Awesome! :) You should definitely pick up a The One if you haven't already. A great next gen experience with great games.

Just be patient, I'm sure one will be available soon. Do you already have The One?

For a second there I thought you were suggesting that someone brought this awesome printed mag back from the dead... ;_;

maybe its to inform people out there who dont have any luck finding one

and why does this upset you anyway

Well, I can only speak for myself, but while it doesn't upset me, I also don't really think it's thread-worthy every time someone sees an Xbox One when they're out shopping.

Guess Microsoft is better equipped to provide supply for their product. I guess I am shocked by Sony's misjudgment.

So if I sold a delicious chocolate product AND a treat made of 100% feces, the fact that the feces treat was on the store shelves while the chocolate product was gone would mean that I am better equipped to provide supply for feces? Taking aside the fact that I literally _can_ provide feces more easily than chocolate, I think your logic is flawed...

A) Sony could be providing just as many units as Microsoft
B) Sony could even be providing MORE units as Microsoft
C) Sony has launched the PS4 in (my last count) 48 regions and while possibly providing fewer units in the US could be providing more overall
D) Consumer demand may simply be higher for the PS4 than XBOne causing PS4s to disappear immediately upon stocking them
e) Frankly, the week before Xmas and people (and retailers) are repeatedly seeing units on store shelves... I'm getting the "bad for Microsoft" buzz slightly more than the "good for Microsoft" buzz about units being almost readily available.

I'm not saying any of those ARE true (although I have my suspicions), but there are 4 easy to come up with explanations (and one piece of commentary) that poke a hole in your deduction... unless you were being sarcastic, in which case we'll pretend I'm being double-secret sarcastic back at ya!

I'm just going by what a friend who works at Target told me. He said they've gotten double the amount of shipments of Xbox Ones and they come in 8-10 versus 2 per box of PS4s.

Maybe it's a combination of higher demand and lower stock then.

Still, it's quite troubling they don't both instantly sell out before christmas. Maybe XBO stocks were just huge.

PS4: delicious chocolate
XB1: treat made of 100% feces

I went to Best Buy twice in one day for different reasons. First time there was a "XBOX ONE IN STOCK NOW" notice on the entrance/exit, the second time I went a few hours later it was gone.

So at least where I'm at there's plenty of demand to go around.

I went to Target last night and saw multiple Xbox Ones available for purchase with zero PS4s in stock. Does anyone else find this shocking? Anyone see the same?

Same here however , i saw xbone is 2 places about 12 of them and another 6-8 ps4s as well, all at target.

Both consoles are selling fine. There is nothing "troubling" about the launch of either one.

I'd say since the US was the main Xbox country, it's troubling PS4 sells out instantly and XBO stays on shelves everywhere. You'd expect the opposite for Microsoft.

It's hardly "selling fine" for them, it spells trouble at least in terms of worldwide market share.

I doubt they'd change shipping boxes based on retailer but the Xbone ships 2 per box, PS4 3. I work warehouse for bby & receive them on a weekly basis. Idk why that matters though

We have received more Xbox shipments, I'd say 2-3 above PS4 but they usually come in smaller doses (15-20 at a time). Our store has also not sold out of our Sunday shipments by a long shot. I definitely think it will keep pace w/ PS4 in Dec NPDs but the demand for PS4 has been a lot stronger.

Posted this in another thread but most Best Buys should be getting their 2nd biggest PS4 shipments for Sundays Ad. I think we'll get a good look at how strong demand is then

Edit: Quoted comment might mean unit/pallet

You managed to generate more salt than the person that first called it Xbone. You are doing god's work.

Really? How many has it sold under their internal projections?

Yup. I've seen two XB1 units in my local Target three days in a row. No PS4s however. Downtown San Francisco @ 4th & Mission.

St Louis area, every Best Buy has them available for in-store pickup.

Can't wait for NPD for December. Either MS is shipping insane amounts to the US or demand isn't as high as expected.

First shipments sold fine, but even WiiU first shipments sold fine. That's not what matters.

If it's already not selling out in their main country while christmas is not even here, it can either mean demand is a bit low, OR their shipments were huge.

I agree we can't be sure though.

I finally saw an X1 on a shelf in my town last Sunday. The salesperson said they had two left from this morning and expected both to go in an hour or so.

There has been a lot of X1 availability on Amazon in the last few days but it was sold out last I checked. So it looks like MS is catching up with demand.

On the PS4 side I have yet to see one in a store but I was just able to order one this morning from Sony thanks to the site that a NeoGaf user pointed me to (thanks!) http://www.nowinstock.net/videogaming/consoles/ps4/

It's hard to tell anything from anecdotal "seen it at Target" evidence, but I am a bit surprised that either console has shelf stock available in the US 6 days before Christmas.

To undermine my own point, I did see 8 Xboxes at Target yesterday afternoon (Manhattan, KS if anyone is trying to pick one up).

No PS4s and very few games/accessories though.

GameStop on 33rd street and 6th avenue in New York City currently have 6 xbox one in stock. I spoke with the sales associates a few minutes ago. They had 6 for a couple of days now according to her. Which is very surprising because it's one of the biggest shopping location in NYC because of the world largest Macy's building and the mall.
The currently have no PS4 in stocks

This is the only "negative" I see as well. I've worked retail 6-7 years now, hot items at Christmas sell out fast & people do whatever they can to get them. Why I'm waiting to see our Sunday #'s. Should be interesting

Every Best Buy in New York City has them in stock right now. It appears by the end of the month every retailer should have it consistently in-stock as they'll start shipping more units to stores that sell more than others. The question is what kind of numbers are we talking about? I'm curious to see how many Xbox's we've sold at our store since Sunday when they went on sale. I think we had around 60-70 and had 3 people lining up when we opened.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/microso...&cmp=RMX&ky=28oPyDFv0KHcisHwQcZfO0qg5PUU1VPjs

you poor guys are so desperate to try and get word out there that this thing has been hard to find. Even though it's been available on bestbuy.com and in almost every Best Buy B&M store for over a week now.

I'll give you guys a hint. As easy as it is to find XBONE right now (really, just click the above link), it's going to continue to only get easier, no matter how many of these "omg xbone is actually available somewhere. hurry!!!!!" threads start.

OMG so unavailable

From my hunting/asking "available everywhere" is just not the case. Available in some area's, certainly, but I have been keeping a close eye in my town as I find this whole topic interesting and I am often looking for things to do while my wife shops!

your town doesn't have internet for online ordering? weird.

terrible photo but apparently they've had stock at the london drugs here for a few weeks - only sold about 10 total, about 6-10 avail.

PS4 sold just under 20, continually out of stock.

Ah ah... But it's because of the huge shipments they told you. That's healthy, demand is huge, it's just MS shipped billions of consoles you know. It's NOT collecting dust on shelves.

I really don't have any intent to look at why it's available. Just that the fact remains that XBONE has been easily purchasable for around two weeks now (since amazon started the 6-8 hour every day thing) and yet posts keep popping up insinuating that "omg it's finally in stock somewhere! hurry!!!".

It's like they are more upset the thing is readily available than the sony fanboys that used to cry out "low demand!!!"

Shoot us a zip code, unless you are on top of a mountain in Alaska (there are only 5 available there), I bet we can find one close to you. I can tell you in Louisville, it has been a 'walk in and grab one' item since the week after Black Friday.

PS4 I got locally through a bundle, and the second PS4 I got from GAF announcing surprise in stock at Amazon a few weeks back.

I posted in another thread a few days ago - but I was at the Target here in Papillion, NE and there were 2 Xbox One's for sale. Packed store - no one gave a fuck.

It was really weird seeing a game console, just hanging out, not getting bought, with Xmas right around the corner. I don't think I've ever seen 'any' game console just sitting on a store shelf, especially with it just releasing less than a month ago.

Maybe Xbox (the original). Which I also bought. . .

Agreed. I'll be happy to do the bare minimum of Googling to help unite him with an Xbox.

I went to GameStop last night to check if they have Xbox one in stock. Of course they had tons of them. But what was funny was when I checked if they had ps4. The guy checking the system couldn't believe they had one left. He even asked his coworker if it was for real lol. Should I even get an Xbox one? I asked it from my gf for Xmas.

I mean...do you need it NOW or can you wait 6 months? (or 3 months for titanfall).

Because there's not a lot of great stuff out for it NOW.

What? Is there something else that you would call it when a fast-selling item's stock is replenished frequently, genius? Selling electronics isn't a war, it's a business. You want your customers to be able to buy your product when they get to the store. You don't want mountains of them piling up Rock Revolution-style, of course, but there is no indication that this is the case here.

How "fast" are they selling when they have been in stock at many retailers for over a week?

Both systems will be fine, and if you primarily like western games, then you are probably fine with a XBOne. If it was up to me, everyone would have both... but PS4 or PC would be the lead development platform.

Just left Walmart. XBox One production must be off the chart. Look at all these Bones (ha I think it is only 4, they are just huge boxes)! Lady said they have a ton in the back too just no room left in display. No PS4 (I have never seen one in the wild here). The weird thing is they dont even have a SKU or price for a PS4 at the bottom of the PS display. I know they sell them because it is where I got my preorder.
Oh this is in Summerville, SC. Outside of Charleston.

This is true. Most PS4 owners I know tired of it very quickly, much like Milhouse tired of Bonestorm quickly. What we need is a system that's equivalent to the cup and ball. WiiU?

Yeah, just followed borghe's link to Best Buy and checked availability, and it's at all the stores going 2 pages deep in the results (didn't check further) in the Charlotte, NC area (and outward).

Barring a large shipment hitting stores just this morning, it appears that XBO has satiated initial demand to a significant degree, so the only thing to do now is wait and see what the numbers turn out to be. We'll probably get some PR out of Microsoft after the holidays, but if not, NPD is still 4 weeks out.

On at least Best Buy's site, PS4 is not available online and there's no store option. Shipment numbers for both are still vital, in order to put it all into perspective.

What on Earth does being in stock have to do with anything? We know that millions have been sold in less than a month. We know that it's up there on the Amazon charts despite being in stock quite frequently, meaning that people are buying them. We know that these two launches have BOTH eclipsed all that came before them as far as sales volume goes. We know that large shipments are coming in, are being sold to consumers, and then are being replaced with more shipments. This is not anecdotal, it's what's going on.

For a community that pride themselves on being "educated consumers", falling so hard for the old "If I can find it it's a failure" idea is really embarrassing.

This has nothing to do with warz or who wins what, they are both performing very healthily so far. That could change tomorrow or next year, but there is no reason you would extrapolate that from what we've seen so far (except that it's what you want to happen).

It's not an entire community. Just a handful of posters working really hard to spread the idea that MS is in a weak position right now. Just ignore them.
