'pretty expensive' PC my arse. You could probably play it with an AMD FX CPU, 8GB RAM and GTX 760 series or equivalent. By the time FFXV is out that won't be expensive at all.
Not to mention Xbox One and PS4 basically ARE PC's. I don't even know if you could get away with calling, say, a Steam release a 'port' because I'd imagine the amount of work done to put it there would be minimal.
I'll double dip with MGSV on PC if it ever comes there, the game must be a looker with all settings maxed out

In that context they probably consider "pretty expensive PCs" everything that doesn't run on integrated graphics.Yep, they are basically saying 'Even if we ship PC version of FFXV expect a shitty, unoptimized port - do you really want that?'. Disgusting approach, tbh.
I see people mentioning this over and over, but in case you missed the very same thing is true for FF XV, which was running on Windows and DirectX 11 at E3.It seems very likely that MGSV will get a PC release. This game is running on a PC-based engine (correct?) and he has talked about a PC version more than he ever has, really (even with MGS and MGS2 releasing on PC), so I think there's a very good chance it comes to PC.

Can someone please explain to me the recurring "Final Fantasy XV? *lol* NOT LIKELY!" going on on this thread?
Is there any particular reason to make people think that way?

Can't think of any reason why FFXV won't appear on PC.
It'd make SE more money, so why not? It's not exclusive to any platform.
I knew he likes to play PC games (and I remember him praising BF3 for PC on Twitter) but that's the first time I'm hearing something like this.Does anybody remember when Kojima said he'd like to develop exclusively for the PC?
The Last Remnant 2 will reignite SE's PC ambitions...right? =(
How much more money? How much does it cost to create a PC version? Would they be getting any new sales that they wouldn't be getting otherwise on ps4/xb1?

All that means is that they're thinking ahead to an UHD port of the game in 2020 on the PS5.I'm virtually sure of it.
Beside, both companies (Konami and Square Enix) at some point even hinted about the possibility.
EDIT- Here's the quote from Square, for instance:
they need to release FF9 before they even think about ff15. lol.
If FFVII & FFVIII have done well enough, that could encourage them to look more into PC development, like with some other Japanese (and non-Japanese) developers.FFVII and FFVIII were already on PC. When FFIX shows up on Steam, that will mean something.
People keep forgetting the Square Enix is actually pretty invested in PC, and that the Final Fantasy games sell decently well on the platform as proven by the classic releases and FF14, and that FF15 is built on an engine that runs games natively on Windows, and that Square Enix has already expressed interest in bringing the game to the PC, and that on a game of this budget it would be wise to bring it to as many platforms as possible. But FF13 didn't make it to the platform so all that is moot.
A port from PS4 to PC shouldn't cost an amount that'd make it unfeasible.
I'm sure there are PC only gamers out there who would be interested to jump into the FF series.
I'm pretty sure no one at Square is thinking of a FF9 PC port.
FF IX, X, X-2, XII, XIII-2 and Female Cloud Returns didn't get/aren't getting PC ports either. So out of the post-VI main series games, only VII, VIII, XI and XIV got ports (and the latter two are online MMORPGs anyway, so it would be madness to not port them to PC).
A game on the scale of FF needs more than just a few extra PC only gamers to justify a port. This isn't some indie title.
And I think SE already has enough on their plate just getting the game out on the two announced systems. They already failed to release it on the ps3, despite years of promises. Nothing is easy for these guys, even things that are supposed to be easy.
Personally I don't think FFXV is running on anything at the moment, despite whatever was supposedly said by Nomura at e3.

But we see through the progression of these games that Square Enix becomes more open with the franchise. Going from a Playstation 1 and 2 only, and then with their very expensive to produce FF13 series they opened up to the Xbox platform as well (after also putting FF11 on the 360). This trend continues with FF15 already being confirmed for the Xbox 1. It is perfectly fine to expect another huge release to push Square Enix towards even more platforms. Square Enix certainly would not be shooting themselves in the foot with a PC release.
well they should be. the game is beautiful as it is, it would benefit from a higher res. (And an option to speed up the battle intros)
I'm not arguing whether it would look better or benefit from being released on PC. Just that there is no PC version and I don't think the current Square would take the time and energy to create one after the minimal energy they put into updating 7 and 8.
With them stating that they are developing the game at a higher fidelity than what current consoles can handle makes me think they they are running that version on a platform that can handle it. PC. There's a good chance.
