And Reboot too!!!???

kill: darkwing duck
kill: darkwing duck
save: hey arnold

at this point i'm getting rid of redundancies. dbz was a big part of the 90s in making anime a thing in america so i'm voting it stays.

Kill: Darkwing Duck- As I've said, I just think it's bland and not deserving of a place so lofty in comparison to stuff like Daria.
Kill: Darkwing Duck
Save: Superman- Supes is way better than Tiny Toons and Darkwing Duck. And probably a show or two left on the list.

Finally, Reboot has been defeated! Took almost a third of all the kill votes last round too.

Kill: Superman - Okay show, shitty super hero.
Kill: Superman
Save: Dragon Ball Z - I didn't watch this in the 90s but I think it has a better shot here than in the aughts.

I think I'm done, so I'll come clean.

I joined the thread in round 20. I saw TMNT was going to lose, and made an effort to get a few people together and kill off Jonny Bravo instead.

Round 21, I didn't participate much. TMNT was pretty dead, so I got a few more to kill Beavis and Butt-head to save Darkwing and couple other in danger.

Round 22 was a masterpiece. I played so many people against each other and prematurely killed X-Men. Tick is in danger, kill X-Men! X-Men is in danger, kill Tick! Reboot already has enough votes to take the first elimination spot, vote for X-Men instead or your favorite show will die in the 2nd elimination spot! And so on. Reboot should have died this round.

Round 23. More of the above. I'm directly responsible for killing Spongebob and South Park prematurely. Before I started PMing a couple dozen people with manipulative "helpful" information, their votes were low. Reboot would'be definitely been eliminated. No doubt. Other show may have been one of the duck shows.

Round 24. I took a misstep. I decided to target Hey Arnold due to Anihawk not being responsive to my past "suggestions." I gave up because few were willing in THIS ROUND* and once again pitted the distant 2nd, 3rd and 4th place shows and then making sure Reboot slipped to 3rd when the clear two future losers were obvious: Doug and DuckTales. *Prematurely targeting Hey Arnold didn't work but a bunch of people ended up voting for it in the next one.

Round 25. I waited for the first few "losers" to appear, DBZ and Courage, and did the usual: PM a few dozen people to fight each other. the Reboot kill force was in... Full force, so I found the latest Reboot thread and PM'd like 20 people in the hopes enough would come through. But you guys made a nice effort to rally behind DBZ, and sacrificing Courage to finally kill Reboot. Oh well.

The funny thing is that I haven't really watched much of Reboot. I'm not a fan. I just wanted to fuck around the voting, because back in round 20 I complained that voting could be manipulated and secret ballot was better. This was fun! I'll go back to voting normally now!

Kill Darkwing Duck
Kill Darkwing Duck
Save Superman: The Animated Series

Darkwing, while not the worst show or anything, doesn't feel top ten to me, based on what's left. I say let it go now without much mud slinging.

Jado: you're absolutely not the only person to do the PM/alliance angle, heh.

Kill: Superman - Just its time to go really
Kill: Tiny Toons - Same
Save: Darkwing Duck - Slightly better than those two shows for me

Kill: The Powerpuff Girls - The characters are likable but I never like the visual style of the show.
Kill: Dragon Ball Z - Never really cared for anime.
Save: Rocko's Modern Life.

Surprisingly I haven't been targeted yet with PMs.
Weird.

Seriously though,
I'm just happy that Spongebob got at least a top 20 spot.

I did thing with KalBalboa and Skid 4 Dead in the early rounds and Jado tried to effect my vote last round. But haven't seen any other PM campaigns so far.

Scorched Earth time.

Kill: Superman: TAS - George Newbern>>>>>Tim Daly
Kill: Superman: TAS - Clancy Brown did his best work on Justice League anyhow.
Save: Rugrats - Random save. I actually don't like this show.

Speaking of Top 10 voting, Before we get there, is everyone OK with the single vote to kill or does anyone want 1 save per vote?
I'm also open to other suggestions too.

For those doubting Superman: The Animated series, I'd encourage you to go watch some of that show and then consider it against things like Tiny Toons and Darkwing Duck. There's a real reason it got so many saves before, namely the strong writing, the fact it had ongoing continuity and a plot arc that built to a fantastic finale, and some great villains.

Superman was made more defeatable for the show, and the animation was great. The three-part cross-over episode "World's Finest" is legendary when it comes to superhero cartoons, and the Bizarro, Metallo, Lobo, and Mxyzptlk episodes are dynamite. Even B-list villains like the Parasite had some unbelievably creative writing and action sequences, and Superman was put in a position where kryptonite was almost never brought into the equation (I think you can count its use across the entirety of the show on one hand).

The two-part finale with Darkseid “Legacy” is strong in how it illustrates a defeated hero- showing Superman lose his place in the public as society grows to fear and resent him. Everything from episode one and onward built to it- there were virtually no filler episodes. The show actually built to a series finale, unlike almost any other show remaining.

“The Late Mr. Kent” is one of the best DCAU episodes ever produced, top 3 easily.

It's not as good as Batman: The Animated series, overall (to me), but it's such a damn strong show that it shouldn't go before a few others that remain. I think Superman should be #10, and after that even I'd say he should go.

In light of recent developments, would a "minimum previous votes to vote in the top 10" rule be absurd?

I'd rather we keep it open to draw in more people.

I can't really track that.

I;d be up for the double kill with one show per kill idea though.

That or just one kill per vote would work fine. I'm not really sure about keeping saves in the top ten.

I'll probably change my save depending on the round's proceedings. Superman TAS is definitely deserving of top ten status.

Here goes nothing:
Key emphasis on the word. World's Finest was the only good thing outside of great voice actor casting to come from Superman TAS. It's a top 20 show, but not anything closer, with Game of Thrones politics and classic misdirection having kept it alive this far. Batman shits on it from a great height, and that's only with Feat of Clay Parts 1&2.

Again, I love Batman TAS and think it's the better show, so I'm not pitting them against each other. Episodes like The Late Mr. Kent, Legacy, The Way of All Flesh, etc, all measure up tremendously, though. They're far from shit.

Except for Reboot (
Should've been Spongebob or Courage but I digress
), I'd say so.

So all three of those are in for the 2000s thread right?

Reboot only had the 2 movies so I'm not too sure about that.

Courage and Spongebob Absolutely.

Fair enough.

What about one save for the entire top ten round, excluding top 3?
That could be interesting?
Just throwing ideas out there.

That might work.

Jado: you're absolutely not the only person to do the PM/alliance angle, heh.

This whole post is why I told people not to listen to anyone giving them secret advice about how to vote.

I didn't form any alliances. Telling people to vote for this and that without reason doesn't go far.

I just kinda lied and gave people sometimes fudged or limited tallies that showed what I wanted them to see, "helpful" information and vote suggestions that supported whatever show they liked while simultaneously diverting attention away from Reboot or whatever. Hey, Your Fave Show is racking up votes; I suggest double kill voting Spongebob and save this or else blahblah will happen. Don't waste your kill/save on X; it's already dead OR it's not a factor this round -- suggest kill/save this instead. It worked a lot. People thanked me for being helpful to their cause (then later cried foul when their show died). Hah.

now what have we learned.

Not to get ahead of myself and full-on force a show to die prematurely without an initial small group of voters. If Reboot was already dead, this last round could've naturally been a contest between Tiny Toons and Rugrats. I briefly contemplated bribing people to kill Simpsons soon just for laughs.

Kill: DBZ - Show is 88.3% Filler, waiting for that damn spirit bomb to get ready
Kill: DBZ

Save: Superman TAS - Dan Effin Turpin, beeches.
