I stated the reasons I disliked Home Movies earlier, so that still remains.

Hey Arnold was a great show, I used to watch it all the time. The regular kid that hangs out with other kids that are not so regular. You have a rich girl, a girl obsessed with the main character, a boy who eats too much chocolate, a boy who has a ton of bad luck, etc. All of those personalities put into one show and pulled off successfully, you gotta like that.
 
Home Movies shuts down its camera and Sonic speeds away!
Sonic the Hedgehog moves away from GAF Island with 21 kills and 5 saves while Home Movies was tied with TaleSpin until someone came at the last moment and killed it off with 19 kills and 10 saves.

A shame about Home Movies, but I'm glad it lasted this long.

With Animaniacs on here, there's really no logical reason to keep Pinky and the Brain. It's a really sensible cut and should go now before we go any further.

I stand by Ren and Stimpy being a cartoon that was done for the sake of animation with some hysterical jokes. It's one of the few shows on this list that doesn't feel like it was made to sell action figures or depict normal people.

Ren being an insecure ass killed me as a kid and some of the jokes are Looney Tunes level in terms of timelessness.

Well, Home Movies wasn't going to make it to top 10 so I guess I'm not that surprised. Should have been TaleSpin but at least Sonic is gone.
 
Kill: Talespin- How the hell did Baloo go from Jungle Book to this? You know what was a way better Disney action-adventure cartoon from the same era? Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers.
Kill: Talespin- Yeah this is the same as the last two rounds.
Save: South Park- Personally I think that even 90s South Park was always far funnier than both Beavis and Butthead or Ren and Stimpy.

ren & stimpy was mostly trash, even in the john k years. pinky and the brain wasn't that bad from what i recall.

While it did give birth to a number of iconic episodes, I feel that South Park as a whole simply tries way too hard.

I think Hey Arnold was and still is a really great show. Memorable characters that were fleshed out as time went on, great music and relatable themes. The type of humor it was going for was very different than something like, say, the Regular Show and imo it worked perfectly for the show.



ON Ren & Stimpy: I recently went back to this show and I have to agree that it really wasn't that great. This is another show that tries way too fucking hard. However, it was pretty damn unique at the time and it got away with showing a ton of gross and questionable content on a network for kids.

I would love to kill off TMNT right now but it seems like it is still too early for that.
 
that's another thing. arnold is really subdued for a kid's show. there's a crazy grandma and some wacky characters too, but a lot of humor comes from things not working out or the grandpa kinda being an asshole.

oh and jim lang's music is wonderful. wonderful.

Said it before, R&S's humor never clicked with me. It had its moments but not enough for me.

Voting for Arnold partly because it's R&S vs. Arnold a bit, and Arnold could be pretty mature and poignant for a nicktoon.

What the fuck is up with the hatred for Talespin? Did I miss something? I know there's no way it's going to make it to the final round, but why are people calling for its death so soon when crap like Ren and Stimpy still festers about?

As I've said many times in this thread, Ren and Stimpy is literally disgusting, vile garbage that needs to be put out of its misery.

As far as Talespin goes, yes the plot is vastly different from the movie it was based on (I really would have loved to be in that pitch meeting that day), but what it did, it did pretty damn well. A show taking place in the 1930s with dog fights and shit? That's awesome! Not to mention the fully orchestrated soundtrack was fantastic.


Oh and by the way, fuck you guys for killing Swat Kats. It was NOT a TMNT rip off, damn it!

I was fine with Tale Spin but it's getting down to a point where this gets hard. I'd rather get rid of something I was meh on over anything else. I think after Tale Spin goes there's nothing really I want to vote out. This is about to get real hard. It hurts me to kill Pinky in the brain but my pick is somewhat political as it doesn't have much save support and I'd rather it go than Ren and Stimpy. Plus I'm fine with it going as long as Anamaniacs is still in the running.

Good material, but we don't need it and Animaniacs, too as there's significant overlap. People trying to kill Ren and Stimpy should reconsider.

Hey Arnold shouldn't be in consideration for kills yet with some of the shows we have remaining. I can't imagine cutting it yet.

The show may not be as thought-out as it is nowadays, but I still thought it was funny as hell in the 90s.

I know I'm not playing politics with my kills, but whatever. I'm just going to continue voting for the shows I dislike the most out of the bunch left.

As for Ren and Stimpy, I loved the strangeness of the show, plus Billy West is a god.

I'm fine with R&S going, but I'm not fine with HA going. I'd sooner see Talespin and Pinky & the Brain go, of course, but if people want Stimpy gone, they want him gone.
