LTTP: Warhammer Space Marine 2... a AA title is the first true next gen feeling game!

Holey moley... I've slept on this underrated title but just spent the last three hours being blown away by how impressive this AA tier game is!

To be fair I'm playing it on the Pro (and I hear the Pro upgrade is significant) but this is the first game I've personally played this gen that truly 'feels' like a generation apart from the PS4.

The epic scale of the environments coupled with an incredible draw distance, the graphical and auditory excellence, the smoothness of the visceral gameplay, and the sheer number of enemies (and allies) on screen. There are crazy battles with Xenos clambering over themselves World War Z style to scale ramparts, it really is something to behold, and I'm so surprised this game isn't more highly regarded.

Anyone else have some love for Space Marine 2?

Perfomance or Quality mode?

I didn't like it and I regret buying it. I didn't like the feel of the gunplay and I found the level design to be dull and the enemies boring to fight. The story and characters weren't much interesting either.

I think I might have prefered the first game, but the sequel is very fun too and you can tell a lot of budget went into making it as spectacular as possible. Cool game.

Definitely one of my favorite games past couple years.

Combat was just so fun, ripping and tearing through everything. Delicious violence.

Awesome environments and spectacles fighting against the swarms.

Also really loved the coop operations, I still dip into those from time to time.

Just a good ole fashioned fun to play ass kicking action game.

I love how it looks.

Gameplay is pretty mid and gets boring an instant.

To be fair I have only played 3 hours so can't comment on repetitiveness.

My post was more about the 'next gen' technical impressiveness of the game - genuinely epic and spectacular onscreen. Even more so, that's it's a mid-budget AA title.

It gave me the vibe of shooters from the PS3/X360 era. It was the most videogame ass videogame that I've played in a while. We need more of those.

Gameplay got repetitive for me. I did like that it wasn't a cover shooter with regen health, like Gears of War. Respect to how well it has done though. Warhammer IP is crazy big. It should get many improvements with a sequel in a few years

Didn't liked the game at all and stopped after the first area but some of the graphic and horde tech was nice.

I vastly prefer the first game tbh, orcs are far better enemies than mindless hordes of insects, it got boring after an hour.

Coop is probably where it shine more.

Looks great indeed and the production values are top notch but the gameplay gets repetitive really fast.
Every combat encounter is the same. The only reason I kept playing were the graphics.

First true next gen experience? Lmao the fuck? Mate it plays EXACTLY like Space Marine 1, EXACTLY, all the same flaws such as shallow as fuck combat, linear levels. Yes it LOOKS good but thats it. Nothing Next gen feeling about it at all.
