Maybe they'd look sharper upscaled...
Upscaled from 1080p to what? I guess I am not getting a joke or something.

To the best of my knowledge, if you want to record something on the fly, you have the last 5 minutes to play with when you say 'record that'. I'm fairly certain that limit goes up significantly when you choose to record a game session in advance.
I think it is just too hard for some to finally give in and say something positive for a change. In their mind, it just has to be a train wreck, no matter what.
Me? I am more than happy to admit some of my venom against these features were wrong. I'm not going to lie to myself and say that this is not impressive or that I would have no use for any of this. It's actually pretty damn slick to have all of this working seamlessly and I would love to have something like this in my house.
Joystiq saw snap in action.

Not quite as fully featured as Media Center, but not too shabby a trade-off either. Sadly, it will not play MP3s stored locally at launch (only streamed). Penello said that won't be permanent.
Any reason why the big snap feature wasn't shown in all of 12 minutes ?
It is still not live, but using pre-approved assets. ESPN is not live and so forth. So nothing has really changed.
Incorrect. Every single thing you see in that video is live and coming directly off of the Xbox One console

I think too many people want to see the console burn and that is why those same people are calling this fake and no way representative of how it will work etc.
Ui looked impressive enough to make me think about canceling my ps4 preorder. I don't want an xbox one at launch. So I might just wait it out a bit. I have a feeling ps4's OS is very underwhelming at launch. It might be worth it to wait a bit before jumping into next gen to see what happens and what improves. Hard decision.

Yes, it's cool and all but I can't help but feel like gaming took the backseat for everything else, skype, watching TV and all. Definitely a different priority, not necessarily a bad thing, but...
The Verge just put up a full video demonstration, without any cuts:

Looks like snapping is working just fine.
Some people have some 'splainin to do.

Major, what I meant is that the inputted TV feed is not live TV. It was addressing a previous statement about having rights to re-broadcast live TV, sports and other such issues.
Is that incorrect?

Yup. You can see where MS was going with the all-digital plan too. You could jump to every game on your HD while on TV. Or while playing one game, you could get an invite to another and join right away. Physical copies destroys that ability.
This is probably a minority opinion here, but Xbox One became less appealing when they did the 180s. I'm not going next-gen for a while, I would have liked to see competing philosophies in action before making a decision.
As Angry Joe will tell you I am not a lawyer, so I can jus say this is real, live TV.
Snap isn't in the video tho.
Same.It seriously is making me wanting to hold onto my xbox one preorder lol

I'm with you on that opinion, which I hope we aren't crucified for.
That was one of the biggest reasons I even got hyped about next gen and was praying for a while that there could be some kind of opt in for the day one patch, but I guess with all they have going on they'd never have time to sort out all the logistics and work in time.
Imo the games aren't exactly any kind of leap and bound in terms of offering me something new (Killzone is Killzone, Forza is Forza BUT OMG WITH SHINY GRAPHICS THIS TIME), but the way the consoles could actually offer me content or integrate more with my every day tech use is what really caught my eye.
I still intend on that digital library and being able to insta-access all my games/insta-join game invites/etc, it just means MS and Sony get to keep their monopoly of digital libraries with zero competition on price (no, retail offering lower prices for physical is not competing if it isn't offering me the same complete experience as digital).
It will sting my wallet a little more, but I guess you have to pay for what you want.
Major, any specific reason why Snap wasn't shown in the various demonstrations? I know it's been talked about, but why is there no extensive footage of it in action?
