US will get

Mario Kart 8 release date with a new trailer ( march )
Bravely default demo
Luigi's Mansion 2 Dark Moon HD for wii u coming in march
more boring mario golf and boring kriby 3DS gameplay
bunch of indie game motage
and end it with a trailer of Smash for wii u coming " soon ", trailer will have all the characters revealed since E3 in it, nothing new beside Zelda's look in the game also 3DS version canceled because please understand.

The most realistic post in the thread. :(

guess it's not too late to rule out kirby air ride 2

this time it really gets good after 120 hours

I loved that game. I miss Gamecubes library and its diversity compared to today's variety in the market :(

Super Monkey Ball was also great, had tons of fun!

There's no way smash bros wasn't going to be on this Direct. Yes, it'll probably release next October, but it's such an easy crowd pleasing move to release a new or returning fighter that there's no way they won't do it.

Also, they haven't been hiding this game so far, so there's no point in starting now. We'll get tons of updates for smash over the next couple of months, so this should be a big one.

They said it is a ND for Spring titles.. Smash is not coming in Spring...

They say that to keep hype up / disappointment down - otherwise people would be like 'Wait, that's ALL nintendo has in development?!? All of it?'

They can obviously break their own rules and show next autumn's games. Remember, Pikmin 3 was a launch title once.

Nintendo never follows their own rules. They put these guidelines up for ND's, but a lot of times they will show stuff that doesn't fit.

At least I remember that happening a few times, but I'm blanking on solid examples.

Nintendo kills the Wii U, announces a new next gen console...current Wii U owners get their current Wii U game libraries for free on it if they upgrade for the ambassador price of $99 USD.

I can dream can't I?

Predictions:

The beginning will focus on Wii Fit U.

We didn't get it (or much of it?) last time on Nintendo Direct, so I expect significant time spent on Kirby Triple Deluxe and Yoshi's New Island.

I also expect an actual trailer for Yarn Yoshi, even though it will end up being a sort of 'cheat', with the game not coming out until after this spring.

Third Sonic game is revealed to be Sonic Kart Racing sequel for 3DS.

Two new unannounced games from Nintendo for the 3DS eShop. One of them designed to connect to a mobile companion app for the full experience.

Aonuma will announce that he hopes Japanese players are looking forward to LttP2, and that he wants to continue to challenge ideas about what Zelda is. After that, he'll segue into a super brief Smash trailer to reveal playable Princess Zelda.

Reggie takes a moment here to specifically mention that he'll do everything in his power to prevent X from making it out of Japan. Says that he's currently fighting NCL over this, as it just isn't a profitable investment and they don't 'get' the US and EU markets.

Another DKC:TF showcase trailer, this time showing a few gimmicks from various levels, and how all different character abilities get used.

Then we'll get some more details on Mario Kart 8, including a release date, info about a few tracks, and a trailer to go along.

Three third party games for Wii U are shown. All are multiplats, two are late ports.

Towards the end they'll brag about Miiverse 3DS, and announce another baby step forward towards an account system. After that, they'll announce a Christmas sale from tomorrow until Tuesday on the eShop, with popular any popular Mario or Zelda NES, GB, or SNES games that are up so far.

Reggie's big 'last thing' will be a collaboration with Capcom to bring Monster Hunter 4 to the West.

"Focusing" not "Exclusively"

Fair enough.

And on that day we receive a grim reminder.. that we lived in hype of nintendo directs

they target parents and their kids, all of us in neogaf that dont have little kids are irrelevant to nintendo, we can leave de hype train now

They already made it clear awhile back that this holiday they would focus on families because of the titles they have available and then next year they would be releasing their more "hardcore" games.

Oooohhh my god. What if Pokémon Conquest 2 and RSEremakes get announced

and FF tactics A3D

And a new FFCC title

why am I doing this to myself

When do we get the desperation Direct like we got with X last year?

In less than 24 hours. If they have things to show, now is the time. Every day the WiiU stumbles further into the abyss - if they can convince anyone else to take the Christmas plunge they'll do it.

I still think they'll save Zelda U for E3, but I'd say everything else that they have is on the table.

This music starts to play. a distant ship against a gorgeous space backdrop flies in from a distance. It lands on an luminous vegetative planet. Samus rises from the ship and the camera pans around her body into first person.

METROID PRIME 4

Anything less and it'll be a disappointment. :P
