I'm getting tired of all the Nicktoons kills and the lack of Disney kills. Here's a quick defense for why Rugrats shouldn't die so early:

Rugrats, at least the original 3-4 seasons, has some great writing at times. It was truly a great cartoon of the 90s- starting in 1991 and lasting until god knows when.

The holiday specials were fantastic and more mature than just about any other children-focused cartoon, and the jokes amongst the adults were great.

Some episodes to consider off the top of my head:

Legend of the Satchmo
A Rugrats Passover
The Blizzard
Grandpa Moves Out
The Inside Story (Chucky swallows the watermelon seed)
Reptar on Ice

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I dont want to move the thread along so fast that really great shows get voted off early becaysuse of snipes.

I say keep it to 2 kills a round but if there's a tie maybe consider nixing a third.

Markster, good divided list. It reminds me that the following really should go soon:

  • The Weekenders
    [*]Arthur
    [*]Recess
    [*]Hercules
    [*]Aladdin
    [*]Goof Troop
    [*]Gargoyles
    [*]Pinky & The Brain
    (we'll have Animaniacs)

I obviously have others I'm hoping to cut too, but these stick out against the competition.

Sounds like a good idea.
I really shouldve cut down the list beforehand but idk.

A long slow burn makes for a better payoff in the end!
It's only 15 days until top 10, which really isn't that long. We've already done 11 days.

TRUTH! I say Aladdin and Hercules are definite outs! I think I'm going to have to stick to my double Aladdin kill vote.

EDIT: Killing 2 is already causing unnecessary casualties (Daria and almost Ren & Stimpy). 4 would be very scary. Let it stand at 2 per day.

i hear nothing but praise for Gargoyles.

It took me a bit to divorce my love for A Goofy Movie from Goof Troop, but after watching a few YouTube clips I'm positive that show should go before top 15.

Re-visiting childhood shows isn't always a good idea. The only ones that have held up for me are Batman TAS and Animaniacs. For this thread I'm tuning into how much my young self loved/hated the show.

Both of these still hold up very well for me, along with some others. I can't go back and say the same thing about X-Men TAS and Recess.

Kill: Pokemon
Kill: Swat Kats

Save: Ren & Stimpy- Anybody who votes to kill R&S doesn't deserve to post in a 90's cartoon vote off. You people make me fucking sick. We need a protected list that automatically goes to the final 15 so assholes can't ruin it for everyone else.

Kill: Ren & Stimpy - Let's try once more :p
Kill: Ren & Stimpy
Save: Eek! The Cat - Was either this or Bobby's World to save, so yeah.

and yet you keep choosing SWAT Kats... why?

Edit: I have a feeling that some people have deep unexpressed reasons why they hate some of these shows. I can honestly say that there isn't a show on that list that I didn't like. The thing about 90's cartoons is that the 90's was all about kids, and thats why it had the best kid shows and toys. As extreme as the 80's but focused on kids. I do worry how many of these shows may get voted off because people didn't get the chance to experience them.

This has been pissing me off the most in this thread. If you watched the show as a kid and did not like it, I respect your decision. An opinion is an opinion. But voting off a show you've never seen doesn't make sense to me.

Kill: Aladdin
Kill: Aladdin

Save: Ren and Skimpy

Can't believe I have to use my saves on this with such crap still left on the board.

That's what's pissing me off. The trend so far has been everyone ganging on one show for no reason. It happened to Angry Beavers, now it's happening to Ren & Stimpy. I bet most of the people voting for those shows has never even seen it.

What if for next round we vote for five shows that absolutely deserve to be top ten.
For example
Kill:
Kill:
Save:
MustHave:
Musthave:
And the top five shows for that are safe from elimination until then. Unless they end up being top two in which case that negates that.
We have more than enough shows for the two lists to not coincide.

I'd be fine with this if we have to pick two different shows instead of just using two votes for one show. That would add more variety and not just give one show so many votes that other shows are ignored.

I'm against this. I like the back and forth going on. People getting butthurt (including myself) is entertaining.

Kill: Swat Kats
Kill: Fantastic Max

Never saw either show.

Save: Ren & Stimpy

Seriously, space madness, happy happy joy song and LOG!

Too many rule changes. I don't know what to believe anymore. I don't think I've killed or saved for this round yet, sooo...

Kill: Arthur
Kill: Arthur

PBS garbage. DW is obnoxious. Not sure what kind of animal Arthur and his family are.

Save: DBZ

Level 9000 used to mean something.

We're fighting over beavers and eeediots when freakin' ARTHUR is still floating around? This thread is all kinds of jacked up. I love it! Mua ha ha haaaaaa!

None enacted yet. Just discussing it.

I didn't have any time to see if anything good was on the bubble and then counter-vote. I'm afraid.

Mmm, I feel like if we're doing Top 5 but each person gets 2 votes, then potentially a couple of people could get together and guarantee a show Top 10 (since there's no...uhh...Anti-Must-Have vote).

People are trying to defend Rugrats? Really...
And that fact Swat Cats is getting all this love, yet, Biker Mice From Mars was swept under the rug rather instantly and without a word... i'm losing hope people...

I loved Rugrats/it was a big part of my childhood. I can still sing songs from the show and I haven't seen it in well over a decade. It's a classic.

I like Swat Cats as well, but in a face to face..mmmm....

o/Reptar Reptar, gotta find that Reptar\o or something like that, from Reptar on Ice
