‘Devil May Cry’, ‘Castlevania’ Showrunner Adi Shankar Acquires Screen Rights to ‘Duke Nukem’

For context, this Apogee Entertainment isn't the same company
oh, right, Entertainment... okay. They never were on my radar, I thought they, the old Apogee/3drealms were just part of that Embracer circle jerk, doing basically nothing. Those games from new Apogee look retro af, and that might be something that can work to some extent, probably even better if they had the rights to a classic IP, but those will hardly be noticed by the masses if not something very special would be added. A Duke project requires a bit more extensive monetary commitment. No matter if it meets the taste of old fans or not. That's a different league than what Apogee seemingly does.

Total chaos does look like it can reach a wider audience, but yeah, they're essentially an indie publisher now.

When i am in a megalomaniac narcissist competition and my opponent is Adi Shankar:

Wow, I didn't realize how much of a douche this guy was, lmao.

The world could really use Duke Nukem right now. Just absolutely satire mocking every damn thing would be absolutely perfect. But I doubt this is gonna work, lmao.

It's not like Apogee/3dRealms knew how to finish DNF, so them acting all high and mighty is weird. They still seem to exist in some way, but haven't done anything for years now.
No idea about this guy and his works, but Duke could work well if they lean into the ridiculous somewhere between Last Action Hero and Mars Attacks. Good luck finding a bodybuilder that can act though. Maybe Alan Ritchson could fit.
Plenty of lifters can act, I don't know why you'd think that's hard to find. Bodybuilders tend to be very intelligent, studious, hard working people, so they're kind of ideal for theater in general as they're used to performing the same thing over and over again and perfecting it, same goes for why they tend to make great musicians as well.

I think Adi Shankar the public persona is him trying to hard to get attention by any means. Public makeup and those tweets are part of what is probably best described as his idea of what a heel persona is. Makes sense now I know he has a connection to AEW.

Unpopular opinion: I think Ion Fury would be more interesting (same universe, afaik). I like Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison more than Duke.
