Pic of the day. The ropes surrounding the ring. You can actually use the stretchiness of the ropes to do a spring jump. However, you can't pull on them to launch yourself sideways in a lariat attack though.
So apparently people think that mydadworksatnintendo.tumblr.com is a real leaker.
He's not, it's a tumblr blog I made to collect all the fake "leaks".
Kokonoe is my waifu.
EDIT: I want these lovelies to be on the new page. I plan to get both versions of Smash, but man... 3DS version has something special to it.
(It must be my OoT nostalgia. First the Gerudo Valley stage, and now the Saria-on-a-stump trophy!)

I thought this was pretty obvious, considering "my dad works at nintendo" is a classic leaker "reason/source".
Absolutely a Punch Out stage. The "Smash Bros" on the LED signage in the background has the same gradient on it as the Punch Out Wii logo:

Whenever I would post tidbits about this, I got a couple of requests to make this its own thread, so I decided to go ahead go through with it.
So, the boxing ring stage. You've seen it, I'm sure. Some people aren't exactly sure if it's a Punch Out related stage, if it's a Kirby themed stage, or just a generic new boxing ring stage just for kicks. Well, I'm gonna tell you that this stage is a Punch Out themed stage for a multitude of reasons. So let's begin I guess...
First off, the audience is human, so you can rule out any possibility that this is a Kirby themed stage (all Kirby boxing rings have Kirby characters instead). The marquee's in the background are all dot styled, which is consistent with the marquees in Punch Out Wii, and even the title screen and round indicators for Mike Tyson's Punch Out.
Various dot styled marquee screens: http://i.imgur.com/sgmo0ru.png
All logos in Punch Out Wii are adorned with clusters of stars, which are usually in 3's because triple star punches are the most powerful punch in the game, as well as the "leaf vines" on the sides (forgive me; I don't know the term for this) and a giant star somewhere in the middle. The logo in the ring, while being smash themed, shares all of these characteristics.

The ring ropes are also identical in both color and configuration as the Major Circuit ring in Punch Out Wii. Similarly, the corners are all identical colors and positions as the Punch Out Wii corners. The logo in Smash also features a ribbon at the top, which is a direct throwback to the World Circuit ribbon at the top and bottom of the logo.

Also, as a random tidbit, the ribbon in the Smash Punch Out stage says "CHAMPIONSHIP" on it, which is probably because if it straight up said "Major Circuit" on it, it would be flat out obvious. Plus since Smash Bros doesn't have "circuits", championship makes more sense in the context of the game.
The final fight in Punch Out Wii, Mr. Sandman, has a very particular entrance for both his Title Defense and Contender fights. He approaches the ring while there's a green laser light show that goes on behind him. Well, check this out...

Same green laser show.
But yeah, there are an abundance of intentional details that suggest this stage is designed to be a Punch Out stage. There may be a few details that I'm missing, but those were all the details I seemed to notice. Unsure if this confirms Mac being a character, but at the very least there's a stage from the Punch Out series in the game.

Squiddy pls.Might just ignore Smash for Wii U since i don't have people to play with, and just settle with the 3DS version.
Thanks. Great breakdown. It's hilarious, considering the fact that it actually happened before but only few rumors that ended up being real.
Yeah, here is more explanation.
If there's no rhythm heaven something in this game, I will send Sakurai hate mail for years to come

I've given up on the Nintendog. It's not happening. The Assist Trophy was probably switched to a French Bulldog because that's one of the main breeds in Nintendogs + Cats. Also, no matter the breed, a Nintendog is a Nintendog, and so it would be strange for a single character to be both playable and an Assist Trophy. It would be like making the male Wii Fit Trainer an AT.I'm saying that it's possible, but not likely tho.

You guys are totally off-base with the Nintendogs predictions.
Clearly the playable rep will be one of the commentators from the Nintendogs Dog Show, and his moveset will consist of summoning trick-performing dogs to attack opponents. His Final Smash will be summoning a pack of German Shepherds.
CLEARLY
The real important question is can we go under the ring and grab folding chairs, tables and ladders to beat people to death with?

This is funny because I was just doing my own research on boxing rings and Punch-Out!! boxing rings in particular to see how much matched up. Though my research wasn't as thorough and all I came up with was that it is indeed a boxing ring (and not a wrestling ring) and that the rope colors are the same in Smash as they are in Punch-Out!! Wii.
The only inconsistency I could find is that the neutral corner to the left of the blue corner is yellow in Smash, while it's white in Punch-Out!!.

Still, most signs are point toward it being a Punch-Out!! stage.
All this talk of Rawk Hawk and no official nintendo luchador bird

Honestly, when I thought "official Nintendo luchador bird", I thought of that "Lucha" Animal Crossing character:Also

Did Brawl even have any Rhythm Tengoku references in it at all? I mean, the first came out in 2006 and I don't remember it recognizing the game at all.
Still, the game's turned into a pretty decently sized series since then (and one of my personal favorites fo' sho) so I really hope it gets SOMETHING in Smash 4. A character would be amazing but extremely unlikely, a stage would be rad, but I would really even just take some music from the game playing on the WarioWare stage. Hopefully Tsunku owning the music (if that's the case) doesn't prevent it from happening.
I'm looking through website for daily images, and I think that Nintendog being playable character is still possible. The main model is more likely to be Labrador Retriever.
There can be a Punch-Out!! stage without it being "Little Mac's level."As such, Sakurai is not going to put in something that could be very easily seen as a boxing ring, and have it not be Little Mac's level.
Wasn't it only a GBA game during Brawl's time?
ofc i know its not real i just thought the images looked cool lolSo apparently people think that mydadworksatnintendo.tumblr.com is a real leaker.

everything about the blog looks fake so im pretty sure no one is that stupid
Are you 100% sure?![]()
So Little Mac confirmed, then?
There have been levels for franchises with no reps before, but I still feel that his chances are very good.
Speaking of stages with no reps, if we don't get an Advance Wars rep, I hope we at least get a stage, complete with raging chunky-bit battle.

And Animal Crossing. And PictoChat.Eletroplankton had a stage =P
And Animal Crossing. And PictoChat.
There are also Nintendogs and Pilotwings stages this time around, but nobody's anticipating playable characters from those series.
