The most ridiculous part is the 3rd highest grossing film ever had these guys in it -
People. Don't. Care. I can understand in 2001 or whatever where people were worried about being too out there, but this is post-Avengers. Go bright yellow for gods sakes.
Yeah, Marvel Studios realized that the coolest costumes for these characters is their actual costume. The other studios should follow that idea. Though the new Spider Man costume is pretty damn perfect too. Good for them for coming to the realization that Spider Man doesn't have yellow eyes.
How about we settle on an antagonist?
McKellan's take on the character is certainly iconic at this point, and I would honestly say that his Magneto will be fond longer than his take on Gandalf in the Middle-earth films.

Yes, because that mask is fucking ugly, and would be even more-so when translated to a real setting. This movie has enough ugly as is.
He's more of a smart charmer in the role, I agree. Buff Evil Magneto is something we are not ready for.

This movie is going to be such a mess. Fucking suits saw the success of Avengers and are trying to cram way too many people into one film. I wish every other studio would knock this shit off and let Marvel studios do their thing so the movie going audience won't get fatigue. They are going to ruin it for all of us.

This. X-Men costumes are a bit tougher to translate to film than Avengers imo but I think they can definitely do a better job than they've been doing so far.
I'd love a reset too, but we got this for at least another 2 years so might as well look for the good parts in it.
This movie looks like a clusterfuck, tho.
We have to take tone into account as well. The Avengers stuff had no problems because they don't take themselves too seriously. They are very cheesy. The X-Men movies always tried to be a bit more serious than that, and a storyline like DoFP is likely to be brooding and shit.
But yes, I'd like to see that take from someone new, preferably someone who isn't ashamed of comic book characters and how they look.
