Hope it comes to next gen as well, but my PS3 is ready and not going anywhere.
Kinda sucks how Atlus are always a little behind the console race though, in Europe Persona 4 for the PS2 was released the same day as Resident Evil 5. It had no hope of selling

oh god, if they stagger a PS4 release, then a vita one...Atlus i triple dipped on Resident Evil 1, i'm not doing that again. i'm not about that life.

i get your point, but ports take resources, and Atlus runs an extremely tight ship - if they didn't do it for the huge Wii userbase, why would they now?

Yeah! But it would have been nice to see a bit more.
Sony really need to push for a PS4 Port. How should these Games be succesful in the West if they are never released on the most recent Hardware? Especially now with no Backwards Compatibility.
Persona 3 was released a few Months before PS3 in Japan, and after the PS3 in the West.
Persona 4 obviously even later.
Now Persona 5 will be released at best 1 Year after PS4, Probably it will be more like 1,5 to 2 years with localization.
Do something Sony! If you do nothing yourself for JRPGs since the PS1 you could at least do something like that.

Yeah. I'm bummed too. Most of the hype to them was the handheld games, but P5 gets zero, just a splash page saying its coming.

Well Catherine was on 360 as well and I remember it selling decent.
Common sense would dictate that Atlus release a 360 version to get more sales
At least we will get trailers and gameplay and stuff.
UNLESS they copy Square ****ing Enix.

It is very satisfying to get even a few seconds if it means getting official confirmation of P5's existence.
Is the 360 even a viable option in Japan? I get that it makes sense for the West, but....Japan.
They might do it in the US, similar to MGR.

Probably pretty soon assuming that Dengeki Playstation was referring to this when they said that they'd have a cover story for a "certain major new title" in their next issue. It's due out this week.
But they are copying the norm these days: DS2, UC4, The Order - reveals with no gameplay. These teasers are diseases that must end.

It was a foolproof plan.
Lower everyone's hopes so deep into the earth that they're sticking out the other end of the planet, so that even a contentless reveal can be lauded this loudly instead of, you know, people deservedly calling out on Atlus for what is a shite reveal.

because any further reveal for P5 will diminish the hype for the above 2 games

This is true. It may even be long enough for the PS4 to start doing crazy well and for them to decide it's worth porting there as well. BELIEVE!
How are we sure it's not for a western release?
LOL, not really sure if there is a big enough fanbase on the 360 to even warrant a port. I'd be surprised if it did more than 10k.
It makes more sense to release the game on PS3 as it has a much larger user base early on.

cost of 360 development + marketing + distribution = may not be worth it
it's opportunity cost. sharing your resources across two platforms will provide different results compared to focusing them on 1 platform.
No there's no common sense there. Waste of time. Niche JRPGs always sold better on PS3/Sony Consoles for the most part.

I don't think that they care all that much about the side games to delay any info about P5 especially after so long...
We will likely get info periodically unless they go stupid and don't tell us anything until Summer 2014...
What are these heavy hitters and how many are first party Nintendo titles?
Because if it was it would've been said to be for both in the video. Just like Catherine and the fighting game. Don't get your hopes up

Seems I misremembered, there was more than six months between SMT IV's announcement and release. Persona 4 came out a few months after it was unveiled, which is what I was thinking of.
