There is a complete demographic clash there. It's like Miley Cyrus opening for a Cradle of Filth concert.![]()
Why do people think X is likely? X is very much a niche game, not the kind of thing to show off at VGX.
Lets be honest, it'll be a game or a clip or a piece of news no will care about.... except for the 4 or 5 super hardcore Nintendo fans who'll any Nintendo news as good news.
I'm not sure it's that level of demographic clash. Stylistically, X fits in far better with other big VGX titles than any of Nintendo's more colorful properties - they've emphasized a young male protagonist, in a futuristic, semi-realistic looking world in which you have epic third-person, action-RPG-style fights against dinosaurs and robots and whatever else. If presented the right way, they could generate significant interest among VGX viewers.
If it seems like no one is talking about X right now, it's probably because Nintendo hasn't really told anybody anything about the game, outside of what can be extrapolated from two teasers. We know next to nothing about the characters, the story, the world, or even the game's official name - but that could be changed with an informative "true reveal" trailer.
Setting my expectations at new DK trailer showing off 4th character. Wouldn't complain, super excited for DK, but I couldn't help but feel disappointed either way.
Whatever they show couldn't be worse than that... right?
A new Metroid by Retro Studios, a trailer for Zelda U with strippers pouring off the stage into the audience.
Instant win.
There is no stage this time.
What? Didn't know about this. What is the format of this show going to be like exactly?
.While its roots lie in the Video Game Awards, VGX will abandon the traditional Hollywood style award show to feature more world premiere game trailers than ever before, plus extended deep dives into the next generation of games, new looks at gaming culture, one-on-one interviews with the industrys most visionary creatives and expert panels digging into whats coming to consoles in 2014 and beyond. The new format features more games, less fame, in an intimate studio setting.
I hope for Nintendo's sake they drop a Zelda U bomb and mention early 2014 with a nice trailer ready to go. They literally need to bring out games one after the other like PS4 will do when it hits early Spring.

where are all these HD remakes coming from

Really hope its X, though it'll more likely something else...
Nintendo Seal of Quality 2014 bankrupt edition![]()
Nothing will "bring it" to a large audience quite like a Bayonetta port.I just hope they realise they need to stop with playing hide & seek. They need to bring it, at least if this is viewed by a large audience. No Smash bros character reveal, no "fucking" Donkey Kong and no Wii Music crap. No keeping games under wraps like they've been doing the past 18 months. I'm still wondering how much damage that did. Why would casual "non-Nintendo" crowd be interested in WiiU when hardly any 3rd parties were announced further off than the coming 3 months.
I hope at least something like Bayo 1 port. Or more X footage or the new Zelda (not that i'm that interested in that, because we all know it's coming eventually, but for exposure). My heart still hopes for a new "all-out" game reveal from a studio like Retro, something with a twist, in a genre Wii U is lacking.
I think it will be Bayo 2, X, and a unannounced title. Maybe a HD upgrade title, like Super Mario Galaxy Super Badass HD Edition with both game compeltely remade in 3D World's Graphics Engine.
It won't be F-Zero because that team at Sega is gone.
Majora's Mask 3DS teaser trailer please please please!

I just hope Reggie doesn't fill up the entire time with just Reggie-isms.
