How to use your PS4 controller as a PC controller

You need to use x360ce for most modern PC games as they use the 360 pad(Xinput) standard. For directinput games, you will have to map the buttons yourself. The problem with this pad so far is that L2/R2 are mapped as buttons and X and Y rotation(causes camera to spin).

Using x360ce does nothing.
Mapping the buttons does nothing either since both the Left and Right are unrepairable from what I have tried.

Has anyone tried this - http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-DS4-To-XInput-Wrapper

Its based on the XInput Wrapper for the DS3 and it seems fairly simple to set up and use.

Video of how it works - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNk36TOQfuk

Trying to install this on Win 7 SP1 64 bit.

I follow the readme.txt instructions but when it is time to launch the scpserver.exe from the directory, it always fails and I get the Windows message "ScpServer.exe has stopped working" as soon as I double click on it.

I have the DS4 hooked up via USB - not paired over bluetooth. Any ideas? Not able to find much on the web in terms of troubleshooting this program.

You should probably ask the creator directly, post a reply on the thread that I linked to or hope that someone else here or there has the same issue and has resolved it.

Wish I had a DS4 to try all of this out.

Yikes. Was going to try this later tonight but this has made me a bit more cautious... The guys over at PCSX2 are usually quite trustworthy, too.

Do you mind if I ask what anti-virus you're using and what it claims the program is?

I personally scanned with MSE and Malwarebytes after installing it, and came back without any issues.

Tried the xinput wrapper over bluetooth, the response time and reliability are kinda terrible, any one else having this problem?

In other new, looks like someone on reddit is attempting to make the trackpad work, I've yet to be able to get the actual mouse portion working, but it seems like a few people have had success. You can find it here - http://www.ishgard.com/ps4pc

Same here.

I installed this yesterday. It worked fine when I played FFXIV. However my computer wouldn't shut down normally after I had finished and now it will not boot to Windows. I think a warning should be in the OP just to be on the safe side.

I uninstalled it and am back to using x360ce. I'll stick with this until there is an *official* driver update. No more of this motioninjoy xinput wrapper server bs for me.

Updates the OP but at this point I would like a mod to lock the thread until there is a good method to getting this to work.

I think there's a problem with my controller. Out of the box, when I hit the PS button, it flashes blue for a few seconds and then stops. When I plug it in to my PS3 or my PC, nothing happens. It flashes yellow/orange slowly but no drivers ever register or install and nothing responds to the controls or directional inputs on either the PS3 or PC.

Anyone having any issues with range? For a while, I've been using my DS3 in the living room with my PC in the bedroom about 30 feet away. No connectivity issues. With the DS4, I can't even begin to use it from my couch. I have to sit on the floor, about 5 feet closer to my PC. Even then, if I hold the controller in my lap it will give me extreme input delay. I have to hold it forward, just about a foot ahead. That solves it, but isn't even close to a viable option for playing games. If I'm playing in the bedroom, it's perfect.

Don't mean to further stretch the thread but can you please add in the previous xinput method you had. The new method is much more worrying given the drivers required. The previous method was simply a matter of copying files.
Using a cellphone now, will bring that method back when I'm at my PC

Also tried the method and it works. I have a problem though, whenever press left on the right analogue stick, it registers that I'm hitting RT.

Just got my DS4 to play nice with my bluetooth adapter and it's working fine as a dinput device, but it doesn't show up as a configurable device in x360ce. Does anyone here have any ideas on how to fix this?

Anyone know how to get a game to ignore the wireless controller and use the 360 emulated controller after you start the input wrapper?

I'm specifically talking about Volgarr The Viking.
Gamepad detection shows both x360 and wireless controllers. However, games like Volgar end up using the wireless controller and others ignore the fact that the 360 controller is there (Spelunky, Rogue Legacy).

Is there any way to shut the DS4 off when using it with the PC? I'm finding that it just stays on until the battery runs out.

So I got my DS4 working fine but somehow when I play LEGO Marvel on steam the game thinks there are 2 controllers installed and the screen gets split up, there must must be some setting that I am missing, if anybody have the game and can test it for me that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the same boat. Can't find a fix :/

Out of curiosity, has someone managed to figure out how to get the xbox360ce to work with Assassin's Creed IV on PC? Or does the fact that it requires the use of U-Play essentially prevent the use of a DS4?

(I have noticed that when I turn the DS4 on, U-Play doesn't register a wireless controller having been connected, which I suspect is the major issue.)

Just saw this was reopened. Awesome!

I meant to PM you OP but never got around to it. I couldn't boot to Windows after installing the Xinput wrapper tool because my SSD failed for a reason I don't believe is related to the tool. I did a little more research and the only report of a virus I've seen so far is in this thread so I THINK it's probably safe. I'm going to re-install it and try again. I'll report back if I experience another catastrophic failure.

Any luck getting this to work with Rayman Legends? No matter how I set 360ce it views the controller as a direct input device.

Why doesn't the guy make it open source? I just can't wait for a working driver...want to get rid of the 360 pad finally. :(

Is there a fix for the game registering two controllers yet? FIFA14 thinks I'm using two controllers with Xinput wrapper running

I too would like to know if there has been a solution for this problem. Trying to play Lego Marvel Super Heroes but when I press a button on the ps4 controller the game thinks I'm now using a second controller. I thought I was the only one experiencing this issue. It's slightly reassuring to know that others have encountered the same problem. Would love to know if a solution has been discovered to solve this issue?

So anyone using it as a wired controller like with the 360 one? I tried playing State of Decay earlier with it and it doesn't recognize it at all even though I made sure all the buttons and stuff worked just before with joy.cpl.

Should I just continue using my messed up 360 pad instead? I bought it used on amazon years ago and the wires inside the wire were showing and the tape I used to cover it is starting to come off and I don't have any at the moment. lol

I can report that version 1.1 works flawlessly with all my games. He also added a color slider so that you can make your LED light any color you want using the red-green-blue scale.

So is it workling just like the 360 pad now?
