Show is continuing its upward trend. It'll be interesting to see how next episode connects to Thor 2.
A staff that imbues power? eh?

This show is like the PS3 hitting it's stride a few years back. I mean it is, but not really.. but it kind of is? I enjoyed it, keep getting better!

So I just watched the episode, and I was kinda distracted towards the end so I may have missed it. So the agent that apparently mothered Skye is dead?

Legit speculation:
But of course May will be revealed to be Skye's mother.

Loved the stinger and Coulson's frustration with not knowing what happened. Agree with the poster that said "Tahiti is a magical place" being a call and response thing.

Eh, I enjoyed this week's procedural storyline a good deal more than they did, and while I continue to hope for more new-to-MCU Marvel characters/elements, this episode by my count had as many as the first six episodes combined (Hand and the Overkill Horn, versus Lola and Graviton). But most of their other points are hard to disagree with; Skye was particularly annoying this week, and the writers really, really need to step up the pace on the serialized plotlines.

'Though when it comes to that last point, this week was at least a start; Coulson now definitely knows that something's up with his resurrection, and Coulson/May appear to have some stake in finding out Skye's backstory. Show needs more Centipede, though.

Liked seeing Sitwell again but it was cool to see The Hub as it reminded me of the scenes from the latest Winter Soldier trailer regarding S.H.I.E.L.D.

Glad to see Fitz out of his shell more while also Simmons was learning to break a few rules. Ward seems to be developing a personality while the Coulson/May friendship is growing more. Looking forward to learning about Skye's backstory as well as more about the team.

Please show more things from Thor 2... I want to know if they get to deal with the fallout from the movie.

Ok, tonight's episode was pretty excellent. Damned excellent, actually. Fitz was awesome. Ward was pretty awesome. Simmons WAS ADORABLE. Skye was hot and tolerable. Coulson and May's tai chi talk was awesome. Victoria Hand really gives off the Queen Bitch vibe. Also, Sitwell!

Good stuff.

Man this show is so painfully bad. I was expecting more muthafuckin powers by now. Sigh....now I have to settle for Tomorrow People.

Victoria Hand's casting is adequate. Not that it matters...she dies in the comics. I have a crush on Elizabeth Henstridge; that accent and face :3

ERMYGERD!
The female half of Fitzsimmons is now my favorite eye-candy on this show. Move over Skye, she looks like an adorable and non-anorexic version of Keira Knightly.

That was really, really dull. First episode since the second that I found myself checking the clock. Some of the character work is good but man, they need to step up with their procedural plots because this one was agonizingly routine.

It wasn't clear whether that dead woman in the photo was Skye's mother or the agent that dropped her at the orphanage.

Ratings down again last night to a new low, 2.2 demo and 6.63m viewers.

Ratings have been dropping every single week, not a good sign imo. Things should have stabilized by week 7.

I feel like the narrative about the show has basically cemented, at this point. Even people who have never watched the show have heard variations on that Penny Arcade comic above. SHIELD isn't "that superhero show" or "That spy show" or even "That Marvel show" - it's "That show where nothing happens."

Whether it actually IS that or not, once people have proceeded to punchline status on that premise, it's an uphill battle.

Honestly, a lot happened this episode. Coulson is starting to suspect more about his death, we got some of the Euro geek characterization.

We learned more about Skye's past.

And do we trust Shield was thrown over the team as well.

I mean the last two episodes have been the best by far.

This just comes off as nitpicking now.

Whelp. I guess that's that. Must be extremely disappointing for Disney. I'll enjoy the rest of this season knowing it'll likely be the last one.

Yeah. The show had a rought start and came after a string of pretty massive films, so expectations were understandably high. I believe Agents of SHIELD has become a bit of "that crappy Marvel show" instead of the legitimate TV extension of the MCU. Which is sad, because the last couple of episodes were solid. This is the kind of quality the show needed to have since Day 1. I hope it keeps getting better.
