Keep justifying that 5090 broI thought the point for going stylized graphics over resource hungry photorealism was to have more controlled optimization and larger scope.
The decision to delay beauty tech over release date is definitely a financial decision not a artistic one.
and will always be.
lol wtf is with gaf and this game? the game already has ray traced gi on consoles. on PCs, you will be able to push it even more.
since when the fuck did path tracing become a requirement?
The best looking games out right now are Avatar, AC shadows and Crimson Desert. None of them support path tracing.
And this is just another example of why people should not buy games at launch.
What the what now?The main character is not bald, pathtracing is useless here
I think it's a Hitman reference.What the what now?
Very wrong. In the first screenshot, the color of the flame is white, in the next it's a red hue. Regardless of path tracing or not, the base color of the candles flame should not change. The effect on the scene can change but the color of the flame should not.Of course it can be due to path tracing. Without path tracing, the chandelier's pink hue is not bouncing on to the scene. The chandelier is actually not even lighting itself up without it. So without the pink bounce, it would indeed have a different color
Different time of day does not necessarily mean different sun positioning. There's 0 evidence of a dynamic time of day cycle in 007. It wouldn't even make sense to do so for this sort of game. Again the color of the sun light coming in from the window is different. That most certainly cannot be explained by the use of path tracing. No it's not. The shadows cast are all in the same angle, which would change with time of day. All differences you are seeing lighting wise are due to multibounce lighting. Outside of lighting, other minor differences could be a matter of different builds. The screenshots are months apart.
Firstly do you agree that the chandelier is pink or not? You had originally typed "color of the frame" and then edited it to "color of the flame" while I was preparing a response, so I'm making sure I understand your challenge. But in either case, you are wrong. Neither the frame is white nor the flame's hue is red. Let's dive into itVery wrong. In the first screenshot, the color of the flame is white, in the next it's a red hue
It doesn't. The flame color is still bright yellow (almost white). What is changing is the chandelier lighting itself up and its pink color dominating the area. If you look at the flame itself it's neither pink nor red. Just yellow. I urge you to do a real analysis before jumping to all these conclusions. Notice how the pink area i circled above is now consistent across the entire chandelier, due to PT. That's all there is to it. Accurate self-lighting.the base color of the candles flame should not change

1000% the only thing i give a shit about is frame rate.Glad to know that some of us actually PLAY games and are less concerned about some lighting/shadows/reflections etc over how the game plays. Digital Foundry has fucked up so many minds with their over analysis its not funny. Just enjoy the game wherever you are playing it ffs.

Besides, this isnt a Capcom situation where their original ray tracing implementation is garbage, and needs path tracing to make it stand out.
Who is complaining about the graphics though? It's a beautiful game with or without path tracing. People are just complaining that a feature they were looking forward to, that they built a gaming rig for, is getting delayed. Just because you don't care, no one should? The amount of complain I see about graphics, I'm starting to think this game might have good gameplay.
Its pattern I start to see in GAF, most of the time when I see GAF complain about graphics the game has good gameplay but when I see GAF happy about the graphics the game has mediocre gameplay....good example (Order 1886)

Lol there hasn't been a Bond game worth a shit since the N64 release.
I mean, Blood Stone was really good, even if overall production values weren't the best.If there is any chance to get a good 007 game, this is the game
You've read the dev interview where he said that they're makiing bond for the "modern audiences" right? So i would be really careful and wait till people have actually played the gameDo you understand that this game is being made by the Hitman Developers? Those guys are extremely talented. If there is any chance to get a good 007 game, this is the game
Their next game after 007 is a Fantasy game apparently. The longer they take with this the longer it will take for them to get back to working on Hitman. I hope this game sells well but I won't be playing it.
