And the new chord progression on Bob Omb Battlefield is so unnecessary, but holy shit, it's amazing (progression starts at 1:04)!



And yeah, it's just a walk up the bass and then back down, but after hearing this song played straight for the last 20 years, it really took me by surprise.

Beautiful. Princess schala is another one etched into my brain. This guy also does fantastic donkey kong country 1 and 2 covers. You should listen to them if you haven't yet.
And there's a youtuber named Lavos with a collection of chrono trigger synthwave mixes, of which I really like the red earth schala remix.

Right?? It's so good! You'd probably also really like The 8-Bit Big Band. Check out what they do in the same section of Bob-Omb, the syncopation is wild.


Also, I can't get over how the MKW composers wrote a full brass section Dolphin Shoals lick, which is also something 8BBB did.

And as a bonus, the solo in Toad Harbor has both the Dolphin Shoals lick and THE Lick. They went full jazz shitpost on this tune and I love it.

The predecessor of shin megami tensei. I've never played these, but boi do they have some bangers lemme tell ya.


Megaman 3 - snake man (neon x remix)


Everything that's megaman is a certified hood classic. I just really like this melody.


Metal gear 2 - frequency 140.85


Just another classified hood certificate.
 
I just love atmosphere in my music. No water, no food, no windows, in my basement, just a PS5 and a copy of Marvel vs. Capcom; first to 100.
