ghosts n goblins looks pretty rad... are there save states? or something to help, the game is probably brutally difficult.

Not that I've noticed, but there are three difficulty levels. So far the medium/default setting seems to be about on par with volgarr the viking.

Same order for me.

In my opinion, Uncharted has too much shooting. Some people like that, but I don't.
I wish Uncharted was more an adventure game than shooting game.

Golden Abyss has the most shooting scenes in the Uncharted series. That's the reason why is my least favorite Uncharted game.
Is still a good game though.

Yes, Uncharted has too much shooting for me too, and I didn't really like how it feels shooting in that game. I don't know how to say it...

For me, however, Golden Abyss was a great improvement in gameplay aspects. There are a some of those wave based galleries, but I liked how you were able to go through at least half of them using stealth. That made the game a lot less annoying in higher difficulties.

Tomorrow I'll bite in that Rayman Legends deal. Next week I'll get Dragon's Crown. And I don't know what to do next. I want Killzone: Mercenaries, but I want The Last of US and KH 1.5 too, both probably more than KZ. I'm getting addicted to the Vita? xD
Tomb Raider gets boring really fast. It also lacks any charm. Looks great though. I would rank it below all uncharteds, and it's one of my biggest disappointments this year

It's surprising how the Tomb Raider's writter made a boring and uninspired story and she was saying in some interview that a writter job in gaming media was often fixing a half assed job... when her script is a half assed job. Amy Hemming >>>>>>>> Her.

I'll put it above Uncharted 3 because at least the shooting feels good in TR, even if I like story and characters in Uncharted miles more. However, both are QTE fests (which I don't like). I thought TR was a good time waster but nothing I'll remember in 5 years.

For me, Tomb Raider is a game with some cool ideas held back by a poor execution, a lackluster script and every single feature that bores me when I try most AAA stuff.

Personally, I've never got on with the Uncharted series in PS3... I've tried UC1 and 2 and I got little more than an hour or so into each. They felt a little too directed for me.

Ironically, I really enjoyed UC GA on vita. I don't know if that because this was back when there wasn't as much to play but I finished the game and liked it.

I'd like to see a follow up but is like to see less of the swipey, titlty and rubby and a bit more of the sneaky, stealthy bang bang.

Yeah, was just playin some R4, I had it set to original AR but just stretch it. its not very noticeable the game is so blocky as it is.

Ultimate ghosts n goblins is kickin my ass so far. 3D graphics are kinda weird looking, but the gameplay seems punishing and awesome.

Really excited about the Metal Slug Anthology, I'm expecting that game to look incredible. Goddamn, its like every game in the series except the DS one.

You want a punishing side scroller action game. Go play the 2 prinny games from the PSP on the Vita. lol that shit is hardcore.

I loved this game so much. Now on to DOUBLE PLATINUM Dragons Crown.

I've never been into trophies at all but the vita is making me take notice... Something about the platform just lends to it.

I'm slowly starting to get into the metagame.

So did you saw those news on siliconera indicating Dokuro is going to mobiles only for 1U$ ?what do you think about it? i was about to buy the game on Vita but this news are sad for us VitaBros who wanted to play this game on Vita , i mean isnt this game around 13U$ on NA PSN? Im waiting for a price drop on Dokuro now. Is it worth it?

BTW Flower on Vita is just an excellent Port and looks stunning, i saw the game before on Ps3 but never play it. Just finish the game recently and all i can say is that this game is Art is every sense of the word. Do you think Sony will bring us Vitaowners the great Journey too?. In this amazing Oled screen it will look amazing. I twitted the guys on thatgamecompany a few days ago after playing Flower Vita , and they say the answer is not on them but on Sony`s responsability.

I think there's a decent shot that Journey comes to the Vita, I've heard it's coming to PS4.

Apparently I'm the only person on GAF who doesn't see a big difference between Uncharted 2 & 3. I finished them back to back this summer and felt like I basically played the same game twice in a row. If anything, aside from the ending, I thought 3 was a bit more impressive.

It was free for PS+ sometime earlier this year. I paid $19.99 for it when it released... then imported a physical copy of it from Japan, for $35, because it has English language options. It's cool, so I'm glad I have a copy.

I like it. It's charming, fun and lengthy puzzle platformer, if a little underproduced and repetitive. It could have used some nice parallax in the background and more variety in the geometry, but I think the character sprites are nice and often go overlooked. I like the theme and mood... kind of reminds me of Ghouls N Ghosts a little bit in that way.

Pretty sure most people who played it, got it free, and didn't like it. It's no Limbo or Braid or anything, but it's well above flash games like Knytt Underground or Kung Fu Rabbit.

As far as the console/handhelds vs iOS/Android price differences... we always get fucked, coming and going. We're supporting the market for people who don't even really like games, and value them at less than a bottle of soda. At least with Dokuro, touchscreen platformer controls will suck, and plugging in a controller on a phone is always kind of janky.

You have it ENTIRELY backwards, my friend.
1 > 3 > GA > 2. :P

I've platinumed every one of them.
I'd go back and play 1 or 3 again, most likely, should the whim occur. However, I wouldn't go back to Golden Abyss (too many misses in terms of the boss fights/puzzles that required vita gimmicks) and I wouldn't go back to Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2 felt like it moved entirely away from the exploration/puzzle solving and became a showcase for all the things they had to add to get multiplayer to work (and I understand WHY it's like this, but that doesn't mean I have to like it). Everything felt phoned in to me in terms of the single player and it had too many "shootbang" segments (to borrow from another thread). I think the reason people don't like 3 is because it moved away from the combat focus trying to blend the bigger setpieces and grand scale of Uncharted 2 with some of the pacing of Uncharted. For me it worked. I think the reason I don't put Uncharted 3 above Uncharted is because of nostalgia and because of the initial climb out of the ship graveyard combat area that brought back memories of Uncharted 2's train.
Anyway, for the same reasons that I like Uncharted and Uncharted 3 -- that's why I put Golden Abyss above Uncharted 2 -- less combat focus, more exploration.

And to be honest, I'm playing Tomb Raider now (finally) and it has a good chance of blowing all of the Uncharted games out of the water, if it follows what it's been doing in the couple of hours I've played.

I don't play these games for the TPS combat segments, I play them because I like the whole "Indiana Jones" motif. And Uncharted 2 is definitely the worst of the series when it comes to that, IMO.

Yeah the endless waves of enemies really deters from the experience at times. I hope they take some risks in U4 and kill off a main character or do something fresh.
sully in U3 was such a cop out

Btw did you ever platinum soul sacrifice?

I just got a 32gb Card, and I currently have a 16gb. Is there any way to transfer everything from the 16 to the 32 without having to redownload everything?

Dokuro was fun. I liked it.
As far as Android/iOS? They don't have analog sticks, buttons, or trophies. I'd pay the extra $9 for those (and I did).

Pretty sure most people who played it, got it free, and didn't like it. It's no Limbo or Braid or anything, but it's well above flash games like Knytt Underground or Kung Fu Rabbit.

Braid -- another game that gets a ton of hype/love that I don't understand.
I found Dokuro enjoyable -- something I could not say for Braid.

ghosts n goblins looks pretty rad... are there save states? or something to help, the game is probably brutally difficult.

Save states... bwahahaha

Anyone know if you can turn of the Blue light on the Vita? It's really annoying having it constantly flicker on and off when I'm trying to use the browser at night.

Electrical tape.

I'm not even sure how to react to that.

Sounds like we're going to be the reverse again. :P
Did your 64gb card ship yet?

It's easier to back up your saves to PS+ and then just redownload unless you have a dialup connection.
Only things worth backing up are games with tons of DLC like SFxT, Katamari, WipEout, Soul Sacrifice, etc.

Manually backing up and restoring saves one by one is a pain in the ass. And it's quicker to backup and restore via USB than to download and install everything again.

You can do a bulk copy of your saves via content manager.

And it's really not. I think it took 3 hours to back up 5 games the last time I used it. It took me less than an hour to re-download them and my internet is not good.

Plus, even if you somehow took the same amount of time in terms of USB/WiFi backup transfer rate versus re-downloading, USB is still 1/2 speed because you have to backup and then take the same amount of time to restore.

But hey, if you want to back up your whole card and it's faster for you that way, good luck. :)

What's the best way to avoid burn in? Been using the browser a lot recently and I've been getting worried that the bar on the right will burn in after a while since I have been using it a lot recently.
I wish I knew why the blue light flashes when its sleeping, if there's no notifications to see...

The joke is on anyone who buys it for that 1$ as it will be wasted money without proper controls.
It might be more expensive on Vita but at least it's playable ;)

Isn't it scanning near for updates ?

64 GB is being sent from Japan now, I should get it by Thursday @3@

Itshappening.gif! Still considering making the purchase myself.

I gave in during my impulse buy of the PS4. Got it for remote play initially but it's taken on a life of its own and I play it more than the PS4 now (and remote play almost all of my PS4 gaming).

I might just get that sexy, red Soul Sacrifice limited edition Vita that I've been eyeing. Because damn, that's one sexy devil of a device.

How does remote play works? Is it just for the games, or is it capable of showing PS4 UI on the Vita without needing a TV altogether like Wii U? If its the latter, then it'll a major killer app for. If its the former though, at least I don't have to sit on my crappy plastic chair later when I'm buy a PS4.

You can do everything once it's set up. Besides from the initial setup you don't need a tv at all. I'm not sure if you can remote play every app, like Netflix and such, but you can go into the store, start and close games, turn off the machine and so on.
Best of all, it doesn't even close your open Vita application/game while you use it.

Update: just tested Netflix. Doesn't work via remote play so I assume none of the media stream apps work via remote play.

In P4G, I need some brooches for a quest in the secret lab. I can't seem to find it. I grinded mothers until all my characters reached 99. I'm getting really tired of this shit.

Once Ys stops with the handholding and explanations for everything, the game gets real good. Love the layout of the forest, open yet has soft gate (ie high level enemies) to push you into the right direction. Adding a witch time esque mechanic is ace too.

Gonna try some remote play AC4 tomorrow while watching football

Time to buy a bigger bag
Playing the game remotely without even needs a TV is enough for me.

Do it! I imported a red vita and I was worried that it may be distracting but it so isn't... When you're gaming you focus on the action and when you're not, your vita looks awesome!

Seems like there's a Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z demo coming pre-release (December 17th in Japan)

Now finally we'll actually be able to get a look at how the Vita version holds up. The lack of Vita media for the game is disappointing but it doesn't suprise me one bit.

Just bought Dragons Crown (retail version) so it will now obviously be on the 12 sales of Christmas offer.

Can You change the language of the narrator?

Is there a good rpg on vita yet (other than the new Ys which isn't out yet in EU)

Already played persona on ps2 and already have soul sacrifice btw.
A good turn based rpg would be great

You mean the flower brooch?
Thought you got that in Marukyu Striptease, from the soul dancers

I had never played an Ys game before last week.. didn't think I'd be into them 'cos I usually prefer my JRPGs turn based. Grabbed Ys Seven and fell in love and now I'm obsessed with Ys and have put Seven on hold to play Memories of Celceta... It rules! Beautiful and fun.. except I get heaps of framerate stuttering issues in certain locales. Oath in Felghana is also now lovingly nestled next to those two on my Vita, waiting patiently for its turn... <3

You're EU PSN? Grab Breath of Fire 3, and I think Riviera is on there too along with Half minute hero and Trails in the sky.

I don't think it matters if it doesn't sell too much because the thing probably costs only a couple of bucks to make.

Sony should have marketed it as a Netflix set-top box that can play vita games and stream ps4. Not as a non-portable vita.
No point advertising the PS4 functionality yet, since the PS4 isn't even out there yet. I'd like to think Sony would push that aspect once PS4 comes out. Who doesn't want to play PS4 in another room without moving the PS4 for just $100/$150 instead of another $400 (insert yen prices there).

Sony should release it worldwide and advertise it as you say. Who in their right mind, with a PS4, would choose to ever buy an Apple TV, or whatever else, when they could get the PS Vita TV.

I think they should rename it if they bring it worldwide though. Still don't know why they didn't just call it "PlayStation TV". Fits better. Plays PSone games, PSP games, PS Vita games (some) and streams PS4... plus it does the 'TV' stuff, like Netflix and such.

Bad branding is Nintendo level.

Don't be that guy. GA is overrated. Stupid final boss, drake looks like his teeth are rotting, his nose is 35x bigger for some reason, the aiming is super wonky because they forced people to swing their vitas around for headshots instead of fine tuning them, touch controls get in the way, game is the most linear uncharted to date and the story was on par with 3's... not better.
Yeah, it's not like Uncharted 3 had aiming problems... that's a common issue in Uncharted.

At least with Vita we had gyro to help make it less crappy. I didn't have an issue with the analog sticks, never have. Vita sticks are awesome. Do people really want a huge deadzone like PS3 on Vita too? I mean, wtf do you want?

Took me about 10 minutes the day the system releases to get used to it. Are people that incapable of adapting to new things?

At least I can agree with Nathan's nose and teeth, scary shit, but overall loved Golden Abyss.

You have it ENTIRELY backwards, my friend.

But to GA's credit, you can skip the puzzles in other playthroughs. Godsend <3 After three playthroughs of every single Uncharted, the puzzles really irk you. (I always play; normal > hard > crushing, always die the least on crushing that way, since I know what's coming)

The only real issue I had with Golden Abyss was it wasn't very "Uncharted" in terms of design. The puzzles were floating paper, or floating swords, and other crap. While in 1, 2, 3, you see Drake holding the items and then moving them. You see him hold maps, open his notebook, etc.

You get none of that in GA. It really takes away from the immersion, which for me is what Uncharted is always about.

The melee and swipe indicators are a good example too. God does a HUGE ASS yellow arrow take you out of it and scream, "YOU'RE PLAYING A GAME". Golden Abyss would be the worst Uncharted to watch someone play, by far.

And those fucking 'bleeps' when you click on the confirm button. Ugggggggggggg

I did enjoy that the collectibles had a purpose in GA, they told some backstory when you found all the ones in a set which made getting them more interesting. (I hated the random drops from enemies though, those trophies were tedious)

I got Rayman Legends, and it's bloody gorgeous. Really, amazingly so.

Only question I have is about the Murphy levels where you rotate the Vita to rotate the wheels on screen. Not sure I'm fully comfortable with that as I'd be afraid of dropping the thing on the floor. Christ, that's all I'd need at this stage.

I hate those rotating side games, it isn't super responsive. I haven't worried about dropping it though. ;)

Can't stop playing Rayman Legends. So good.

It really is. I wish I had more gaming time to put towards it. I bought it last weekend and have put all of my gaming time the last 7 or 8 days into it, but that has only been about 5 hours. I could easily have put in 20 by now, I am enjoying it that much.

Well done! So jealous...I want that shortcut. Got distracted with Flow and stick it to the man...which I'm going to play for a little longer but straight after...need that temple tunnel. Hopefully will get a jetpack and get lucky because the last 50 or so attempts haven't gone so well. Got to like Ice 3 with a key and cape and got cocky :( Soon.

Thank you! And today, *here it comes* I'm happy to say the game is officially complete :D It was a godsend having a jetpack along with enough bombs and the compass. That said, I'm not done with the game yet. Time to explore some secret areas and fill out all the entries if they're not too tedious *already seen the blackmarket* I'm not sure if I'm going to go out of my way to get all the trophies, the 500000 gill sounds crazy. And the one where you have to complete the game in 8 minutes as well, but maybe it's not so bad if you just focus on getting to the exit? Let's not mention the hell one. They might be more natural to get the more you play of the game. Oh and I didn't really try getting the secret characters but apparently I have 3 left to get.

That's what you get for distracting yourself and focusing on other games ;) Spelunky was taking all my time for the past few days. I was completely wrong to think it would be a game to finish quickly and smoothly.
It's a nice game, I definitely don't regret getting it but it's a bit of a love and hate relationship, more loving though. Now I can relax and continue with other games as well.

Edit:

Get:

Spelunky?
Rayman Legends
Tearaway
Killzone Mercenary

Just ordered Dragons Crown, not sure why lol. Not normally into beatem ups but seems like its an awesome game so what the hell. What do you guys think the chances are of Wipeout 2048 going on the Christmas sale? The game is like impossible to find in Australia at the moment, so I'll have to get it digitally.
