Kingdom Come - Realistic open-world Medieval RPG [Kickstarter]

I want to support this, but I also want to be in the alpha tier, and $50USD is a little steep for the unknown that is Kickstarter. I guess I'll do the cheapest tier that gets me into the beta and try to convince myself closer to the end.

Quite a few games have done this and I think it's a good idea. Some people still can't wrap their head around what exactly an alpha/early access build is.

Looks like it'll clear 50% soon. Crazy! Can't imagine how much faster this would be going if they had PayPal.

Good luck to them for not doing a fantasy angle. I think it will have to try extra hard to be captivating. The combat looks like it could be very visceral, which would be a nice innovation for the genre.

watch the "Dungeons and No Dragon" motto cease to be true three weeks from release.
Three weeks? I think you'll have "hey I put a dragon in the game!" mods in 3 days ;)

This could be an amazing open world RPG fix before Elder Scrolls VI.
I'd hope for it to be much better than Elder Scrolls, considering how well they have identified many of the issue which plague that series since Oblivion.

Watch naked anime looking hookers to be available in first week :P

Different games for me. Elder Scrolls series is all about exploration and character progression, also alchemy, crafting and magic for me and this game wont have any of that to the same degree.

This looks like the game I dreamed I was playing when I played Mount and Blade (not that I have anything against M&B, I mean I put close to 70 hours into warband). I want to play this right now.

Well, delivering on it is a different matter entirely.

If it turns out better than ES, even better for me then.

Damn this is some impressive stuff. Really really good visuals and the entire scope of everything? Also Oculus Rift support! I'm sold, it's a day one purchase for me.

Would be interesting if you could be a female. You'd have to hide your feminine features from everyone, cut your hair, wrap your chest etc. If you are caught then you are dragged across mud and burned at the stake. It could be a entire class in it's own right considering the handicaps.
Haha yeah that's a great idea. Playing a female should be an option, but it'd basically be "hard mode". I'd love this.

Too bad that for such a deep RPG, there is apparently no character creator in general. And that the combat is first-person. :( I hate first-person melee so much, wish it were third person. Buuuut it does seem to fully support controllers, and be designed with controllers in mind (saw Xbox controller prompts in the video), so maybe it won't be clunky like Chivalry. Really tempted to back this, I love the overall concept. Normally I hate sandbox game, but the way they describe it it's not really that "sandboxy" (with vast stretches of nothing and pointless side quests and mini-games), each side quest being meaningful and consequential really appeals to me.

^This. Love M&B, but it's a concept that screams 'higher production values' which of course is not something the grognards at Paradox are ever going to get behind, even though doing so would dramatically grow their audience.

How the enemies visibly watch what is happening to each other. That's great, you don't even see that happening in most FPS games.

Jesus fuck this looks amazing! I honestly hadn't even heard of it before! This is getting some love come payday at the end of next week. Only Act I for now but fuck it, if it helps show their investor it's worth funding the whole lot I'll buy them later, no worries. My FPS melee senses are going into overload.

that's just an excuse to implement Assassin's Creed AI... peripheral vision is all you need, these two blokes can't even fight in unison let alone keep a descent grip on their own blade as they put their lives on the line.

This is my first time to back a project on kickstarter. What can I say... i'm TOTALLY SOLD!
I've always wanted to experience first person horse back-riding while playing RDD. The era is stunning, potentially rich story, RPG elements and man the sword forging....

I backed with the Earl (Collector's edition)

They're still games at the end of the day, so getting bum rushed isn't really going to be on the cards, and you're still a 'hero' but I appreciate the attention to detail in terms of place is all.

Yep, although different this is what Mount and Blade should have become at the end. Paradox should have fully backed those guys and gotten tons of money in return.

As frugal as I am, I am seriously considering the pope tier so I can help support these guys. I'd love to meet them and thank them from going against the grain of what's normal and boring.

Well production values are the obvious, but, I was more referring to the gameplay. As in the two game have a lot of similar concepts (Need to eat + food going bad, intricate melee combat where weapon movement matters, quests, etc.) but every single thing looks like it's been expanded on or has more depth. Obviously we don't have the game yet so we can't really say with certainty, but, just the idea of targeting specific body parts of the enemy with your sword and them reacting differently to each seems like a natural evolution of how M&B works.

Looks awesome, I hope it delivers.

Certainly. What I said was quite cynical, but in reality I'm really looking forward to this. And I know it won't be nearly as bad as AC A.I. which literally just has everyone go idle bar 1 actor.

As long as enemies aren't prioritizing their people watching, I think having them employ some sort of awareness is something that is greatly lacking in games. I don't know how far they want to take it, but it seems neat enough. Especially if it still takes considerable skill to engage the lollygaggers.

I've never heard Chivalry described as clunky. Game is quite fluid and responsive to your inputs.

Maybe its the controller use or not grasping the basic concept.

Backed Baron Special Tier for X1

Everyone should buy the baron special tier IMO

you get physical AND digital copy of your platform choice

meaning, you can use the digital copy and sell your physical and practically get your money back :P

Chivalry was made for mouse/kb, so it's awful with a controller, honestly. Since I personally hate playing with mouse/kb I'd really like better combat with a controller in this case.

Backed it, this looks incredible. I love everything I see and hear, great to see such an ambitious RPG from people who get it.

The first Mafia is one of my favorite games and I have a lot of faith in Daniel Vavra and his team to deliver on most of their ambition.

This looks and sounds amazing. The kickstarter video is great and makes me want to fund. But I will still stand by my policy of not funding anything on kickstarter. I am sure that will make some angry lol.

Already close to 200k and I am expecting to see more support in the following and very last days of the campaign. I believe 500k+ could very well happen, and honestly, this game deserves it.

As news spreads about this project via more mainstream media outlets, the final tally may realistically exceed £1.5 million (the same amount they have secured from their private investor so far).

I don't know why more games don't have lots of beautiful green grass. This looks so beautiful to me. Its not the most stunning game technically but it looks very fun to explore. Hopefully the world is full of things to do and not just to walk all over the place.

Yeah I'll end up backing this at the end of the month here. As long as I can just say fuck the main quest and grief NPCs by hiding in bushes and robbing them on roadsides.
