All things considered, only a fractured hip and pelvis is a good outcome. I hope he recovers well, an impact like that even 20 years ago would've been deadly.

UK: @IndyCar #Indy500 day 1 qualifying peaked with a massive 66k (0.4%) on @btsport yesterday. Highest Indy number in years! @overnightstv
UK: Average across *billed* slot was 45k (0.3%). Highest ever for @IndyCar on @btsport
UK: Looks like last night's @IndyCar qualifying average was highest in the UK since live coverage of the 2011 #Indy500. @overnightstv
Where and when to watch?
Race broadcasts May 28th 11:00AM ET, 3:00PM GMT, 4:00PM CET:
United States - ABC
Canada - City, Sportsnet 360
United Kingdom - BT Sport
So, just so I'm clear, this is green flag at 4pm UK time, right?
Is qualifying at 11 AM or 4 PM ET today?
If my conversions are correct, it's 3pm UK time.
EDIT: Actually yeah, green flag is an hour later at 4pm.
If only Swatch Internet time caught on. The race broadcast starts at 4pm BST and the actual start of the race should be 45 minutes to an hour later. Sorry for the confusion. An hour later than the times you posted in the OP? Because we're not on GMT at the moment, we're on BST (which is GMT+1), which is why I wanted to double check!

Scratch last tweet, Alonso's engine being changed ahead of Fast Nine shootout (2.5 hours away). At least he's familiar with the situation!
Told engine change will be done in time for Fast Nine, but it will be pushed immediately with Alonso's one qualifying attempt #Indy500

Over 231 MPH average for Hunter-Reay! I wonder if the fast nine will top that. Should be an interesting last qualifying session.
Would have to think so.
Will be interesting to see how Nando gets on with a new engine in there.
Nice run. Provisional pole.
