have collector/backup compulsions like this.

Some people prefer one platform but own multiple or are interested in owning multiple. Regardless, having an extra copy to play on a different device makes me more likely to purchase it all together as it's good value and extra convenience.

And I understand big games like CoD not being cross-buy. Lots of people would buy that no matter what. Otherwise, there are plenty of games to choose from, up to them if they want to give extra incentive.

The Dyad dev knew this well, he said "if there is a Vita version, it will only be free and so cross-buy". Never happened, lot of people who really wanted it on vita probably got it on PS3 and forgot about it after a short while (imo).

I guess indies know most people won't buy their new game twice and it's easier for them to make the decision. I understand that big companies would think more people would be interested in buying both copies. Like we have so much cash and no games to play.

He's right to say we probably shouldn't expect it from most titles, especially big third-party.

I wanna buy some stuff off of PSN and play some Killzone Mercs online, but my power is out. I'm currently sitting in my car charging my phone since it died earlier. :(

I could walk to Starbucks down the street and see if they have power, but I doubt they would...

Seattle, what's up lately? If it's not fog that lasts for a whole week, it's massive power outages.

My car is cold and I'm bored.
