new page reminder:
Each round, you've got 2 kills. Each of those kills needs to be on a different show. At any point in the next 7 rounds leading up to the top 3, you can use your 1 and only save. Only people that have voted before in this thread get that 1 save to use. At the end of each round, the top (or bottom, depending on how you look at it) show will be eliminated.

Kill: Rocko's Modern Life
Kill: Powerpuff Girls

Rocko's was just... bizarre. PPG was good but someone has to take the fall.

Kill: Batman Beyond
Kill: Hey Arnold

AniHawk's defence of Hey Arnold convinced me to stop voting to kill it, but now that we're in top 10, all bets are off.

Kill: Animaniacs
Kill: DBZ

Animaniacs -- wasn't a big fan. DBZ isn't even top-level anime in Japan, and the US dub made it even worse. In its 90s butchered format, it's the one show that easily shouldn't even be in the top 20 regardless of whatever else you loved and hated in that decade.

Right now the DBZ and Batman Beyond votes are being split and neither probably have a chance of catching Rugrats.

If anyone would want one of these two to go over Rugrats some people are going to need convincing to change their votes.

Just throwing that out there.

Kill: Dexter's Lab
Kill: Batman Beyond

Dexter's Lab seems like it's getting a little too far on this list, now that I watch some of it and compare it to the likes of Hey Arnold, etc. Batman Beyond, like others here have said, is cool, but not as good, overall, as the other DCAU shows.

Kill: Batman Beyond
Kill: DBZ

Batman Beyond is a good show, but not really that good to have made it this far. DBZ started started hitting its peak in popularity in the early 2000s, so it doesn't really feel like a 90s show.

Ahh man. You can't take a break from this thread at all. I enjoy my snow days and when I come back BAM, my Gargoyles got voted off. Meanwhile a lot of other crappy cartoons still live. I have lost faith.

Kill: Dexter's Lab
Kill: Hey Arnold

Save: Batman Beyond

Kill: Dexter's Lab
Kill: Hey Arnold

Save: ReBoot

Reboot is long long gone and you only get ONE save from now till top 3, just a heads up

It was a real close vote. You literally could have made the difference! (So long as you were cool with DBZ going down) oops, nevermind, the point spread was 4. Not to mention DBZ would have been winning any ties.

Also, remember, you only have one save to use over the next 7 votes. Batman TAS isn't going anywhere today, so that save is appreciated, but unnecessary.

Thanks, I am so sad looking at that top ten. DBZ and Hey Arnold, really? I was too late to save all the good shows.

What they mean is that you only get ONE save to use in ONE round from now until the end of the competition. Batman: TAS is in no danger of going this round. Hold on to your one save until much later.

Ahhh, so sad. I mean Rocko beat out Ren and Stimpy, Animaniacs beat out Ducktales, Darkwing Duck and Tiny Toons?! And Hey Arnold, DBZ beat out Gargoyles, Superman and X-men?!

I mean it was a slaughter....I can't relate to you people. How can you guys sleep at night?

I should have been there to save them.... : (

jk...kinda

Everyone who really wants to kill DBZ over anything else: Change your votes to something else besides Rugrats.

Too many people are voting for these two shows together and it's obvious which one will go. Alternative second votes: Batman Beyond, Animaniacs, Dexter, Rocko, Powerpuff. Heck, throw a vote at Simpsons and Batman: TAS -- they're not going anywhere.

Just mix up the voting!

I feel ya man, I really do. I'm still on a crusade to help Rocko as much as I can though, I love that damn cartoon

I mean C'mon

I really hope Absolution has figured out how he's going to keep track of who has saves, and who's used their saves.

(I'm thinking a google doc with every eligible name on it, and he can tick them off as he counts votes where they've used their save?)

Nobody is going to take your word for it. You are now the boy who cried wolf.

It's an interesting contest we have going on here.

It's not a vote for our most beloved shows.
It's a vote for our least disliked shows.

Highly divisive shows attract kills, and get the boot. Shows that are generally liked, but inspire no passion, slip up the rankings, only getting voted off when they are noticed to be of decidedly lower quality.

If we had a system where we voted for shows, and the one with the least votes was dropped, we'd see a drastically different ordering.

Pretty much the only way to do it. It's probably the reason for the restriction in the first place.

Pretty much. DBZ would have died ages ago, like it should have.

Kill: DBZ
Kill: Hey Arnold! (cause all I know is Football head, and that sounds like trademark infringement)

I thought about this early on, how we were predicating our choices on negativity with the kills, etc. Contention bred kills, like with Ren and Stimpy, and quieter shows stayed on unless someone pointed them out (like Weekenders).

Kill: DBZ
Kill: Batman Beyond

You americans have a terrible taste for liking something so badly dubbed and censored.
And I thought TAS was better than beyond by the longest mile.

I don't know if DBZ is in the running today. Without counting, Rugrats seems to be taking a beating, and Batman Beyond is probably runner up.

Crying wolf has a very specific meaning, which I don't think applies to what I did. :)

In any case, I've been negative on 90s, US, Ocean dub Dragon Ball Z BEFORE any of my shenanigans. It's a travesty we're killing off complete American shows before that stunted mess. This coming from someone who is a huge fan of DB and non-butchered DBZ.

My remark also wasn't to save Rugrats -- I don't care if it goes soon. Just think DBZ should have dropped out long ago. It's like someone said -- if we had been voting for what we liked, DBZ would have dropped off before the Top 20.

From what I can tell DBZ and Batman Beyond are actually pretty close. If either of them switched their votes for the other(provided they didn't vote for both) they'd probably go over Rugrats.

Kill: Rugrats
Kill: Batman Beyond

I watched both of those shows and enjoyed them. I am voting them off now because I don't want them to win.

The system make up for some very entertaining political intrigue/backstabbing and very passionate posts though. :)

!

Good luck with that.
You have bad taste.
Let me reiterate: I have nothing against TAS, I just didn't watch it as a kid. I went from TMNT/X-Men/Power Rangers -> Disney -> Nickelodeon and occasionally WB/ABC Saturday morning.

I will watch more of it, but it's the show I've watched the least left in the top 10, especially in the 90s.
I watched both of those shows and enjoyed them. I am voting them off now because I don't want them to win.
I believe at this point there are only two top runners to win. Everything else is being voted to determine top 5 and 3. I really can't say what the third choice will be.

I feel like anyone voting to kill Batman TAS or The Simpsons at this stage is doing it for the sake of chaos rather than trying to make a pick based on what they think was best or should be nixed next.

Oh well.
