My favourite Scooter attack from P4G.

I'm pleased by how good this game looks. Some PS360 games look kind of crappy when ported to Vita. (I wouldn't be surprised if this is why Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 disables screenshots.)

Would also take some Dead or Alive: Dimensions screenshots for comparison, but the game doesn't have a Miiverse community D:

Looks much nicer on the smaller screen. Problem is the inconsistent framerate that ranges between 20-60FPS, and the ~1 second freezes whenever the game auto-saves. I have no idea why they let the game go to a screeching halt during those times. The framerate seems significantly worse with touch controls. I was surprised when I hit 60FPS when I started a new game with regular controls. Also, the prompt says I can change the control scheme in the options mid-game but I couldn't find it at all, so I had to start a new game.

I started playing it with normal controls and the performance is still wildly inconsistent. I can't imagine it could be worse...?
I can deal with occasional slowdowns, but random speedups are really distracting. The general clunkyness of the game combined with this and the horrible hitching drove me to stop playing just before what I assume was the end of the first episode (the
cliché choose who dies moment in the convenience store
).

It'll take some work to get me to start it back up again. I expected a far more polished experience from such a highly acclaimed game :-/

Anywho. That's off topic. Back to kz :-P

This does look beautiful, but I'm almost certain it won't click with me. Strategy games in pretty much any guise aren't my thing.

It will click :P

Build an 'army' carefully, send army to attack!
Don't build when expecting to be attacked soon or under a threat from a nearby big enemy.
Pick the planets with the best stats to get the best army guys.
Defensive plants do decent damage and look after your planets from a small invasion when you're out colonizing.
Never send your whole army first to an unknown planet, always investigate with one or two guys.
Don't stretch yourself too thin.

The game introduces mechanics (so you don't have to worry about all this straight away) and concepts very smartly and has tips you can use for each level if you are stuck, you can also change the difficulty (play setting) and even unlock later levels and modes/re-lock them whenever you want from the options. You can also play on normal speed for most of the time, only speeding it up (using the buttons in top-left) when you're set and waiting.

Last 2 tips:
Set beacons from big planets to smaller ones, so they don't reach their cap (40 army guys in one planet) and stop producing. - this way you get unlimited guys from the big planet, constantly pumping out dudes, at the expense of small planet (weaker guys) which stops producing after 40 guys (seedlings) are circling it.

Use crapper seedlings to build your trees, don't waste the good ones. You can sort between them in the bottom left after triggering send mode.

Wish damage numbers went away when you took pictures. Means you have to time the picture slightly before or after the blow lands.

I know a lot of people dislike the Spelunky HD art style but I absolutely love it. It's so colorful, clean, yet detailed. It's fantastic to me.

People dislike the art style? I'm not a huge fan of the game, but I think it looks great. Especially on Vita.

If that's what flash games look like these days then maybe I'll have something to play on my laptop that's just hanging in there. Probably not.

Spelunky's visuals grow on you with time though. The caves aren't exactly a pleasure at first (made worse by the game's hard nature making you hate it more, lol) for people used to nice blue skies etc.

I know there's a lot to the game, but it's so damn well made I just want the guy to be adding to it non-stop lol. Make it really game of the forever.

Addicted to this game. Actually enjoy it more on Vita than PS3

And here's a moment from Uncharted: Golden Abyss that wowed me when I first saw it. A still image doesn't really do it justice sadly, the water looks amazing in motion

The black spot on the first image is Agnés' hands clipping through the costume...I think...

Nice pics Capell, really like the second one as well. Love how RPGs sort of bring background art to life (if you know what I mean), looks like a great place.
