I played more Sega Racing Transformed with the kids today, 3 players, one on the gamepad is great as the TV is just split by two. Great and very very crazy tracks, specially the last ones.
Just bought a Wii U. Surprisingly, there were no shortages.

Yeah, I just tried Mario Galaxy last night for the hell of it and I was pretty stunned at how good it looked thanks to HDMI and the Wii U's upscaling.
It still looks jagged to shit, but it didn't even look leagues away worse from the ps3/360 like it did on the Wii over component.
Im downloading the update now.
Man this is some hi tech shit right here. I was giddy as fuck when the pad hooked up to my television controls. The pad is a bit bigger than I expected but its really, really comfortable.
The system itself is just beautiful. Simple, sleek and sexy.

It's really one of those things that seems like it would be ugly and uncomfortable when you see it in pictures.
But then you hold it, and you get this sudden clarity where everything clicks and you say "Hot damn, this thing is perfect!"

Traded my 360 and a stack of games on Wednesday for the Zelda Limited Edition console (Need that Hyrulian script around it 
) and got Wonderful 101 and ZombiU alongside it.
WW is WW and looks gorgeous.
Wonderful 101 is deceptively difficult. Went in expecting it to be fairly simple, at least in the first few levels and ramp up, but no, got my arse handed to me multiple times on Normal. The game has a cliff face as a difficulty curve. But I'm loving the cheesiness and humour in the game.
ZombiU I'm rather suprised at. I went in expecting an alright, but fairly "launch title" game, and, while I've only played an hour or so, it seems quite deep and interesting, it really shows off the hardware features.
From the e-manual, it sounds like you can use the sewers to fast travel to the same area as your now-zombified previous character. Not sure if thats what you meant.
EDIT: OH! And I checked out the Rayman Legends demo. Castle Rock has made me want to rush out and buy the game. Now. But everywhere is closed

There isn't a compelling offer listed for Black Friday nor does it seem there will be. The Best Buy and Walmart offers, while nice, don't exactly scream for holding out and daring the Black Friday rush.

Its possibly just a matter of getting use to it after using a 360 pad for the past 8 years, but I find it slightly uncomfortable to hold with the buttons swapped with the right stick and index fingers on the ZR/ZL buttons for Zelda. I'm also not the only one, as a friend said he's had the same issue. Again, may just need some adjustment period, its not caused issue with me playing it, just find myself adjusting my hand position more than I'd like.
It is, but until Nintendo introduce an account linked system rather than hardware linked, I'm going to hold of digital copies where I can, unless it's a really good deal. Also, its fairly expensive in the UK (I think its £40, whereas most shops have the retail copy for £30ish and Uplay shop has it for £20 atm).
Couldnt find any upcoming BF deals, I could afford it and I recently cleaned out my PS3 backlog so I needed somethin FRESH.
Using my browser as a multimedia centre lol. Works so well. The tv remote function is a godsend. I lost the remote for the bedroom tv. Can't loose the wiiupad it's so big lol.
It's a fantastic little console with fantastic games.

-Time will vary depending on your internet connection, but it should be alot shorter than back when the system got launched.
-Yes, if your HDTV had a bad scaller, chances are they would look crisper on the Wii U. Xenoblade, Pandora's Tower, and Mario Galaxy are good ways to really compare between the quality of component vs HDMI.
-Depends on the number of titles on your VC/WiiWare. Once you have an eShop/MiiVerse/NNID account it will also link it to your Wii account and thus know if you already have purchased those titles. The option to upgrade them to WiiU's VC is up to you.
Titles you've already purchased that have been discontinued from the Wii Shopping Channel will still transfer. However, there are some titles/apps like Lost Winds/Netflix that won't transfer. There are very few and far between.

yeah, the gamepad resolution is 480p widescreen, which is the exact same resolution as the Wii. it's perfect for it.
The Barbie Dreamhouse Party community is even sad

Mine was taking ages too when I got it. If you set the IP address up manually it seems to work better, the DHCP is screwed for some reason so try that if you haven't already

Haha, NSMBU is pretty good but that video to me doesn't make it seem like GOAT. I think the core gameplay of SMW will always resonate with me the most. It's a bit simpler, but there's nothing wrong with that.

What? You're never too old for a Lego game. Especially not for Lego City Undercover. There are many funny popular culture references which are clearly targeted at older gamers (Matrix, Schwarzenegger movies, Indiana Jones etc.). I doubt children get half of the gags found in LCU. Children enjoy it because it's Lego and because of the slapstick, older gamers enjoy it because of the gags and references (and slapstick of course).

You don´t need to wait for the update. Just say no and start playing Nintendoland. The update will load in the background. I´m still laughing at people when they complain about the long waiting time.
Honestly, I feel adults will get more enjoyment out of the writing in LCU than kids will. They might like the gameplay (which is also great) but the writing is top notch. Best of any Lego game.
Re the Wii games through HDMI thing: I noticed a substantial improvement over my old Wii component setup simply because the video output chip on the Wii has always been shit, at least on the systems I've owned. Reds bled like crazy, levels were too high. GameCube S-Video looked leagues better. Audio was also way too high and would distort through some devices (though I had one TV that could deal with it.)
The component cables are the green, red and blues with the red/whites right? I always get those and composites screwed up.
I used the components for my Wii so Im curious to see if there's a difference with the HDMI. It's also gonna depend on games too Im sure. Im not expecting Twilight Princess to be clear of all jaggies believe me.
But for something like Muramasa, Im expecting something a bit more crisp and clear. Hopefully Im right.

Someone had to board, design, and animate that whole sequence. lol that's a whole lotta effort for what is essentially a progress bar.

This system shouldve just been called Wii2. Thats what it is. A simple, but awesome evolution of Wii.
I live in crazy South Florida like a half hour from Miami and my connection is usually spot on awesome. This just took a loooong time.
It was probably sitting in the back of GameStop for eight months or more. Haha. The model has lots to catch up on.

Sadly, the service that Nintendo uses for their updates is a crap shoot. It all depends on which server you're connected to. Some of them are blazing fast. Some are dirt slow. Restarting the progress helps a lot.

. I also agree that there's nothing wrong with simplicity, and hope you didn't think I was knocking Super Mario World. But I find that there are more ways of playing levels in NSMBU, and while the levels are a lot of fun to play alone, I feel that they really shine in the local multi-player mode, whether you want to troll each other or co-operate - I wonder how many times those players in that clip played together, and how well they knew each other's game to achieve that level of tightness.It doesnt really bother me. Nintendo always nails this peaceful joy that the company has always realized since the 80s of what to severely tap into.
This whole loading up process has been a blast. No one else has a setup like this. They kindly ask you for you preferences, awesome Squaresofty Nintendo music plays when youre doing it. It's already like "Holy shit, am I 12 again?"
