N64 sounds would be cool.
I'd like to be able to choose which sounds you want.
I'm still disappointed in Brawl not having the "Clang" sound when your attacks connect.

pikachu is probably one of those few character redesigns where I can barely tell what they even changed beyond making him slightly slimmer and taller and hence can't see why people want him desperately changed back to his apparently superior 'slightly shorter/fatter' designHe's gonna reveal n64 alt costumes. Fat pikachu returns.

The only fat pikachu I approve of is the one art from the first Pokemon card set back in the day.pikachu is probably one of those few character redesigns where I can barely tell what they even changed beyond making him slightly slimmer and taller and hence can't see why people want him desperately changed back to his apparently superior 'slightly shorter/fatter' design
oh no my childhood
Sentimental Value. I think it would be pretty crazy to see all the new characters with 64esk models.

i prefer fat pikachu over skinny pikachu better simply because skinny pikachu just looks plain weird to me
OH NO WAIT I MEAN OH MY CHILDHOOD HUR HUR HUR christ i fucking hate when people dismiss other's taste with this "MY CHILDHOOD" bullshit
Woah, I totally forgot about the clang sound. That was satisfying.
Oh man, yeees. That true metallic sound to that was great. Made it feel much more effective.
Pikachu gonna be sentimental shitty model or not, and pokemans probably gonna want their guys as pretty as can be.
Also again " shitty models" eh... just give me an actual alternate costume please. Shitty model alternate has never been my thing.
Like.. mario shunshine mario
or soccer peach
or racing rosalin
or Different captain falcon outfits
Or different samus suits
or pokemon with different accessories you can find in game, or weird grooming related stuff.
I dunno anything other than hey , shitty re purposed model.
He is supposed to be pretty fast i guess, i guess they wanted the design to reflect that.
Just bring back the down special voice from 64 and it's all cool. But he's so disgustingly adorable!

I just seriously can't make out the difference between the two designs beyond that one difference. It's the series I follow the least out of Smash, but even characters like Mario Nintendo hesitates to mix up seem to go through more significant changes over the years than Pikachu.i prefer fat pikachu over skinny pikachu better simply because skinny pikachu just looks plain weird to me

It's one of the few times where I can't even see how you could have a definite preference for something which to me looks nearly identical to me.
It's just the most unenthusiastic "piga" ever and I love it ever so much.Peegaaaaa
PEEGAAAAAAA!
Please do it
you can't tell me what to do, mooomeveryone sees everything different
just accept it
look at it this way; we'll finally have confirmation he has the ability to jumpIt's just the most unenthusiastic "piga" ever and I love it ever so much.
I hope we get nothing but a picture of Dedede's jump coming up in a few hours.

64 had such satisfying hit sounds. The click when you shield is great too.

qq just has amazingly good Pokemon taste in general.
In terms of sprites I remember nearly everybody looking really 'off' in Red/Blue (not to mention Green) in comparison to how they looked in the concept art and by Yellow he looks exactly the same to how I'm seeing him in most examples of his 'thin' design. It's easier to tell if you look at the sprites, or older artwork. He used to be a chubby, charismatic little thing. Gen 3 slimmed and stretched him out a bit, gave the limbs more definition, and made the ears less spiky, all to reflect how the anime changed the design over time to be more emotive. The result's more mouselike than the original pillow shape.

Bow before your master!!
#teamChrom
If Chrom isn't in, I would be surprised.
As was mentioned, Fire Emblem: Awakening was the game that saved the franchise.
I would eat a chocolate hat if there wasn't at least one rep from it, and Chrom would be the obvious choice....or Tharja if Sakurai is cool enough.
I would also love to see "Marth" be a costume change for Marth, because Awakening's "Marth" was awesome.
Apparently everyone despised Marth's new clothes design.

The regular art's easier to tell the difference with, but even then by the western release of the first game the concept art looks like the 'current' design with a slightly less defined neck. Only blatantly odd one out I can see is a piece of art that's apparently from the trading cards.
But it was the greatest thing ever.
I'm talking about his Awakening design.
Unless you meant that, then my bad.
I'm talking about fake "Marth" from awakening, not ghost Marth.
But it was the greatest thing ever.

One thing I always wonder with these matches; why do some players just sort of run or wave-dash in place for a couple seconds while their opponent is away from them? Is it just to keep their hands from resting or is there some sort of actual meta mindgame going on there?after this just happened

sakurai ain't waiting for that 3ds game we are getting yoshi TONIGHT

So for whatever reason I was thinking of Pokemon newcomers and who we might see. A lot of people are thinking Mewtwo is a given, but he is kind of a veteran? I feel like X/Y doesn't have any real standouts minus the starters, and I'm not sure if they'd add another Pokemon Trainer. So then I decided to look through the list of Mega Pokemon and I feel like Blaziken or Gardevoir could show up to represent both Ruby/Sapphire and X/Y. Beyond people suggesting new Final Smashes involving the Mega Evolutions I feel like there hasn't been a lot of talk about Pokemon newcomers though.
