Games you remember, names you don't

So I used to play this game on..PS2? I think. You controlled a car and all the NPCs in the game were cars. You'd drive around the world as your car and talk to other cars and upgrade your car and do like quests and races. Anyone remember what I'm talking about? It was kind of cartoony. Kind of.

Road Trip Adventure?
Or Cars :P?

Please tell me it's not Cars :)

Road Trip Adventure perhaps? Known better as Choro-Q for those who follow Japanese games.

EDIT:
Beaten to it.

I think this game was on the SNES, it was a platformer and you had to use different animals to get through the stage. the only unique thing about it was that at the end of the stage, you get chased by something (an animal i suppose) all the way back to the beginning.

I really don't remember much else. I know there was a world map, kind of like Donkey Kong Country. And I'm not sure if the being chased by an animal was for every stage, or just that one stage i remember.

Well, Claymates comes to mind as having a world map and using animals to beat levels: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypWPaFJ2fTI&feature=player_detailpage#t=101

Cars was surprisingly fun. My little brother made me play it for him quite a bit on Wii and it had its moments!

Hey, I'm not knocking the game! The request just had a ring of Homer Simpson to it, if it turned out to be Cars it would have been perfect :)

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over fifty, and if its speed dropped, the bus would explode! I think it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."

Ok, there's this indie game being made by like 1 or 2 guys.

It started off as a zombie game, but now it's some simulator/god game where you manage money/your town, and it's set in like the medieval period.

I CANT REMEMBER THE NAME! I want to check updates on how it's coming along.

I keep thinking "Out" something but don't remember the exact name. HELP!

Edit: Banished is the game

The game I'm thinking of is a free PC game that came out around 2005 or 2006. It was a fast paced side scrolling game that kind of looked like Metal Slug, but you aimed with the mouse. The artstyle was anime-ish. You could also leap really fast onto enemies and do melee attacks on them. The last boss of the first stage was a giant tank that took up like half the screen.

There's a game for Genesis that I can't remember for the life of me.
All I remember is that it was a shooter and you were in a jet. You went forward similar to Star Fox as well. I believe that the time of day changed as you progressed as well. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I'd love to track it down and see if it's still fun.

Edit: Oh, there's another game that I've been trying to track down as well. I used to play it on an old Verizon phone I had around 2003. It may have been a Nokia or something. The game was an rpg where you went around in a cave trying to collect treasure and find stairs/doors to get to the next level. Enemies moved a space on the map in sync with your movements as well.

So you move once, they move once. This one is killing me.

Edit again: Ok, I found the game after going on a digital tour of that old Kyocera Verizon phone. It was Cavern Crawl http://www.dragonlord.com/phonegames.html

Day/night and going forward makes me think of After Burner first?

There's one game I can't remeber...

It's probably quite old game (from the 90's most likely). It's a Karting Game, that had quite similar graphical style with the original Mario Kart for the SNES. I remeber that I played it with a very old windows PC. I also remeber, that one of the characters you could drive was a shark.

I'll give a virtual cookie to the one who knows the game I'm talking about :3. It's been bugging me for years.

A football (Soccer for the yanks) game in the arcades.

It never came on consoles as far as I know but it featured a team who could play totally in black. You could have special moves like Super Shot and Hyper Shot where the ball would hit the keeper but if he caught it it would send him into the net with him.

Also, dogs used to run onto the pitch every now and then. Even a stripper would come on and interrupt play.

I never EVER found out what it was called but I loved the thing. Any ideas anyone?

EDIT: This was something like fifteen years ago. And it was in a small arcade at a place called Woolecombe Bay in Devon.

I'm looking for a game that I used to play on my Commodore 64. It played and looked a bit like defender:

But I remember the 'environment' being drawn in blue and you weren't just going through 'levels', but it was a fully connected world, similar to Metroid. You were steering that little space ship through this bigger world and every screen had different challenges... does anyone have any idea which game I'm looking for?

Iridis Alpha?

Nah, that wasn't it. I remember that you were killed really easily and early on in the game there was a volcano that errupted every now and spawned an explosion that looked like a fist... I know all of this is super vague, but I used to play this game with my father and I never remembered what that game was called, though I remember that that game and Maniac Mansion were my absolute favorites. Shame.

Insects in Space?

(NB: Might be NSFW. Which does surprise me a little if you were playing it with your father, but it does have the blue landscape thing going on!)

Nope, you played a little spaceship, not a naked dude. And the environment art was very, very simple - not anywhere near as detailed as Insects in Space. I think it was just blue lines, but maybe I just remember the starting areas.

Trying to think of this game has been driving me nuts. I remember so very little of it, so it should be near impossible to identify, but here goes.

It was a cartoony animated kids game. It was interactive play (I think you just clicked on random crap). For some reason I feel like the main character that you control was a talking car.

I remember one part of the game you use your coins you either acquired or just have for free to put in a gum ball machine. That is like...the only part I remember.

EDIT: This game was made either in the late 90s or very early 2000s

Oh, one more I've come up with that seems to fit everything you've said:

I remember this Snes game where the MC was using a scythe and I think but I'm not certain that it was about grim repears. It was all very gothic.

Is there a SNES game that has a "results" at the end? Specifically I'm just wondering if there is a game that told you stuff like score, kills, deaths, etc. I'm trying to think of some but for whatever reason I can't think of anything during that era.

That was very vague. Are you trying to find a specific game, or just asking a random question?

i remember a ps1 game where you have (i think) 4 different playable characters. i played co-op with my brother and it was kind of a beat em' up, but beating up bad guys in masses. you could use baseball bats, throw stuff and i think even firearms... and i remember helicopters... enemies jumping out of helicopters... and a hangar-level

kind of like double dragon for ps1

i know my descriptions are crappy q_q

Any info on genre? 2D platformer? Top down action? Super Ghouls and Ghosts had a scythe as a weapon and was pretty blummin' gothic.

Yes! I used to play the shit out of this demo for PS1 as a kid but i cant remember the game. It had a little kid with pink hair beating up pigs. :lol

256px-Tomba!_NTSC.png

It's up on psn now.

There was this kid's game on the pc that I used to play. You picked a character (the one that I chose was always dressed like a football player) and that character went to sleep and went into the dream world. On the cover there was a guy that had a genie tail but I don't remember much else.

There was also a demo that I used to play on the dreamcast that involved animals shooting guns or something. It was on the same disk as Sonic Adventure and MDK

Dream Zone?
(Fun fact: This is one of the first games released by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin, the founders of Naughty Dog)

Fur Fighters?
