NFL Super Bowl XLVIII |OT| Best OP In The Game

The spectacle really does get worse every year. The network it's on is basically trying to whore out whatever shows they have, a bunch of d-listers showing up trying to remind people they exist, this weird generational mix of trying to appeal to everyone whose watching. I could go on.

My hopes for the game:

1. Sherman gets picked apart by Thomas through the first two quarters and then his ACL explodes in a non-contact injury while dancing to Bruno Mars at halftime so that he's on Crab's level next year when they meet again.
2. Peyton throws a TAINT in the 2nd half to one of the other PED addicts at some point.
3. Seahawks win a close game with Wussle becoming the MVP, thus proving the NFC West is the best at everything this year.
4. Cheatin Pete finally gets busted in the offseason for running an illicit doping scheme for the past two years and is forced to vacate yet another title.
5. The entire 2013-2014 season is asteriked. Wussle & Beast Mode are the only two left standing as the rest of the team is suspended for the entire year.

As a Niners fan. You disgust me. Why would you wish injurying on a great player like Sherman? Everything else is fine but come on wishing that some to get hurt is low life Raiders fan status.

What's our backup plan for when gaf explodes at some crucial moment? The steam group?

MMA-Gaf's IRC.

this is really really weird

I'm all in for Champ.

Been cheering him on for so long. Met him at training camp a few years back and we was incredible with my daughters.

My favorite photo of the week - during their team photo session.

Go Champ and Go Donkeys!

Because the dude was running his mouth non-stop about Crabs after the guy was playing 9 months removed from an ACL injury, which is ridiculously impressive even if it is slightly more common now. He doesn't respect others, I have no respect for him. I want to see them going at it as equals next year and trust karma will take care of the rest.

I was just waiting for the guy reporting from Pike Place to get smacked in the back of the head with a fish lol.

Goodell and the league are getting what they want. A gigantic ad fest, where the game itself is becoming a side show. All just to rack up as money as possible!

lol I thought Crabs tore his achilles

Dude calm down. Take it to the off season topic. People have been banned for less in the OT

This is totally a Red Sox fan would say. Crabs was acting like an ass to him after that play.

Tom Brady is not a champion. If he was in Major League Baseball, he would be barred from the Hall of Fame like "Shoeless" Joe Jackson.
That's funny.

I don't understand why everyone is so eager to wash away the sins of the Patriots. Does it just make it easier to say the games were on the level? Is it about protecting the legacy and integrity of the league?

Tom Brady and the Patriots cheated their way to three Super Bowl Championships in the early 2000s. They used cameras to film their opponent's practices, and knew every defensive signal.
This isn't even original. How many future or current HOF NFL coaches have to state that every team in the league was doing the exact same thing the Patriots were doing? The only thing that separates them is that they were caught the year after the NFL told all the teams to stop doing it. Were they wrong to do it? Yes. But if the Pats don't have a legacy, then that means that no prior Super Bowl winning team does either.
Such a garbage argument.

“We didn’t lose the game because of any Spygate, because of them having any additional things,” Cowher said. “I think if they’re guilty of anything, they’re guilty of arrogance, because they were told not to do something. But it was something that everybody does. The only thing they got caught [was] doing it with a camera. We had people that always tried to steal signals. Stealing someone’s signals was a part of the game, and everybody attempted to do that.

“Part of the things we had [were] wristbands that we were using to do it. It’s not even an element anymore because of the communications that take place on the field to the quarterback, to the linebacker. So it’s an element of the game that doesn’t exist, and really, what happened when we lost that game is they outplayed us, and it has nothing to do with stealing signals, or cheating, or anything else. They were a better football team on that day.”

Those Super Bowls and playoff games were close games. It wasn't just a coincidence that they were able to come back in those games and pull them off. They cheated. They shouldn't be celebrated as the greatest team of our generation. They made a mockery of the game.
Ehm. The two Super Bowls that they lost were equally as close if not more so.
2007 was an unbelievable catch and 2011 was an unfortunate drop that cost them the game.
Hell, the Hail Mary in 2011 was almost deflected into Gronk's hands.

When you introduce poisonous franchises like the Patriots into the league you ruin it for everyone else.
Wow.

They were both going at it and only one kept on. Lets not pretend like Sherman handles losing with grace either (see his comments about the refs costing them the game in SF).

Wouldn't Crabtree getting back to 100% be putting them at equals or is he never going to be the receiver he once was pre-injury?

Yes, but there is no way he was at 100% in the NFCCG. Next year he will be IMO.

lol I thought Crabs tore his achilles

Achilles, ACL, one of those things!

I don't really mind Joe Buck at all *shrug*
get out

Trust karma, wishes harm on another loool

You're talking about Crabtree right? The guy that put his hands in Sherman's face when he congratulated him on a good game (as shown on SoundFX since they were both wired up)?

Pat fans denying their teams past crimes reminds me of Zimmerman and OJs lies when they got away with murder.

When will we get honest Pat fans who will cop to what their degenerate team did?

Yes, the most sincere of congratulations. Dude didn't even say nice catch to his teammate before running over to 'congratulate' him lolol.
