rofl this is really piss-yourself-worthy.

Omg, hilarious :)

Jesus, gaming is screwed. You know what, I actually want a complete video game market crash. Maybe then we can get some semblance of reason. Do people really pay for this shit and not think about it. Its like they removed MS points... to add more MS points but under a different set of generic monopoly money

I get its expensive to make a game, but hate this microtransaction bullshit. Im assuming they aren't skewing gameplay and mechanics to force you to pay.. are they?

Im not a fan of this model, but as long as the gameplay isnt designed around it I dont care if you can pay to skip ahead etc. I guess its better than paying more for the game.

Obscuring real dollars with bullshit premium currency is a common tactic for free to play games. It makes it easier to spend, because you're really only involved in dropping real money once and then spending premium currency is psychologically easier. Its shady bullshit used to optimize in game stores that want to train frequent purchasing behavior.

This is not something that should exist in pay to own games, like Forza.

Hi all, just wanted to quickly clarify the situation.

The pricing displayed for Token Packs in Forza Motorsport 5 is incorrect. As a result, transactions are not paying out the correct number of tokens. We are resolving this issue immediately and expect players to see the correct pricing structure and accurate token values later today. Any player that has purchased one of these packs will be credited the appropriate amount of tokens when the issue has been resolved.

Any chance someone could update the OP?

How did T10 let something like this slip through the cracks? What are the "correct" prices?

I could not believe the pricing could be correct. Way too much for tokens. However the game is still far roo much of a grind if it really does take 1 hour to earn 110,000cr. To get that Lotus F1 would take nearly 60 hours alone! There were cars in Forza 4 I never got beause they were way too much money.

There really shouldnt be microtransactions in the first place.Especially for a full priced game. The game industry is looking at dark times.

depressing :-(
How has unlocking content become so common place.? Your customer is working long hours in order to afford your game. The whole point is it is a GAME, designed to be fun, to get you away from work...

Ohh! you want all the content you just paid for, well you need to work for it! either in game or in the real world. And while we are at it we will misrepresent the value of that work.

What really irritates me is that not only is this *stupidly* expensive (up to $140?!? wtf) but you can bet it won't be enough to unlock everything. Urgh. $60 game, $50 day one dlc, $140 token dlc plus ~$500 if you want to use a wheel that is compatible...

/frustrated

Any chance you guys can change tokens to actual currency and just buy the cars outright instead of being forced into packs? How about making the game F2P with a few cars and we can purchase everything else?

There's no need for throwing that line in there. The first line was sufficient enough.

Why, the transaction model is already in. Why not go the full route instead of paying full price for the game, and then be offered to make additional "token" purchases. I think it's a valid question. If tokens make a great deal of money with Forza 5, will Forza 6 abandon the retail price altogether in favor of full IAP model

But it isn't necessary like it would be in F2P. I took it as a rhetorical comment though, so that may have been my bad. Apologies if so. I just don't think that someone from the team coming in here to inform us on things is the right time to start sharpening the pitchfork.

Again, though, if I misunderstood your intention I apologize.

I mostly race online with friends and that is the quickest way to a small fortune. Especially 10-12 lap races with 10-12 people.

I'm not trying to pitchfork the developer. I would simply like to know why include both. Why not go full retail, or full IAP. Why not offer both. People can buy the full game, or get it for free and simply pay tokens to get what they want.

Because its a play to grab more money from their consumers. No other reason. It appears that Microsoft wants to get some of that whale money that F2P games see, where a small percentage of "qualified" customers spend tons of money. But they also want to maintain the entry cost to maximize profits.

I don't know why y'all are surprised the whole theme of the Xbox One is to maximize profits . Thats how it was sold to Microsoft's executives thats why it got the green light. It was Matrick's ultimate milking machine.

So what is the correct pricing then?

I will not buy Forza 5 tommorow because of all this stuff. I loved Forza 2 and 3. With Forza 4 it started and Forza 5 takes all this to the next level. No Racer for me this time with Xbox Launch maybe i will give Need for Speed a shot.

Gotta love those denominations where you either have extra tokens or not enough tokens...never the exact amount. /sarcasm.

And what is that, the minimum price for a Lotus F1 is nearly $88!?!

Any word that you can combine in-game money with tokens?

So it sounds like there's a problem with the interface in the game itself? Presumably the structure shown in the XBL store is the intended one.
