12 minute Xbox One dashboard demo

About the Skype part at 5:40...

The embedded small Skype window is from a different shoot.

That's a bold claim, especially when it's matching what they're doing perfectly and even has arrows show up on the screen when he extended his arms out too far near the start.

Seems to run a lot better than the previous live vids we've seen. Hopefully it works this well at launch. Love the bit where the Skype camera tracks him. Only negative I have really is that Forza 5 looked a bit underwhelming graphically. Lots of jaggies even off screen at a distance.
Because that was the old gamescom demo that Albert played and not the final code.

That bit made me giggle.

Is the twitch streaming in had hoped they would show it or is it delayed.
Seems like good way to get some more day one exposure.

1080 P webcam + hot girl + twitch TV = tons of $$$ to be made.

Smile, act cute in 1080p playing games, and you will get 100000000 viewers in a week

I like everything I see, but the gamer inside me is so pissed off that they will always be behind the PS4 spec wise, and that mutiplatform games will not be on par. But I will probably buy one just for the exclusives down the road..

The problem I have with the Xbox One's UI is that, whilst it's very, very impressive at what it does, I can't shake the feeling that it's all coming at the expense of how well the games themselves actually run.

I'm not a huge tech-guy, but I believe the UI eats up quite a lot of the system's memory and resources? Stuff like being able to suspend the game, watch a movie, have a Skype chat, then hop straight back where you left off is impressive in a technical sense, but isn't really something I'll ever actually want to do, so I can't help but think it's a pretty huge waste of resources.

It is what it is though, and I don't want to detract from the incredible work the team has done. It looks like it all works really well.

Awesome. Can you please confirm what kind of AA solution the final retail build will be using?

Haha yeah we need a high bitrate 60fps video one lap bandwidth be dammed i will download the 1 gig.

Wait wut you can earn money with twitch streaming?
Dang gonna cut harder for dat sixpack and play games semi nude.
Probably wont work as male does it?

Looks absolutely amazing. They really hit it out of the park. Ms has always had such a great UI and xbl experience, this looks no different.

I love how the video could play while rendering and continued to render even when it was in the background.

Great demo, 2 things I like most
Get notification while watching live tv and One unify guide or App feed
One place to get all my app feed update is quite handy.

I will say one thing negative tho, when that kinect started to follow the guy moving left and right, that shit is freaky as f***

I didn't like the friends app at all.

it's ugly and it requires loading? c'mon!

the rest was really smooth but it has a cost.

Wow

Such features

Impress

Much speed

(glad they put this together)

The friends app seems a little disjointed, aesthetically removed from the UI. I guess it is its own app now?

Did Forza look bad to anyone else? Other than that I was impressed with it all.

Yes, paused it at start of the forza gameplay and the white road lines looked dangerously sharp.

Nice OS (I would be tempted if I lived in US), but in UK I believe not much they showed would work here......

PS If they showed a sky HD integration I might be awayed

The games are there, the UI looks great, the DRM is gone.

They "only" need to hammer down the price OR explain to people why is it worth $100 bucks more.

Tough sell, IMO.

I am a Sony lover and am not getting a One (no surprises there) however I was really impressed by the switching and I do think the invite overlays on TV look cool. Skype was really impressive too and the way the Kinect follows the user is awesome.

However as expected the game focused stuff looked pretty bad. I thought the recording system is awful, you can only add a second video afterwards unlike PS4 where you can record at the same time. Not only that but you have to sit there waiting for the clip to render and it took about 20 seconds for a tiny clip. PS4 does this all in the background whilst you play on using the second ARM chipset.

Also what the hell have they done to Live?! that looks like a stripped down version of the "Whats new" section on PS4 pretty bland and bare bones.

Seems like its headed in the PC direction with lots of good but never great apps that you can stitch together to make a whole experience.

Having said that the view of the switching was impressive and I really liked the way kinect recognizes each user.

I got instantly bored when they were showing me the TV guide stuff though.

The funny part is, if they made it 399$, I know a ton of people who would go xbox over ps4 just fore the kinect.

Huge opportunity missed

Does anyone know if i roll up to my mate's house Kinect will automatically log me in on his machine as Terbinator once it sees me?
