I'll repost myself just in case ne1 is interested.

Edit: Oops top of the page.

Let's hope God Eater 2 gets localized because online without ad-hoc party will be added.
And moreover, buy Toukien next year!

I can just see all the complaints and whining now when the game comes out. I have the PSP one and Im pretty sure most folks are not going to understand how the hell to play lol. Let alone like how the game is designed for that matter.

Though story wise Id say its interesting just based off of the fact that its a continuation of the anime cept branches off into a different direction. Dont read unless you are familiar with the series / halfway point "ending" obviously.
story continues off after heathcliff (kayaba akihiko) is defeated by kirito. Cept that instead of being let out of the game they find themselves still trapped and a new floor opens up to them where the battle for survival continues.

Combat system basically is auto attack for normal attacks and from there just like an mmo its managing your skill cooldowns and properly making use of buffs and debuffs. If anyone is unfamiliar with general mmo workings and such, may be a bit of a hurdle. Since it really does make a huge difference with fights I say personally.

Also the way they did general conversations in the game is a bit odd with NPCs as its not actual dialog for generic conversations, just a bunch of random text that makes it seem like they are having a conversation. So besides story / event bits there isnt much dialog from walking around randomly talking to people.

The game most def was a budget title is what I feel. Granted they really tried some different things with the battle system, its quite hit and miss. So its more a game you kinda drudge on through just to get to the story bits. Another thing I hope they fix is the odd "lag" so to speak am not sure if its due to having the DL version first and was a problem with that, but at times the game would stutter messing things up with timing and what not. I have the disc version too but never opened it since just bought it to collect, as I thought the title was made uniquely enough to earn my money twice. But I really can see the average person once again being turned off by how the game plays / is designed.

*Edit

hmm you know I need to really look up if this is just a remake with extra content or if they plan on actually redoing the whole system. Since from some of the screenshots that they show off now makes it look like its using a lot of the same content from the PSP version just cleaned up. Though the early trailer made it look a little different, granted its missing all the HUD elements and what not. PSP one was called "Infinity Moment"

Looks like its a story that takes place in the same setting so I would have to guess that this is a "remake" of Infinity Moment that adds the new content gameplay / storywise for Hollow Fragment. Which is a good thing, since the original was a bit strange as explained above. Do hope that they really work on making the battlesystem better.

Anyways Ill still be picking it up to see how much the game has evolved. If they do a good job with it I can see it selling better. But they do need to put a little more effort into the areas in the game itself. Plus the town felt mostly dead due to little to no interaction with shops and how the conversations with NPCs went.

Truthfully they would have done a far better job of having it designed like Phantasy Star Universe where the SP portion is the story and the MP is the online mode. Would have worked perfectly if they had a team able to pull it off which Bandai Namco does have if they are willing to spare the resources.

Just checked out Uncharted for 15 minutes. First impression isn't great. It feels like an Uncharted knock off and I hate all the tutorial pop-ups. I also don't like aiming with the sticks on the Vita.

Keep going, I feel (hope) it will improve for you. It definitely doesn't feel like a knock off for me as I can comfortably rank it with the others in the series.

Also begin utilizing the gyro aiming immediately, it helps once you get used to it.

I had the same impression at first. Something about the game kept me going and I beat it.

I got used to the wonky aiming (it was still bad throughout the game). It does feel like "Uncharted Lite".

Just want to tell everyone that kill one mercenary is superb. The aiming is great, much better than unit13 and uncharted's. I didn't think I would play it that much but story mode on hard has been pretty fun. Everything you do feels rewarding because you're constantly getting money for what you do.

I'm glad to finally give the vita my portable gaming time again. Hotline Miami and mercenary made me pick it back up after I binged on animal crossing and Pokemon this year.

Golden Abyss>>>>>>>Uncharted 3.

Don't be that guy. GA is overrated. Stupid final boss, drake looks like his teeth are rotting, his nose is 35x bigger for some reason, the aiming is super wonky because they forced people to swing their vitas around for headshots instead of fine tuning them, touch controls get in the way, game is the most linear uncharted to date and the story was on par with 3's... not better.

OMG (Spelunky related). Somehow I got the key until the end of the ice levels and got the shortcut for the temple. Tried the temple a couple of times through the shortcut and made it to the last boss like 4-5 times. I think I'm ready to do it properly and beat the crap out of him soon.

Had the same impressions early on but the game definitely gets better. Keep going and see how it goes after a couple of chapters (they're short). By the time the game was completed, I loved it and went straight to do other difficulty levels. There's still crushing left though, will do that someday.

I want to go into the VGA thread and see what leaked but at the same time I want to be surprised when I watch the VGAs :(

wat do

Well done! So jealous...I want that shortcut. Got distracted with Flow and stick it to the man...which I'm going to play for a little longer but straight after...need that temple tunnel. Hopefully will get a jetpack and get lucky because the last 50 or so attempts haven't gone so well. Got to like Ice 3 with a key and cape and got cocky :( Soon.

And yep, definitely stick with Uncharted as others are saying as well.

Yeah

Sonyentertainmentnetwork

Just plug into your browser and it takes you to the store. You can buy stuff from it, and works great when "purchasing" the free ps+ stuff sony gives out.

Edit: well damn.

And yet Uncharted 3 bored me to tears so much that I couldn't even finish it, but I enjoyed GA so much I beat it multiple times. I'll be whatever guy I feel like being, thanks. It just so happens that the guy I'm being right now is the one with the opinion that Golden Abyss was a great game but UC3 sucked major balls. UC2 is still king though.

With a little bit of a tweak, I agree with you completely... let's see if I can help you out:

That's more like it!

I just. I can't.

The reason I said don't be that guy was to poke fun at your name, no need to get your panties in a wad. I feel the exact opposite about GA. I was ready for it to be over by the middle of the game but felt that U3 was the perfect length. The only uncharted game I've gone back and played is 2 because I didn't have any qualms with it. If GA would have had some multiplayer I might have liked it a bit more, but when I bought it I thought it was a complete waste of money.

Alright, I'm making my second round of purchases.

So far I'm for sure gonna get RR4 and Ghosts and goblins, what else should i pick up?

I got Rayman Legends, and it's bloody gorgeous. Really, amazingly so.

Only question I have is about the Murphy levels where you rotate the Vita to rotate the wheels on screen. Not sure I'm fully comfortable with that as I'd be afraid of dropping the thing on the floor. Christ, that's all I'd need at this stage.

Nah, the correct ranking is 2>GA>3>1
I love all of them though

You have it ENTIRELY backwards, my friend.
1 > 3 > GA > 2. :P

I've platinumed every one of them.
I'd go back and play 1 or 3 again, most likely, should the whim occur. However, I wouldn't go back to Golden Abyss (too many misses in terms of the boss fights/puzzles that required vita gimmicks) and I wouldn't go back to Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2 felt like it moved entirely away from the exploration/puzzle solving and became a showcase for all the things they had to add to get multiplayer to work (and I understand WHY it's like this, but that doesn't mean I have to like it). Everything felt phoned in to me in terms of the single player and it had too many "shootbang" segments (to borrow from another thread). I think the reason people don't like 3 is because it moved away from the combat focus trying to blend the bigger setpieces and grand scale of Uncharted 2 with some of the pacing of Uncharted. For me it worked. I think the reason I don't put Uncharted 3 above Uncharted is because of nostalgia and because of the initial climb out of the ship graveyard combat area that brought back memories of Uncharted 2's train.
Anyway, for the same reasons that I like Uncharted and Uncharted 3 -- that's why I put Golden Abyss above Uncharted 2 -- less combat focus, more exploration.

And to be honest, I'm playing Tomb Raider now (finally) and it has a good chance of blowing all of the Uncharted games out of the water, if it follows what it's been doing in the couple of hours I've played.

I don't play these games for the TPS combat segments, I play them because I like the whole "Indiana Jones" motif. And Uncharted 2 is definitely the worst of the series when it comes to that, IMO.

I stopped playing Golden Abyss because it was too meh. Maybe I'll try it again one of these days but for now the order is 2>3>1>GA

Would definitely like to see a proper MMO simulation game for once with a decent budget. Was always interested in the .hack franchise but the games were pretty sub par dungeon crawlers. SAO's character designs also seem really generic to me lol, though I haven't watched it so it's just an observer's opinion. I think the closest thing I've gotten gameplay-wise is FF12. Really just want a wide open game with a sense of adventure.

Would I have to watch the show to enjoy the story in the PSP/Vita games?

This is the order for me as well

Thought GA was great at launch because I was wowed by the tech, but became pretty disillusioned the second time I played it on plus. Doesn't have as fun/interesting of a story as the console games and way too much time is spent in the same scenery (the jungle).

It would be suggested or else you will have zero clue to anyone in the game and the situation that they are all in.

Though feel free to stop after the "first season" the second season was a lot weaker and the setting / main badguy was just bad.

You have it ENTIRELY backwards, my friend.
1 > 3 > GA > 2. :P

Wow, there is people that don't actually like Uncharted 2?

For me it was 2 > 1 = GA > suffering a painful death > Uncharted 3. I enjoyed Golden Abyss quite a bit, I loved gyro aiming and the pacing and level design. Story wasn't that good, but overall it was more consistent IMO than U3. Mediocre, but consistent xD. There were quite some moments in Drakes Deception where it just felt that the story was a excuse to push Nate forward some of those scenarios. The game would have been a lot better if the ship levels didn't exist.

Uncharted 2 was awesome until I discovered those yetis where
people that lick the resign of a damn tree.

I just got a Vita a week ago to go with my PS4, loving it so far. It came with Tearaway and that's alright so far, charming enough although it really exposed how terribly uncreative I am. I see what other people have done to their little dude and I don't even want to compete. Also completed Gravity Rush. That game's alright, very flawed in many ways but there's enough there to build on in the sequel. Might do a LTTP for it.

Dunno what to get next. UK folk, what's the best place for buying games? Everywhere seems pretty expensive. I really want Persona 4 Golden but there's not much wiggle room on the prices from looking around. Fuck, I wouldn't mind Personas 2 and 3 on the PSN Store but they're even crazier. If there aren't any obviously amazing options I'll just go to Amazon.

Look at 365game.co.uk, I think you can find there P4G for 22 pounds. NTSC version. I bought it there and I didn't have any problems.

Ok, so I just purchased 3 titles on my pc and then when I pressed "download to vita" nothing happened.

Ah, just figured out where to find the download list on the vita!

The UI sure is trashy but at least its responsive as hell.

but for now the order is 2>3>1>GA
Same order for me.

In my opinion, Uncharted has too much shooting. Some people like that, but I don't.
I wish Uncharted was more an adventure game than shooting game.

Golden Abyss has the most shooting scenes in the Uncharted series. That's the reason why is my least favorite Uncharted game.
Is still a good game though.

I'm not even sure how to react to that.

Tomb Raider gets boring really fast. It also lacks any charm. Looks great though. I would rank it below all uncharteds, and it's one of my biggest disappointments this year

Just finished with Motorstorm RC. Got all medals, <10min for every festival and unlocked all trophies except for the online ones and RC Champion. Overall, I enjoyed my time playing and replaying the races, but I had enough, so will stop right here. ^^

Did 2 races in Sonic Racer and was good enough. But I need a short break from racing games, so I will give it another try later next week. Maybe for next title, I will go for Guacamelee, as I'm dying for a good hack&slash platformer.

On an bit off topic question for the guys who have imported things before. In the beginning of November I ordered few cheap accessories for the Vita from China, and they are supposed to be delivered by China Air Mail (ChinaPost), I even have a tracking number (RB660362670CN), that I'm checking regular in Track17. But since week and a half, every few days I'm getting one and same status:

What does that mean?! Do I have to worry about the package being stuck in customs, or it's delayed for some other reason? What worries me is that, this last status is just being repeated for a week now...

Sorry for the offtopic question again, but I can't find info about these tracking...

PSABR is actually pretty fun. I can see why some people complain about it but I'm finding it really enjoyable. Scratches the smash bros itch.

Trashy? Im going to ask you to turn in your Vita and badge. Your're off the force son.

Hey at least its responsive!
So I just picked up
R4
Ghosts n goblins
metal slug anthology

in addition to my previous purchases

spelunky
p4 golden
soundshapes
tearaway demo

I'd really like a good shmup of some sort, and how is the multiplayer population in killzone mercenary? I have no interest in the campaign, but it seems like the MP could be fun.
Also, if I go to ATT to get a SIM card will theygive it to me for free?

Oh yeah you might want to check out Sine Mora if you like side scroller shooters.

The only real issue about the UI is more the functionality with how save data + the game download data is the same thing. So deleting the downloaded data wipes the saves with it too unfortunately. No idea why they thought that was a good idea, but my only guess would be they assumed it would help counter people messing with save data and such.

I really think part of the issue with that too is the trophies. So in some ways everyone can thank trophies for that indirectly.

Once you get accustomed to the UI you will see its a lot better than the shit with the PS3. Esp functionality. PS3s was the worst ever seriously for the most part. Even more so when it comes to downloading / installing stuff from PSN.

Whatever, it gets the job done. Compared to ios though.. idk.
I'm kinda having some ergonomic problems, but it feels really fun to be back in the playstation ecosystem. And again I am very impressed by how responsive the operating system is.

Its more like older Android, which really does feel different from iOS.

Hey its more responsive than old. So far the tactility and responsiveness are perfect, you couldnt ask for more... its just kinda ugly. IDK.

So what settings do ya'll use for PSONE games on the vita?

I just use whatever is default. Then again am playing it mostly on my PSV TV lol. On the PSV I try to stay away from games that use L2 / R2 if possible since trying to use the touch as replacement buttons = nope.

Yeah, was just playin some R4, I had it set to original AR but just stretch it. its not very noticeable the game is so blocky as it is.

Ultimate ghosts n goblins is kickin my ass so far. 3D graphics are kinda weird looking, but the gameplay seems punishing and awesome.

Really excited about the Metal Slug Anthology, I'm expecting that game to look incredible. Goddamn, its like every game in the series except the DS one.

Anyone know if you can turn of the Blue light on the Vita? It's really annoying having it constantly flicker on and off when I'm trying to use the browser at night.

What's the best way to avoid burn in? Been using the browser a lot recently and I've been getting worried that the bar on the right will burn in after a while since I have been using it a lot recently.

ghosts n goblins looks pretty rad... are there save states? or something to help, the game is probably brutally difficult.
