Yeah, another Kanye thread. But this is just too good. (Searched, attack if old.)

The rapper Kanye West said publicly this week that President Obama has been limited in his presidency because black people don't have the same "level of connections" as Jews and "oil people."

"Man, let me tell you something about George Bush and oil money and Obama and no money," West said in an interview with New York City's 105.1 FM that was surfaced Friday by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. "People want to say Obama can't make these moves or he's not executing. That's because he ain't got those connections. Black people don't have the same level of connections as Jewish people. Black people don't have the same connection as oil people."

West made the comments while speaking on 105.1 FM's The Breakfast Club program. A short clip from the interview was uploaded to YouTube. Watch it here:

The guy is heading for a breakdown.

It's a shame, I'm such a fan of his music and despite all the ranting he has done he's had such an impact on hip-hop, popular music and the fashion in hip hop culture as a whole.

He needs to move out of the country or seek help.

It's out of context. It's less a "THIS MINORITY IS PART OF THE N.W.O ILLUMINATI" and more him pointing out the lack of political clout and organization that African-Americans suffer as a marginalized minority.

But since he's been on a 2013 Kanye Rants Tour this week it's going to be taken wrong. Hell, there's even rap songs ABOUT his rants nowadays.

What's wrong with what he said there? If you want to bring up the whole 40 minute interview then you'll need a new kanye tab on gaf.

It's targeting/stereotyping a group of people and assigning them blame.

It would be like me saying "I'd love to live in that neighborhood except there's black people"
That's.. Not even close to analogous. He's not blaming anyone- he's stating a reality.

If the wording is tripping you up- swap in white people for Jews.

Language is a fun thing.

You can say things like yeah what he said was dumb and ultimately completely wrong, but his point is true right?

Well no, it's literally not.

Exactly, that's why we had all those Jewish Presidents.

That's what I thought.

It's silly with the wording but Israel backing is very important in us politics. It's not "jewish" moreso than just religious lobbyists

Is this a reach? What exactly is wrong here?

What? Obama is the President United States of America and Kanye West is playing the race card in justifying any shortcomings from Obama.

Oh and the constant racial Jewish comments etc etc (This is like the 3rd interview he's opened his trap about them).

ITT: People don't recognize the complimentary essence of modeling Black Economic Empowerment motions to the class success of modern Jews and Whites.

We just react to a tactless, egomaniac.

I think that would be best. If someone says white people have more power than black people, the general response is "Yeah, durp". It's just common sense. But if you say the same about Jewish people it becomes hate speech. It didn't sound like he was assigning blame at all.

I think Kanye uses Jews given his experience with Hollywood and the music industry- in those spheres their influence is undeniable

He's not blaming them or criticizing them- he's just saying that blacks don't have that level of power or influence. And that true.

Kanye isn't exactly an Obama supporter. He caught flack during this exact interview for pretty much threatening the guy. Did you just assume he was defending Obama or did he give you a reason?

So? I grew up in a rough area but I don't use poorer people and black synonymously. Or in a negative light. The guys just an shit. Not
Mel Gibson levels yet. But he's clearly a shit

Man you really dont get it. He's not referring to them in a negative light.

He's stating a reality- which is actually borne out by the numbers.

I'm pretty sure that the Republicans would just as harsh to a WASP president. It's not about connections and networking. It's about demographics and politics. Nothing else matters.
