Loved it. Have always liked fitz/simmons and It's going to suck when one of them is killed off. Thought fitz should have saved her, but w/e. Acting was stronger overall, too. Thought that last fireman who bit bit the dust did a great job for his limited role. Skye's comment about Cap looking like the dude was fucking hilarious. Wards expressing his inability to "hurt" something was great. Good shit. Sounds like May had an "after life" experience, too. Something to play with/build off of.

Hope next week they can show us some decent fight choreography..

I hadn't caught any episodes after the second one, and it doesn't really seem like I missed much? Today's episode was pretty darn good, not reliant on action and having more downtime and chat between the characters. But damn, I missed a Big Lebowski joke? I gotta rewatch this ep.

Really starting to think Coulson's resurrection has to do with Asgard somehow.

With that recent rumor that came out in regards to this show connecting to a future Marvel flick,
maybe Coulson's resurrection is related to whatever was used to bring Bucky back as the Winter Soldier?

It's still not exactly a great show. That eppy was paint by numbers. So strange to see coming from the Dollhouse minds. Then again we're getting the same from McCreary.

I'm likely in for the duration though. I just have no illusions about it becoming more than what it is before its inevitable cancellation.

The best episode of the series thus far. C+

Is it bad that I feel the same way? I got bored right after Coulson "discovered" Simmon's condition and outside a few good character moments, I felt that it was still lacking. Why did everyone jump to the conclusion that, initially at least, it had to be a person murdering the firefighters? How in the world did Ward catch up to Simmons in midair? But still, a better episode than all that came before. Scant praise indeed.

The show needs to get past the "case of the week" structure but each episode has been getting better at developing the cast and I appreciated the work done here on both Fitz and Simmons.

That... was actually really excellent. I love that each episode is steadily improving, and we're not seeing any declines. Cast was great in this episode, really gelled. Peters/Coulson really sold his character moments, I thought. That scene with him and the fireman was excellent. Also, I really did think they were gonna Whedon my beloved Simmons :(

Great episode though. The character moments were really good. Makes me wanna know more about May and Coulson's past history.

Also, the Smoke Monster continues to be a dick.

Was there a scene after the credits in tonight's episode? I think I missed it.

Yep, the tweet was right. Best episode yet. I'm only disappointed because I thought this would shed some light on the "clairvoyant".

Edit: Almost forgot. This was the first episode where the music bugged me. I didn't notice it before but it really does affect the scenes. I actually thought the two agents handling the cargo were bad people with the easy the music was going.

It's definitely very aggressive at telling us how we should feel. in this case, it was amplifying Skye's uneasiness about the whole thing but I think that could have been played with more subtlety. Still, I thought a lot of the score this episode was quite good (like the montage scene and especially the sad strings for the fireman's death).

It was an OK episode. Still like the Graviton episode the best. Continuing to stick with it until the end. Despite the lack of improvements.

Simmons is why I watch this show.
I really thought she was done for.
Thought I was done with the show for a moment there.

Another improvement. It seems they are finding their stride.

Definitely their strongest from a character development point of view. I actually do care about them now, every member, which I could not of said a few episodes ago.

Same here. I figured the show would come into its own eventually, and it's making great strides towards getting there. It still isn't THAT great, but it's starting to get good, and I definitely won't be dropping it at this rate.

This episode wasn't terrible, there is maybe some hope for this show

It started with me being upset when I checked my PVR as I thought it was wednesday and was looking for Arrow :P

Thought the first half of the show was terrible. For most of these episodes, I haven't been seeing the "oh my god, it looks so made for TV" stuff that people have bitched about, but that opening was definitely on the same level as Suite Life.* The look and style continued through the investigation, and just hurt everything overall.

But the second half of the episode worked beautifully. Yes, it was contrived, but was still effective, probably because I'm waiting for the writers to kill someone on the team, and she seemed to be a valid candidate. The team is starting to have more and more chemistry, which only makes the show stronger.

Skye continues to be the weakest character on the team (yes, even over Ward) but I guess they've built up too much plot around her. She's just another Dushku or Glau, and that's not a good thing.

*On Deck, of course

Aren't some of the non-Fury SHIELD higher ups supposed to be a bunch of dicks in Captain America 2?

SHIELD is always half super shady. Always the half the HEAD(Fury, Stark, Rogers, Hill) doesn't know about.

It would be weird if they ever did the ancient society thing from the comics. With Howard Stark still alive and everything

Simmons want that PHD dick, and Fritz being the typical nerd wants the hot chick.

I am disappointed that ZZzaxxx wasn't involved.

Show is definitely trucking along for me as it keeps improving with each episode.

The fact that Fitz & Simmons were mostly the focus was enjoyable as I do like their relationship. Also like May & Coulson's relationship as it implies both have very similar histories so hopefully there's more to come. Ward & Skye are okay, but still, I wouldn't turn down more development for them.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the episode on the 19th, since that will be dealing with Thor 2.

So that was the first actually great episode, not just a watchable one. Chemistry was great, none of the characters felt too forced or stupid and there was also actual development, specially between Fitz-Simmon. Sure, there was a lot of cheese mixed with that corn, but we are talking about a Marvel show made for TV instead of the typical big budget film, so this comes with the territory and everything was handled in perfect Whedony fashion.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the episode that finally grabbed me.

Simmons want that PHD dick, and Fritz being the typical nerd wants the hot chick.

I was going to say that Skye should watch out, because Simmons was also looking disgustingly pretty. Like, straight up 10. Did they grow those two in a secret superhot chick-vat or something?

Just watched the entire Primeval series this weekend, and the cast line-up is really similiar with the leader, the tough guy, the biologist, the scientist; but the actors are so much more natural. Replace Fitz-Simmons with Abby and Connor, and you have two actual live people, not two wooden characters that are only there to throw off facts.

The best episode so far, with some great scenes. Coulson in particular when he stayed with the fireman for his last moments was well acted. Clark Gregg showing he can hold the show on his own. Fitz and Simmons showed potential as well.

The entire Prolouge was amazingly bad, the kids acting was cringe worthy. If anything, this episode at least persuaded me to stay with the show for a while longer anyway.

The acting is improving overall, which is a relief. Ward just really isn't working, still, however. He's the only member of the team I can't see ever really clicking with the show.

BTW, I want Kate Bishop to guest star in this shit so. fucking. bad. Specially after the last episode.

Lady Hawkeye would be a terrific fit for Agents of SHIELD. She's a young, somewhat light hearted character with direct connection to the main MCU, yet ready to be used as the writers seem fit.

She's so real it hurts.

Yup. The only one. You are unique in your feelings, utterly.

I mean the jokes in this show is so corny, really bad acting. I also hated when they bring up other Marvel's movie characters in this show... It's just lame and out of place.

I really think this show is for kids under 10 years old.

Still room for improvement, but this was the first episode that actually made me care more about the lead characters than the Marvel elements or villain-of-the-week. That counts for a lot.

Oh also, I don't get why people are criticizing a show based on super hero comic books about being corny. Have you ever picked up a comic book? Shit's corny all the fucking time.
