I currently have a PS4 pre-ordered, but I'm really uncertain as to whether I'm actually gonna buy it or not on the 29th. My hype meter was maxed out up until a month ago, now not so much...

such behaviour is frowned upon by some of my mates ... but zero fucks given ..

Don't worry you won't be judged in here fellow GAFfer. I never judge anyone, it's your hobby and to be honest Gaming is a timeless thing. You can have fun with a game released today or 20 years ago and still have great fun.

Great to know you have yours already pre-ordered and paid. Now we play the waiting gun together.
 
There's no way PSN is going to hold up in two weekends time. Any word on whether 1.50 will still be the update to get or whether there will be a 1,51 by that time?

I'm going to try grabbing it ahead of time and do the USB update route.

Every time I start a conversation my wife says if it's PS4 related she is not interested lol.

Do you know the process of upgrading the firmware via USB?

Also, do you have a link to the firmware update.

Tips I've got from the launch threads:

The USB stick needs to be FAT32 formatted and you need to create the folder structure yourself (i.e. PS4 > UPDATES > firmwarefile.whatever)

The process isn't automatic - you need to go through a menu structure on the PS4 once you boot it to select and install the update.

I'm honestly starting to think we got less. With launch in the US and Black Friday coming, it wouldn't surprise me. I have mine pre-ordered on Amazon so that's cool but it would be good if they had more for EU since this is Playstation Land. Let's hope they have alot :)
 
Up till 2007 I lived in the UK and I remember the agonizing wait for previous consoles. The ps2 in particular was so long. So have fun over the next two weeks with all these console launches.
 
My Wife is the same, they just don't seem to understand, but then she gets all excited about Joey Essex being in I'm a celebrity ffs.
The thing is I've pre-ordered from tesco and she works there so i need her to come at midnight for her Staff discount so gotta keep her sweet.

Hopefully. I seem to remember Jim Ryan saying that pre-orders were a lot higher than for PS4, so they know that demand is high.
 
So, I have the PS 4 preordered, but did not order any games. I plan on doing the PS+ and free stuff first and wait on price drops for BF3, Killzone or NFS. Anybody else doing that?
 
Looking back when the release date was announced the 29th seemed like an eternity away. But November seems to be motoring along nicely.

Hmm. Someone on AVForums just had an email from Asda to say their PS4 order has been cancelled. I remember there being confusion regarding whether a voucher code was needed to order so not sure if that's the reason.

If it is, then I'm screwed as I cancelled my ShopTo order and I'd never get one for release day if Asda cancel mine :/

Fingers crossed I can find a system on launch day, I cancelled both of my pre-orders earlier this week and have been filled with remorse ever since ;_;

I only need to work on 3 or 4 saturdays a year and one of them is November 30th. FML
Might just haul the PS4 into work on that day. Anybody know if the PS4 works alright on a 1650x1050 monitor?

If that was the same one I heard about, I thought it was due to the guy trying to get it shipped to a different address than his billing address. Which isn't that surprising, a lot of company's won't ship high value items to another address.

Edit: Then again it isn't. I'm not sure why his was cancelled. I heard some people who pre-ordered late were getting errors on trying to order, may be to do with that.
 
Damn, watching tons of MP videos on youtube sure isn't making the wait any easier...

Anyone know if The Pinball Arcade will be ready for EU launch?
Heard they needed to fix some "small things" to get it approved by Sony, so I doubt we'll see it till the end of the year. :(

At least Zelda will be here on Friday, so that should make the remaining week go by a lot faster.

How in the world is it that much? The console itself is only $400. Even at 25% VAT(Not sure if any other European Country has higher than that) that's only $100, plus up to $50 for fees.
