No. The reason that chart I gave you ends at 2011 is because since then Sony has been purposely obscuring Vita's sales by bundling them with PSP's in a generic "portable business" segment. That goes for hardware and software.

Jack Tretton said Vita owners purchase more than 10 games, but that's a useless stat if they're all $5-$15 PSN games, or PS+ freebies.

I'd be swimming in Japanese games thanks to MH, and DQ though.

Man if they're counting PS+ games I'd be reeeeeaaaally sad. I don't expect Vita to ever break past 100million units.

I wonder what Nintendo would be capable of if they were like Sony and put out quality hardware (in terms of horsepower). While I do like my 3ds games, the 3ds itself sucks (to me). The hardware feels very very cheap on my XL.

Bullshit.

I own all of... 5 3DS games now that Zelda has come and gone. If you include games I've sold off after finishing, I've owned 9 total. Add in the 3 I bought digitally and you're at 12. If you include the "free" games gotten through Club Nintendo, that's another 4. So 16 total games. 16 games and 0 on the horizon that I'm actively planning on purchasing.

I own over 70 Vita games. Discount the 6 or so in my list that PS+ gave me. 64 games.
I have bought over 20 PSP games because I own a Vita. That figure includes 0 of the PS+ given games.

So 84+ games purchased for my Vita. When compared to the 3DS, even with the freebies added in, I've bought approximately 5x as much software for my Vita as I have for my 3DS.

Not so much in the games department my ass.

The Vita is awesome. But I wouldn't take a single game in its library now, or ever, over Soul Hackers and SMTIV.

I've had my 3DS for over a year and only have about 4 games for it.

I've had my Vita for about 2 months and I already have 4 physical games for it.

I hope it keeps going and I really hope they open up PSN so you can buy games from other regions more easily.

Lol

part of the problem as well.
Got me a new Zelda xl as well for xmas to go with my og 3ds and to boot my next game purchases are as follows.

Tearaway
Rune factory 4
Fire Emblem
Bravely default.
Pokemon
SMT
Vita will always be the first place I look for games I want to play as the 3ds hardware is atrocious.
As that list shows though....

Sony got noone to blame but themselves

Fair enough. But you have to remember, again, that this all is just personal preference.
Personally, I don't think I'd play either of those games if Nintendo GAVE me $40 to play each of them. :P

When was the last time we even had news related to Bioshock Vita?

You will take your Borderlands 2 port. It's the closest thing you'll get, since, y'know, 2K Games.

I see you have adopted my strategy.

Love that GIF. Somehow makes me want to play P4D even though I had 0 interest. :D

Personally, I find more to play on Vita than 3DS. Only thing I couldn't live without on 3DS is Kingdom Hearts. Where as there's no way I could miss out on LittleBigPlanet Vita, Gravity Rush, Tearaway, Killzone and Soul Sacrifice.

When was the last time we even had news related to Bioshock Vita?
Last I remember was just a repeat of "want to do, trying to make a fit" stuff.

(1) Exactly, games are a matter of opinion. And the Internet and the "average consumer" seem to think their opinions are always fact. This is what pisses me off. I'm not claiming that the 3DS doesn't have a library that appeals to people. It doesn't appeal to me, but then again, I don't care about Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, Pokemon or whatever the "hot" Nintendo game of the moment is.
(2) If the higher price of proprietary memory cards is the cost of having a REAL ACCOUNT SYSTEM THAT MY PURCHASES CAN BE TIED TO, then I'm more than happy to pay it.

(1) Well... personally, I do care about them a great deal. But again, "games x better than y" is always a matter of preferences. For me though, 3DS edges out Vita in the games department.

(2) Hahaha yeah. The lack of account system seriously impede my will to actively purchase stuff through e-shop, unlike PSN. But sorry, I just can't find any justification whatsoever for the price Sony's asking for Vita's MC... despite the fact that I own 8, 32, and just recently 64, so I guess I am a weird guy in that I am complaining but I still buy them nonetheless--gosh, Sony must love guys like me, ahahaha.

Also, Suppadoopa, did you just tell people to buy Vita in Life with Horses 3D's Miiverse? Hahaha.

The problem is, minecraft is big on multiplayer, and getting a bunch of kids with multiple vitas is really difficult.
If they could make the vita version able to play multiplayer with the PS3/4 version, that would be great.
Sony would be stupid to not make 4J make that happen. I'm just going to assume it will. Terraria does.
Sight.. Join the 100ppp club
It's annoying having to use the content manager a lot, if you can afford it, then 64GB is the way to go
The 100ppp thing is great. Everything on NeoGAF is just... better. Slower. More methodical. And it's a much better gauge of popular topics.
Vita is done and Sony will be crazy if they waited more.
look at Microsoft and OG Xbox --> 360 jump, that the way to do it when you already no losing anything and can't sell much. end your system cycle early, make a new one early, and release it first, take full control of the market.
the ideal scenario here will be if Sony take Tegra 5/6 (as powerful as PS3/360) and make a PSP3 avoiding all Vita mistakes (cheaper, regular flash memory, full control layout..ect) and use money (from PS4 sales lol) to secure big deals all over the regions starting with lets say GTA, MH and DQ (again Microsoft 360 style) to take back the market and gain trust again.
waiting on Vita and a miracle recover is pointless at this point business wise.
Nope. Sorry. But no.
There's no market to take full control over. Nintendo has that mass market on lock down. They have Pokemon for gods sake. POKEMON !! What would be the Vita's Pokemon? Nothing. So, it will have to do what it does already. 3-4 SCE games a year, ports, and lots of indies. Power isn't the problem. It just isn't. More power will fix nothing, the 3DS says that. And look, the days of securing 3rd parties with mass amounts of money aren't coming back. Titanfall is probably a huge sink for MS. Sony couldn't and can't afford to do that for the Vita. The thing that would save the Vita is a 3DS style year. They'd have to shutter almost all of WWS to Vita and have them come out with their games all in one year. That ain't happening. So, they have indies doing that job. Maybe the Vita will forever ride on the PS4's coatails. Even if just a little bit.

And finally, Sony won't kill the Vita. They are in no position to do so. Famousmortimer said it in a podcast ( paraphrasing ) - " The Vita is making them money. Not a ton of money, but it's not losing money. Anything that makes Sony money, is doing better than half of the companies divisions."

And plus, the Vita isn't done just yet. The Vita TV is the last card Sony needs to play before all is said and done. My hopes have diminished a bit since it flopped hard in Japan but, I don't think Sony did it right. All the VTV needs to do, is be better than the Apple TV. Which, believe me, is not that difficult. We'll revisit the subject one last time November next year.

Please?

I would have jumped on board if they'd put it on sale at ~$5 or so, but considering I already have the PC version which I bought for full $15 at launch I think I may wait a while longer before I think about double dipping. Also Starbound is out....

Hah, you guys make me feel so dumb. I bought Terraria back on Steam ages ago (granted, for only like 5 GBP), then saw Starbound was out and splurged all over that, immediately dropping 15 USD, then literally the next day Terraria exploded onto Vita and I had no trouble forking over 11.99 GBP.

For those two recent purchases I had spare kizash floating in my PayPal account so it doesn't hurt or anything, but still... not often I cave to such moments of impulse.

At least I feel good about donating to Chucklefish, as they seem really hard-working and supportive of the community. Someone mentioned that they could bring it to Vita... which I'd probably buy as well xD

Vita owners need to buy games, forgot about waiting for PS+ sales (this is really damaging the system) and buy new games like Ys and Sorcery Saga. do not just look on what other system have and ask for that but instead Vita owners need to appreciate the good games they have and actually buy them.
On that subject matter, I believe this is relevant.

Don't worry, we're doing our job. And Curve is in the porting indies business. I have to believe the games are selling, but the system is not. Which will catch up with us sooner or later because you need a bigger install base if more games start coming out consistently.

VitaBros, please keep up with your nearly obsessive compulsive need to buy Vita games. ANDGODFUCKINGDAMMITBUYTEARAWAY!!

I agree with everything.

Also, the instant switching of platforms will not do Sony good. You listed one example yourself. The Xbox->360. It had a lot of consumer backlash and Sony doesn't want that with their current situation especially with their humble persona(hehe). Switching really isn't the answer when in the past it always lead to some type of negative backlash like the ones Sega did many times.

Sony is not going to kill the Vita any time soon. It's working out decently in Japan (not great, but surely profitable), and there's still that remote play thing that ties it to the lifespan of the PS4, if only as a PS4 accessory (ugh).

With that said, things aren't going to get any better than how they currently are. The best case scenario we can hope is that the current indies and localization output will remain stable for as long as possible, but it's only going to get worse in the long term.

Can anyone help me choose an aksys game from the weekly deals sale? I want to buy Fate/Extra since I am a fan of the series but I also want to try their other games.

At least Konami should release Suikoden 3-5 on PSN so we can ignore them forever

Indeed.

Don't care a bit of Metal Gear. If the world is up to me, I will be glad to trade all Metal Gear games, past, present, and future, for just one or two more proper Suikoden games.

Been a while since I posted here. Too lazy to catch up- all I know is right now people are all like 'Vita VS 3DS' 'Vita games that haven't come out (and may never come out)' 'Vita sales suck' Sony is deceptive' 'Vita is cool and 3DS droolz'. :P

So I got a 32GB memory card with that GameStop deal a couple weeks ago. Dunno what I should do with my 8GB and 16GB cards. I had originally planned to put all my digital Vita games (games also available at retail) on the 32GB, my PSN only games on the 16GB, and PSP/PS1/etc on the 8GB. Now I'm considering putting most of my digital games on the 32GB with most of my PSN games (sadly can't fit everything strictly Vita on it...) because I had divided them (PSN and Digital) between my 8GB and 16GB, but switching cards is a pain, and it led to me pretty much only using one card for an extended period of time (and limiting me to playing either PSN only games or full Vita games). What should I do? I really need that 64GB...

Metal Gear and Kojima is like joke at this point. The guy seems failed to raise new talent and forced to do all of this by himself again. Soon or later Metal Gear as franchise will run out, though they still have The Boss story as trump card if anything happens.

Look at that... join us, join the beautiful side. You know you can't resist.... you know the answer to your anguish....

Metal Gear 3 is cool, I admit, but not as cool as Suikoden 2 or V in my absolutely subjective eyes and mind.

I never play Suikoden, since I'm too young to play JRPG at that time but I always my brother play it every single time. Even as an observer, it still an unforgetable moment for me.

Customizable remote play controls needs to happen. Warframe is unplayable with it's stupid set-up.

Waiting on my $10 credit so I can probably buy Terraria. Although gotta finish Ys and then Rayman first. x_x

;_;

Bu..but the 32GB was supposed to answer it... The goal posts just keep moving :'(

Seriously though, I'm prolly gonna wait for the 64 to release in the US first, and if it's cheaper to just import it, then I'll buy it that way (if not, I'll buy it locally). Just don't want to deal with worrying about importing- only thing I've ever 'imported' is like, phone parts from eBay.

Should I just sell my old memory cards, or keep them handy?

Go for it.

If you have multiple region accounts then keep it.
Hey, I'm not hating, I'm hoping. I would buy a Vita version of both games again, happily.

SMTIV would look gorgeous on it.
Haha, I was just saying that I'll probably take P4G over those two game too. They're all good games really. I was just joking with the gif.
Nothing else to do on this handheld.

You're really working hard on the Vita convincing especially when it's on the rival's turf. U dun gud.

Thought about making a JP PSN several times in the past, but never have. Just not cool enough for you other Vitabros I guess :P

Top of the page: go buy Tearaway! And save your money for Terraria (or buy it if you're in Europe)- the time you spend with it is more than worth the money.

It could be a nice demo account. As long as you're a Vita user then you're cool. Not as cool as 100ppp users though.

Has anyone else had music on their Vita suddenly becoming corrupted? Yesterday I loaded up my favourite playlist and noticed that one of the songs were suddenly replaced with "Corrupt File". Hope my memory card isn't faulty or something.

Dude......................

RESIP.jpg

This image just reminded me that I've never completed Resident Evil 2. Played without a memory card and always died at a certain giant reptile. I should get back into that.
