Ken Levine's Top 10 Games of 2013

embarrassing.

Never heard of Unity of Command, will have to check it out
But it's a dereliction of his duties as a game player (and a human being!) to not play Last of Us and rank it properly in your top 2.

I'm pretty upset that his opinion of the Top games does not match my own. Burn the Heretic.

Looks like I'm getting fallen enchantress on Steam now.

Oh god if I was a successful developer and I made a GOTY list gaf would tear my ass asunder.

As long as your most recent game wasn't mediocre and forgettable, people would go easy on you.

Unity of Command looks like history channel the game, so it must be a super hardcore pc strategy game.

It's actually extremely accessible and fun to play for people who haven't tried the genre before. If you want super hardcore check out the Hearts of Iron series.

I find developer lists interesting because, in all honestly, when they are working really hard on a game or getting ready to ship, I seriously doubt they actually play a lot of games, so you see stuff you've never heard of or stuff they just got around to playing.

Also, Ken doesn't have any friends? What?

Churchill didn't actually say that. I only know this because I like to get wasted and listen to the Pogues, and sometimes look things up.

As for the list, I'd put his game and TLOU and a few others ahead of some of these. Also didn't play a few of them so I'll check those out too.

Cool, it looked daunting from the screenshots but I don't know to much about the pc strategy scene so...everything looks daunting.

That's understandable.

I'll post a comparison anyway!

There are tooltips for EVERYTHING in Unity of Command. And it's all easy to read and understand.

Getting ready to post RooMHM's top10 in a new thread.
How is Ken Levine considered as a video games wise master is beyond my comprehension.

Hmmmm....... Love the list. Filled with surprises and intrigues me to maybe check out some new stuff. Lords of water deep? On my phone right now and I have never checked it out . Good stuff.

someone send Levine a 3DS with no games. The sense of shallowness would then mirror my own when playing Infinite

unity of command is a unforgiving game which demands perfection but the mechanics are some of the best around. i can only hope that at least one developer lifts the game's supply line mechanic and incorporates it into something that is a little more gamey.

surprised anybody would be interested in the expansion given how hard the og game is

System Shock 2 and Thief.

Man, I played System Shock 2 for the first time this year and that game is incredible; playing the highest difficulty and with a headset in a dark room was a fantastic experience that no other FPS this year replicated for me

Also, how deep that game is.. I like the new BioShock games, but man it's just so weird how much deeper older games are compared to new ones

I like how his top game is an obscure game he just happens to love. If I were to make a list, Prison Architect would be my top game, and its not even finished.

It's not that obscure, but if you're not into war/strategy games it's not strange that you haven't heard about it.
