The Legend Of Heroes / Kiseki / Trails Series Megathread

My hope for this year regarding Trails games is that Kai No Kiseki Farewell O Zemuria 2 comes out so I can just get the Korean Version and patch in a English MTL Fan Translation Mod to play the game

NotMyProblemAnymoreCunt NotMyProblemAnymoreCunt when he gets the news that Kai no Kiseki 2 is a late 2027 title.

Bracers really do seem like the bullied group lol. A/S ranks aside.
In Daybreak, everytime they pop up, you, the police or other groups are like "argh bracers here again poking their nose in"
Like in Skies, since its your PoV, your shown in the right and the code of civilians first. In other games like Daybreak, they're portrayed as massive annoying busybodies, which I guess they are.

have the emma and mao one.
also have the rean and alicia one. and Estelle They really need to put out a Llyod..

I'd get all of them, but I can't justify $200 a pop

and they're quite large, I really struggle for space. I managed by doing paypal pay in like 4 so it doesn't feel as heavy. also its hard to get them if you don't pre-order them. after market prices go for like $300-400 sometimes >_< Estelle one is like $500 now lord. Glad I got it when I did on pre-order
The tarriffs fucked me in buying anymore, but used to import from japan on them for like $150-170 each even after the shipping. now its just too silly

This is my issue with collecting this stuff is I have no where to put it. I've thought about buying it and just storing it in my closet until my kids leave the house but I don't know. That's so far away at this point that I don't even want to do it.

Man, those figures are great, pretty on point.

I would totally buy all major Trails and Xenoblade figures if I could, but those prices and the space needed is too much.

I'm satisfied by just buying artbooks usually.

7 days to go until Horizon.

Can't wait to be back with the Calvard cast.

It's crazy to think we won't be behind Japan anymore.

Cold Steel 3: Ash just said TIG OL BITTIES lol I'm dying. I'm very curious what the OG JP translation was for this to be the end result hahahaha.

From the Kiseki database, he says 'big boobs' (でかいパイ) but in a very slang-y/meme-y way, not commonly used in real spoken Japanese apparently (or that's what ChatGPT told me at least).

I think I'm nearing the end of CS3. Sheesh, if someone would have told me this franchise would be dealing with
vampires, the time stuff in Azure
, the occult and a shit ton of giant mechs back when I played the first TitS on the PSP years ago......

i always try to, but forget to read the books you get, i do read some of them, but just start to keep up. like especially for Reverie, there's like an entire novel series practically to read.

Bracers serve the public. Police officers serve the rich.

Since I know them so well now, Trails games are like my chill games. They're also the perfect games to play on the Portal while I'm watching sports or in bed winding down for the night.
Yeah, the portal was also a game-changer for me as far as trails go.

More accurate to say that the police serve the goverment since the rich can also put in requests to the bracer guild. The difference between the bracers and the police is that the bracers follow a code that doesn't change. The police follows orders from the government, and a government can be good or corrupt depending on who's in charge at the time.

Three & Nine, the small novel present in Reverie's title screen, is mandatory reading. A lot of people skip it and then they are confused about some stuff when they play C's route.

It takes 30-60 mins to read anyway, it's not a big time commitment.

EDIT: You can also read it on the Reverie website if you don't want to read it in-game.

Getting back into Trails from Zero

Having Estelle and Joshua as side characters is such a fun treat

Working through platinum-ing every version of every Trails game. Currently finishing up PS5 SKU of CSIV. Should be done when Horizon hits.

I've started doing the same for every game after Reverie. I start on nightmare mode because it just makes the game way more fun that way. Beyond Horizon unfortunately has only like one guide I can find to not miss anything which is surprising. Maybe more will be made once it comes out officially in the US.

Heimdallr leitmotif is so fucking good. Especially the one in the dungeon nearing the end of chapter 4 in CS3. Loved hearing the little nuances it's changed from CS1&2.

Still slogging my way through CS3 - just finished chapter 2 - great to see all the returning characters, and I really understand the flow of the games and how they build tension slowly through the chapter and then culminate with an amazing boss battle. I'm not sure any other game series does this as well (and nothing does the character bonding etc as well as Trails)

things i learned so far in my games

never trust green hairs
red hairs are always the best bros
blonde hairs are the most boring pairing
protect the blue/white hairs

You can change all their hair colors though so that's going to screw things up lol.

lol, random swordwoman divine blade. The fight with her storywise is exactly how I think everyone else would flare against Rean. Though she's more experienced she just has to throw shade on our Rean boy. Guess she's a big fav. cause she's one of the ones picked as a figurine.

So far, Van just seems like another version of Rean with a splash of Llyod. Some background in a martial arts school. mysterious 'tragic' past, special power, sacrifical nature (but nowhere a master at it like Rean) ect.
The group is also an inferior version of the SSS in their dynamics, they're fine, but I feel if either Llyod or Rean was here, they have solved everything already either thru Rean's skills or Llyod's detective skills.

damn Dingo....your a real one.

Can't hate this type of autism. This is fantastic and hope you're enjoying yourself mate! I got a few Trails platinums myself, but not every version. You're doing God's work.

Played through the Horizon demo and it was longer than I was lead to believe. I got in 5 hours but maybe about 30-45 mins was me doing other stuff. Great start to the game and I can't wait to see where it goes. I'm shocked at how big of a fan I am of Rufus. Ever since Reverie the guy has just been growing on me.

Shizuna is actually not random. She was introduced at the end of Trails into Reverie.

Trophy list out for Horizon. Looks pretty straightforward. The 4.0 Tactical bonus trophy will probably be once again the most tricky one as with the previous 2 games.

Those are always pretty easy to me but I do have to look up a guide. Not a lot of guides for this game but I assume there wont be until the English version comes out. I found one on Gamefaqs but it doesn't have all the answers I need. Like do I need to get all possible SP in order to max out? I already missed 2 SP from the prologue and I don't think I can get it based on the fact that I'm running on nightmare. I think every game since Reverie has given you some room to miss a few SP points here and there but I'm not sure.

If you haven't, you should watch the final daydreams of Reverie

Rean and Shizuna

Renne and Agnès

There's definitely some leeway. I'm playing through CS4 now and even in that game you don't have to fully max out the Unity score and special ops grade to get the trophies.

The battle system is good in Daybreak, but the orbment system is a bit stepback. There's like really no builds. Like yea I have a magic caster and crit guy, but its barely any difference other than a few orbments. The elements mix for additional passive skills are all pretty low and most is just there. Also they kind of nerfed evade, so no fun evade/counter machines. Also I think the linking system in Erebonia was better than the circles style, instead of choosing the pairings you like, its just 'oh everyone is just whevere next to eachother, and everyone followsup or blocks for eachother'.

A major strategic thing previously was stealing the turn buffs like !crit and stuff, but you can't even do that in Daybreak without a pretty heavy orbment allocation that not everyone can do easily. and then its only a low % to steal.

Yea, I prefer the orbment system in the Cold Steel games as well. It allows for more customization and specific builds.

for years this series just flew under my radar.. then bought Day break not really knowing much about it. Loved it and then started my out of order journey

Daybreak
Daybreak 2
Cold steel 3 (started)
Sky FC
Cold steel 3 (finished)
Cold steel 4 (started)
Horizon (then back to cs4..and the reverie)

Kind of agree. It's not such a step back that it ruins that games but yea I prefer the way it was done in cold steel.

How do any of you remember anything in any of these games over the years? I've played almost all of them and don't remember shit. I cannot recall the difference between Cold Steel III, IV or Reverie, they all blend together.

Strangely enough, the format of Daybreak 2 was very memorable to me, I loved my time with the game. What even happened in Daybreak 1? Couldn't tell you.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day. I don't know how anyone can remember all this stuff. I do remember like huge key elements of the story that are kind of crazy
Like that one villain being from a different dimension I thought was pretty crazy.
Sometimes I go to the reddit after finishing a game and just read peoples thoughts on it and I can get good info like that to keep up on what's going on and how it's all connecting in a deeper way beyond "This guy was in the last game!!!".

The only issue is last time I did the reddit thing I had a pretty big plot point from Horizon spoiled for me. Thankfully we are caught up now and that wont happen again.
