Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | November 2013 | Tearaway into a new world

Because the BST thread is nearly only visited by Americans I'll ask here. Any german Vitabro interested in buying my 32gb memory card?

There's folks in there from all over.
I had a guy from Israel talking to me about one of the things in my list... unfortunately shipping killed it...

Couldn't hurt to post in there anyway, you wienerschnitzel. :P

I love seeing these posts talk about remote play. People saying they're playing these indies and knack just casually. Awesome :)

I would love a twitch tv app or something for the vita to watch the PS4 livestreams.

You'd think that would be coming, would seem silly to not have that free marketing.

It probably is coming, just like the crunchyroll and hulu apps are coming...

Yeah I noticed this the other day too. I was at my gf's house and wanted to show her what Vita TV could do, but there wasn't a single promotion video on the PSN store (despite promotion videos existing elsewhere). Also the release date was 11/14, but they only sent a message out to JP Vita users on 11/15, which said "going on sale today!" One day late guys...

There also was barely any info about the VitaTV in the last two dengeki mags leading up to the release of the VitaTV.
Makes me wonder if SCEJ is just waiting for the release of the PS4 to fully advertise it due to it being a "perfect accessory" to your PS4.

Just bought a Vita on eBay with Persona 4 Golden and a 32GB memory card for $200, can't wait to start getting back into handhelds and retire my old fat PSP.

Could anyone tell me which Vita games are either free or discounted via PS Plus? Thank you!

After getting my PS4 and actually using it...

my best experience was playing Resogun on my vita. Man, it was so amazing.

Now to test setting up a hotspot on my phone, cuing downloads on my PS4 while at work on my vita, and playing whatever else.

Don't retire your PSP :( It's good to always have a backup.

US PS+ currently has

Gravity Rush
Uncharted
Wipeout
GTA LCS
Hotline Miami
Sine Mora

for free

JP PS+ currently has

Guilty Gear
DJMAX
Gravity Daze
Soduko

for free

dunno about EU

Ys (Silver Anniversary Edition) and Tearaway for me this month, both pre-ordered on amazon. Sadly seems that Ys won't have release-date delivery though :/

If you're still on the fence about Tearaway, Amazon and other retailers have some really nice pre-order incentives for it. Be sure to look into it.

Such a huge month for games. Not only PS4 launch and The Nintendo double-whammy on the 22nd with Zelda & Mario, but TWO Vita games, all of which has me a little drained :) But I'm so very happy T__T

Ah, sorry bad wording on my part :P, its more like taking a backseat especially since I have a lot of UMD-only games that will never experience the awesome Vita screen (Crisis Core FF7, Kingdom Hearts BBS among others). Thank you for the list!

Holy crap Batman, I just saw an Injustice: Ultimate Edition TV spot and it mentioned Vita. That's the second time a TV ad has mentioned the platform this year in North America ;_;

Compare that to the DS.

DS sold 30 million in Japan. No definition of the word "niche" describes the PSP, because if it was that means SCE has never had a non-niche platform in Japan.

Compare that to the DS.

Lol, that comparison is wrong on so many levels. By that metric almost every past, current and future console would be niche then.

The DS was a beast, but if the PSP sold 20 million units in Japan, even if it couldn't touch the DS in sales, you simply can't call it niche.

yuppp same here. Crisis Core is the only reason why I still turn my on from time to time. Can understand why SE can't put KH on the PSN store due to Disney legal issues and what nots but Crisis Core should be up there
Still, PSP has a wonderful library that can't be matched.
Sold a majority of my PSP library though. Here's are the ones I have left. (will be getting rid of third birthday soon)

That Type-0 cover is so boss.

About Crisis Core, I remember someone mentioning there were licensing issues with the game's theme song (Why by Ayaka).

I'd SO buy CC if they ever manage to sort that out and put it on the PSN.

Picked up UMvC3 because of the sale. Wow, people weren't kidding when they talked about how nice it looked. So wish you could take screenshots. Also, Phoenix Wright is my hasubando and by far the most fun to use.

I am telling you. Vita with LTE and remote play is a game changer. Nine of that bullshit restriction with the 3g vitas
Do it Sony.

If you like shoot'em-ups that aren't Bullet Hell, Strikers 1945 Plus is $3 until Tuesday.
DJ Max Portable 3 is also $20 for this week only. It's a rhythm game though.

So much love for Tearaway in this thread is going to end up making me purchase it. Damn you guys! I don't even have time to play the games I own already and here I am looking at my credit card...

Anyone here own this case?

Would you recommend it?
[/IMG]

I do, and yes. It's got slots for 4 games, it's indestructible and it has a piece of padded microfiber that covers the screen when it closes.

If you want 100 percent protection for your Vita, I'd recommend it.

Its a great game but definitely not your typical jrpg.
I only played the original Atelier Marie so I don't know what all's happened with the franchise since then, but that game struck me as more of a character-raising simulation (Graduation, Wizard's Harmony, Princess Maker, etc.) than an RPG.
But they call them RPGs on the official websites so eh whatever I guess.

Man it's been 2 days since GE2 came out and nipponyasan still hasn't shipped (ヽ´ω`)

At this point would've paid a bit extra elsewhere to have had faster handling times

I learned never to Platinum anything anymore after aiming for Trophies made Dragon's Crown feel empty.

Never again. ;__;
The game that broke me on platinums was another century's episode R

Got everything except the 11-hour last chase trophy, prepared a spreadsheet and everything then gave up after an hour

You have five costume choices for the head, face, body, and rope.

My problems with the game stem from completely forgettable and dull level design, a weird lack of music, sluggish platforming (and when things get hectic the frame rate takes a hit), and what I felt was a poorly implemented grapple mechanic. There are times where I'd jump, and have to instantly grapple to another hook, but because I can't control the direction of the rope it sometimes went to an unintended destination.

Okay, it definitely sounds like a stripped down version:

When it comes to costumes, the 3DS version has 19 heads, 8 faces, 18 bodies and 7 ropes.

The game does have music, it's not lacking at all and it sounds fine to my ears. I haven't experienced any frame rate drops either.

The game has challenge mode with 30 challenges divided in bronze, silver and gold in difficulty.

The game has 45 achievements similar to a trophy list.

You get 4 extra objectives instead of 3 in the main game: collecting all nuts, collecting all fruit to receive new costume pieces, time trial and defeating all enemies. So, you collect 1200 nuts a year instead of 1000.

There is turbo mode that I haven't tried yet, not sure what it does.

I agree about the grapple hook, though it might need more time to get used to it in my case. I also thought the jumping was weird at the start, I got more used to it.

The game has dull designs, but it never came over as trying to be like those type of platformers. It seemed very skill based and focused on clearing objectives. The levels were well designed from that perspective. At least that's all based on me 100% clearing year one and doing some of the year 2 levels.

The vita version is PSM, could that be the reason why it's missing stuff and has framerate problems?

Phoenix Wright is extremely hard to use efficiently, but very rewarding. He still sucks overall though :P

That native res and flawless 60fps is indeed very nice.

Warframe has the worst remote play controls. You aim down the sights with left dpad and your sword attack is with down dpad. wat

Wait... what?!

Hmm : /

That would explain the music issues (PSM has a problem with multiple audio tracks running at once) and the frame rate dips, but not the missing modes, etc.

LOL ChieGAF is gonna come down hard on you bro!

Yukiko is the superior choice anyways. #TeamYukiko.

Don't know how much of this is spoilers, but I'll tag it anyway.

Went Yukiko first, dumped her for Marie later. Really wanted to go Rise, but her "legs wide open" stance really irked me for some reason.

I just started on P4G. I just saw the start screen animations and I already got chills. I think I'll love this game.

Edit: I am excited to play but then I remembered I am busy tomorrow so gotta rest, not sleep, early. I gotta package some goods to be sent off to the typhoon Haiyan victims. If I could so kindly request of you guys, even a little bit of donation helps. It doesn't have to be me specifically but any organizations currently helping my country. Every bit helps. My uncle and aunt are there so I appreciate it if you could help guys.

Once that's over and I get to play P4G, I don't think I'll be able to come back to GAF for awhile. I might get a teeny bit addicted. It happened with P3.

Don't date any of the girls until their all introduced. A certain someone stopped Yukikos advances right in her tracks. Anddddddd, make the game last as long as freaking possible. I burned through in 2 weeks and regretted it. Make it last month's if possible.

Will do.

I will complete a day, everyday. Realtime. I'm gonna start playing when mine and the game's calendars match.

On a serious note, I have 3 retail games and all are unfinished. I'm gonna mix them up so I don't get burned out. If someone is willing to give me their trial 30 day PS+ code, that will give me an additional 4-6 games. I don't think I'll get burned on any of the games if that is the case. :)

Edit: Oh we will discover your butter. DetectiveGAF will. I'm already ringing them to look for clues.

Edit2: What's the use for online in P4G? It keeps asking me every time I turn in on.

I'm almost done, I've spent more than 100 hours and about 7 months.

I might as well chime in on the girls stuff, Yukiko is the way to go. Kanji is the best character though.
