Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | December 2013 |

Bought MGS HD last night as it was half-price in the sale, awesome bargain. A 3.4gb download just underlined how important it is that I get a 32gb card ASAP. I had to take off a good number of games to make room.

The only other game on my list to pick up right now is Rayman Legends. I see it's 1.1gb on the store. Is the patch out yet for the extra levels? Any idea of the size of that patch? (file sizes have become so important as of late now that I'm constantly juggling titles on my 8gb card)

I know that Dynasty Warriors: Next has gimmicky touch crap for the special moves, but how annoying is it? I really want a mindless hack-n-slash on PS Vita, and Namco Bandai failed me by not bringing over One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 (and even if they did it'd probably have been digital only :| )

So I guess I'll just get that if people think it's worth it. Or are there any upcoming ones that might be localized? Isn't there another Dynasty Warriors (or one of the games like it) on PS3/PS4/Vita coming out in Japan? Think that'll come over? Tecmo Koei has been pretty good with Vita so far.

Vitabros and Vitasistas, I do hope you're looking forward to Broken Sword 5, they're aiming to releasing it by late December at the earliest

Imagine dat colorful goodness on dat OLED.

i can't wait. huge fan of BS 1&2. really hoping it runs well on the vita.

been alternating spelunky and motorstorm rc

vita game bliss

motorstorm rc is so fun. i even bought the dlc and i basically never buy dlc.

I wonder if the patch size will go back up though as they plan to include two new maps in the next update. It'd be a bit crap to see it heading back towards a gig in January.

Possibly but I doubt it. They made the ptach 1 gb as a safegaurd for all the planned future expansions. Now that they have a roadmap chances that It will go up is small.

The DLC is cool, but downloading and managing it all is simply terrible. They should have allowed a big single file download with everything.

Anyone use a grip that they recommend? These 5-6 hour stints of p4g are killing my hands.

I use the UK version of the CTA soft grip (it's the same, just a different brand), the one that looks like the Power grip only with the power.

I love it, can't play without it now, perhaps the 2000 will be better but the OG Vita just feels fidly to me when using the sticks + triggers and trying not to touch the back screen.

I can now play for hours on end in comfort.

I was buying a 32gb from a gaffer, but it didnt work out. If anyone want to sell a 32 gb for about $55 shipped, pm me.

Help me join the master race!

All this talk about people getting 64 GB cards is making me jealous. I ended up purchasing a 32 GB card when the prices were dropped in the US, which I upgraded from 16 GB.

I'm not sure I can rationalize getting the larger card at this time.

I have Muramasa, Tearaway, Uncharted, Wipeout, Gravity Rush and Soul Sacrifice (the last 4 I have due to PS+).

I plan on getting Ys, Persona and Dragon's Crown. And Killzone.

Excellent choices. I'm playing Ys now and I have Dragon Crown (Unfinished), P4G (Unfinished), Tearaway (Sealed), Rayman Legends (Sealed), and Killzone (Sealed). Picked up the last during BF and want to save them till Christmas.

Not sure if we are friends on PSN, but feel free to add me. My PSN name matches my GAF ID. We can Play DC and Killzone sometime.

I can vouch for this one. The Hori grip is nice too and as an added benefit allows charging with it on whereas the CTA doesn't.
Both are excellent and add a lot of comfort

yeah, totally. it's also annoying if you have ps+ games that you have bought but not downloaded yet as you have to scroll through all that crap. grrr.

If you stick with it, it'll be even more fun! Have you seen all the endings? :D The trick in Hotline Miami is generally not giving a fuck

or you could manipulate the dumb ass AIs
This. Man, so much this. I initially wasn't sold on Hotline Miami. I downloaded it for the Vita, played it for about 10 minutes, thought it was okay but overly violent and then put it away for a week. When I got back to it, everything clicked. The mechanics, the challenge, the level layout, the music, the violence... I can't stop playing Hotline Miami! Every day I am doing something with the game, whether it be score chasing, trophies, or just running around causing choas.
You shouldn't have stopped playing it in the first place!
I don't see how anyone can even put this game down! It's magical in so many ways.
I doubt I've seen everything, I played it through to the credits and the main menu came up again.

I'll definitely be playing through his again. There is definitely A LOT of room for improvement on my scores!
I know as soon as I beat the game I immediately turned around and went for the secret ending. And I was pleasantly surprised at just how much better I have become at the game. I want to go for a Platinum trophy, but that "Get A Life" trophy seems unobtainable.
You're... actually right. I will correct that right away!
Please do, sir or madam. Please do.

Really, Hotline Miami is a perfect handheld game. The levels are quick, it's easy to stop in the middle, and it looks gorgeous on the OLED.

I've never been much of a handheld gamer. This year I splurged and got a 3DS XL, but it gathered dust, as I thought it would. My Vita, on the other hand, I take it with me everywhere. Shoot, I was rocking Gravity Rush while waiting in the line at the pharmacy. I wasn't sitting down, I was in the check-out line! This is something very unusual for me.

I picked up the Vita about a week before the PS4 launched. Remote Play seemed too awesome of a feature to do without. I got a phenomenal deal here on the B/S/T thread and haven't looked back since. The Vita truly feels like a console system in my hands, in terms of experience, quality, graphics, and tech. Damn, I love this thing!

Not sure if this is the proper thread for it, but I just started playing that Toro Friend Network game and I need more GAF friends. :(

PSN is skochtaype

Add meeeee.

If you wanted something more serious there is this. Granted I dont own it so cant really give you any more info than this video. But am sure Dr. Google is always happy to help you with the rest of your answers.

Thank you, Virtua Tennis was actually my first Vita game. I love the series for its arcade style gameplay but it also wears out fast because of it. A Top Spin for Vita would be nice.

I just mentioned the artstyle because i like the artstyle in the Golf games.

Most of the GAF channels are on the rizon network, so I put this one on rizon too

My IRC times are long gone. Just remembered that back in the day all the cool kids in "esports" hung around the quakenet.

Imagine dat colorful goodness on dat OLED.

This is my big Vita game for December. Really can't wait. And then I'll buy it again next year when it inevitably comes out on the PS4 (unless it's cross-buy, which would be nice).

Received my new Vita last night from the eBay black friday deal. Booted up Gravity Rush, Rayman Origins, and Soul Sacrifice last night but only had about 15 minutes with each.

I was very impressed with the screen and really look forward to digging into the games. Gravity Rush really piqued my interest, I got Ico vibes from it although it seems very different. Can't wait to play more!

I love how Tearaway does that thing where it makes you think it's almost over, then promptly kicks things into overdrive. I'm apparently 44% of the way through, and I thought I was almost done! How far am I exactly, Vitagaf? I just
left Sogport via the drill and am now "between the pages."

Do you use an EU or US account on your Vita?

Missile! Ghost Trick needs to be on Vita.

On topic - Ys Seven is longer than I thought it would be. Going on 17 hours now and an end isn't really in sight. Still loving it but should've probably started on Hard.

About two thirds through.

My main complaint about the vita is how the slightest touch of a finger on the screen leaves a nasty grease fingerprint behind that is completely noticeable when the OLED shines through it.

On games that require you to touch the screen, it becomes a complete mess after doing three touches in different parts of the screen.

I by no means have overly greasy fingers. Touching my iphone for hours leaves no residue. But the Vita screen is awful in this respect.

Is there some kind of treatment or solution to this?

Hmm did u apply a protective 'sticker' on your screen? That's what I've been using since i got it.

FlyinJ, listen to Tizoc over here. I was in the same boat as you, getting disgusted by greasy the Vita made me seem. Outside of using screen cleaner, I could never get the thing to look crystal clear.

Until I bought a pack of these. Not only do I feel safer knowing I can't nick my screen to hell and back, but it also solves the grease magnet "feature" of the Vita. And for $1.99, how could you possibly go wrong?!

I finished vanilla P4 with 45 hours clocked... The Vita port must have a lot of new content to fill 20 extra hours. :o

My Persona 4 completion time is 137 hours. I think that's the longest game time I've ever clocked. I did a lot of exploration, grinding, and Persona fusing. I still haven't completed all of the sidequests!

I use this Hori screen protector. I put it on more than a year ago and it i still like new. Highly recommended.

ToP recommendations: Get tearaway right now. And also Ys Celceta or any of the other Ys games now that they are on sale.

the only thing that kills BS5 for me is the animation, the screen look nice and decent as stills, but once it moves its like.. blah, wish they hired me to animate that garbage - granted im sure they were under massive time constraints, which is always difficult to do sicne animation takes a hell of amount of time.
