It turns out that my brother's motherboard failed a week ago for some reason.
He had an Asus Rampage IV Extreme and 3820 combo (that's LGA 2011). He has returned it to the shop but since they don't sell this specific motherboard anymore they offered him credit the value of the mobo (around 400€

to buy whatever he wants from there. I suggest him to abandon LGA 2011 altogether, sell the 3820 and switch to Haswell 4770K but he's so stubborn and insists that LGA 2011 is better and more future-proof.
So what would you guys do in his position?
