Bright blue and yellow are going to inspire fear? Why does he need to inspire fear? He's not Batman. To make him look feral and inspire fear.
Comic reason.
Take the human factor away and makes you think you going to die.
That is why.
Rogue wears green because she likes the color.
To make him look feral and inspire fear.
He's producing and came up with the story along with another First Class writer.thought he was involved in some capacity? Im guessing that other Sentinel is the future one, i saw it and though Nimrod but whatevs finally sentinels.
Or Glacius from the new KIFuture Sentinel looks like an angel from Evangelion

Rogue's costume would be doable though. No argument there.
So he's wearing the mask because he's the group's killer. Except he doesn't have a secret identity to protect and it doesn't protect his associates because everyone knows he works with them? Also it inspires fear and let's everyone know who he is even though he's a killer and wears the mask to protect his identity?Cause Logan was a weapon and was known as the X-Men's killer.
The mask inspired fear and let people know who they were dealing with.
You know, all of Logan's schtick to begin with?

And all of this has what to do with the movies? What about the blue and yellow? Does movie Wolverine seem like the kind of guy to wear a mask to inspire fear in to battle?

Photoshopped Rogue to green.
Exactly. Dude already inspires fear by being a jacked, grizzled, unkillable, manly man, prone to berserker fits that has freaking blades that jut out of his fists. A mask that he consciously puts on takes it to a weird level that starts to make him seem like crazy person (In the real world).it wouldn't make sense to introduce the mask as late as even the last wolverine movie. if people want the costume they're gonna have to wait for a reboot.
it would be weird if he just decided to hide his face all of a sudden. inspire fear? his claws do fine enough.

Bachalo is the definitive X-Men artist imoI still like Bachalos Xmen drawings the best ( he was the artist on the Generation Next AoA series too):
How does this say 'X-Men' to anyone? It doesn't even tell you anything about each of the people wearing them. They could change their clothes around with each other and it would still be the same thing.

Mutants are NOT costumed superheroes.
Why does Blink look awesome, but Quicksilver look like an absolute joke? How can there be this big a discrepancy in the same movie?
What? There are indeed superhero mutants, and there are also just regular mutants living in cities and shit.
And there are a few sewer mutants, but those belong on the animated series and Futurama only![]()

these costumes stink.

Mutants are NOT costumed superheroes.
Mutants are regular people who happen to have powers.
They clothes are similar enoght to know that they are on the same side and what diferentiates then are their FACES, since they are people =P
The whole point is that the X-men have costumes in order to hide their identities. It's ridiculous for them to not have something concealing their faces. They have great reasons for doing it, something the movie has ignored. They're mutants. They're feared and hated which is why they have a school protecting them.
yeah, look at the four original X-Men:

not a single face is in plain sight. this is something that was lost when they added new members + redesigned them though.

Exactly. Almost all of them have something that hides their identity.
Iceman covers his whole body in ice, Wolverine has the mask as does Cyclops, Colossus goes full steel body, Gambit has the partial mask + red/black eyes, etc.
You're starting to mix up eras though. They haven't really bothered hiding identities for a LONG time. Mainly just the school for obvious reasons. For example, the Jim Lee era which is basically the definitive modern era X-Men prior to the movies thanks to the cartoon:
Not a lot of masks going on there (and no, I don't think covering the side of your face ala Gambit counts as a mask).
Now all this said, I'm not saying a reboot of X-Men couldn't use something closer to the original costumes, I'm just saying it has to be a reboot and given context because they don't and will never really make much sense in Singer-verse X-Men. You can't just throw them out there with the uniforms, they need to be explained and given a reason. All the MCU films have done this really well and get that.
Oh please, it can easily work in Singers universe. Why have a school to hide mutants if you're not trying to hide your mutant identity? Singer has screwed up in many ways but it's still very possible to introduce masks and costumes.
And yes Gambit still has a cover. His partial mask and eye's changing make him harder to recognize even if it's not a big thing. Him in normal clothes without all that looks different.
And it's not even a matter of era's. I'm bringing up that they had a reason to wear their costumes and the movies could easily use it.
