I've got an avatar bet with Pop-O-Matic on this because it's not an assist trophy. The design of the shield makes it clear that it's Zelda's Phantom from Spirit Tracks, but the aesthetic has been changed and more details have been added to make it look like it could be from Twilight Princess.
The redesign makes it pretty clear that it's part of her moveset and I will be vindicated on this soon.

Oh neat, possible new move (unless Sakurai's trolling us to the max here). I wonder what move it'll replace though.

Probably Dedede too, since he's got a sub-game in it starting him and he's playable in the main game at some point, apparently.
Isn't Skull Kid also very detailed? Also the Nintendog is very detailed..

Detailed is a poor word, but their design is a direct translation of their original art in the the SSB4 style (which mandates some amount of detail all its own). Every assist trophy from Brawl and what we've seen here adheres to that. The Phantom would be an unprecedented change.
Skull Kid's probably a bad example though, since he's not really that detailed. Simple textures and a low-poly model. Looks like it was just modified slightly from the source material.

More like not "sticking" with their original look. Phantom feels stylized to match Zelda.

That actually seems pretty likely due to Phantom tendency to follow a path and hit whatever it finds...

They might give her a new button to transform, such as taunt button or something else.
I don't want the goddess powers replaced on Zelda. The goddesses are a huge part of the Zelda series while the Phantom Armor thing happened once and most likely will never happen again.
That's why I hope the Armor is down b. Not that I want Sheik gone though. I'd be fine if she was a different character or if Zelda changed by taunting.

I'm indifferent towards the whole phantom thing and undecided about what it is and feel it is being taken way too seriously for just one little thing.

I'm pretty sure that we are getting same items, poke balls and assist trophies on both system. If we didn't then Stafy would be 3DS assist trophies for sure since his games only release for handheld system.

I don't think we've seen any items in the 3DS version so far. As for Assist Trophies, I'd imagine that they'll be the same between versions. Only content I see being different are stages and perhaps some single player content (stage specific event mode matches for example or a larger adventure mode for Wii U).
