Meh, looks like it's business as usual with the character designs/world. I really hope the supporting cast is amazing unlike the past couple of games

I really enjoyed the anime look of previous titles. I hope the characters personality translate well with these models and we don't get the "doll-like" acting from Star Ocean TLH.

I know it's too soon but....how is Vesperia still the best looking game?! Kudos and RIP to team symphonia.

I like the battle system and it looks like the battle will take place in the world map also, like without pause. and the world looks big cant wait for the localization.

Drill hair is a bit much though...

You take that back! Drill curls are fantastic!

More seriously, this looks pretty cool. I've never actually played a tales game before I picked up Graces f and started playing a month or two ago and I'm loving every minute of it. I've got Xillia on my shelf for once I finish Graces, and if I have even half as much fun with it as I am having with Graces, Xillia 2 and this game will definitely be on my "Must Buy" list.

that's the top of the book in the teaser site.
edit: I see it's in the trailer too. nvm

Man-colette looks awful, the girl looks pretty bad on paper too but looks good ingame

I hope the open world doesnt mean even more empty and boring locations

Another major JP developed game for the PS3.

Might as well delay the ps4 there, besides deep down there is nothing coming out for that market there.
Majority of devs did not have PS4 development kits when this game started development. Plus I believe Baba said himself that the next Tales after ToZ would be on PS4. I would not be surprised if they released ToZ on PS4 a year later w/ extras, but I wouldn't guarantee it (especially if FFXV comes out bringing the fans on PS4).

me too, and 20th anniversary will be in 2015, so PS4 version seems legit.

Background/world:

Takes place on the continent of Greenwood, where the Highland Kingdom and the Lawrence Empire are vying for control.

There are different religious faiths on the continent, which has caused many different cultures to be created, and allowed civilization to develop and expand in different ways. But there is one thing they all have in common, and that's the mysterious beings called the "Sky People". They can't be seen or touched, but through their powers they are said to affect everything in the world. The people show respect, fear, aversion, and admiration towards the Sky People.

Eh, nothing too fancy or unique. Probably doesn't help the Zelda comments though.

Slay has feathers as earrings. He could be a Sky Dude.

Looks good so far.

I'm hoping they keep the over-the-shoulder, free-style camera introduced in Xillia that allowed us to freely look around the environments.

These games love to have opposing kingdoms and I see this one is no different, heh.

Really looking forward to Jump Festa 2014 for some new info / footage!

Exchange some terms and names and you'll get every other Tales of o:

Is that Asbels brother?! Looks so much alike. And looks like a dragon is in it. 2 main characters again? The fields look bigger than Xillia! Is it going to be open world? Still will be getting this day 1. I love Tales of.

The story will revolve around the subject of “dragons,” which is also the reason why it’s shown in the logo of the new title. According to Baba, dragons symbolize fantasy, which is something they’d like to focus on for the upcoming title. The game will also focus a lot on the explorative aspect of the game, with various terrains and landscapes to explore in the lands of Green Wood.

My thoughts on what I saw and what I believe will be in this series.

- There will be no battle transitions anymore. As soon as you approach an enemy it will form a battle arena around it.
- Terrain might affect combat a lot.
- Seems like they're going with even more realistic models for this game meaning size and proportions for things will be vastly important for this game and may seep into other aspects of the game such as scope for the world/open-world and other things.
- Open world might be crap if they do not have battle transitions and don't account for terrain.
- Game is going to most likely use Blast Calibur style of moves.
- Seems like CC will be returning.
- New enemy designs.
- ufotable returning to do this probably means that they'll be a series staple, though this could only be because this the 20th anniversary. w/e.
- MC male looks like crap.
- MC female looks less like crap in game and looks good in art.
- Graphics look meh.
- Heavy focus on nomad style of living from the looks of it. Reminds me much of Sacae from Fire Emblem in terms of setting.
- There will hopefully be flying throughout the open world using dragons? =D
- Hopefully this also means that what I predicted a few years ago about the game going much more in the 3D plane is true.
- That's it lol.

Basically everything I expected.

It does, ToV is probably the best looking Tales game.

I was so disappointed by ToX that I'm contemplating not buying ToX2 at all.
Let's hope ToZ is a better game.

For what it's worth, Xillia 2 improves upon a lot of Xillia's flaws. As far as the battle system is concerned, anyway.

Considering how easily new Tales game are getting released here now I will get excited for this announcement .
